I still don't see why the first one was acclaimed, felt unfunny and "tryhard" to me.

People.

Anyways. I saw it with a friend last night and it was hilarious, some of you just don't have a good sense of humor.

Nah, they're marketed to people who like Sleezy low-brow humor. Personally I love that kind of humor, but some people don't.

I'll probably go see it this weekend.

I heard from a friend that it was horrible. He described it as a carbon-copy of the first movie with humor so degrading that a "dribbling retard could only like it" (his words). If you also look up the reviews on the site Rotten Tomatoes, the score is dramatically lower than the first movie. Needless to say I don't plan on watching it anymore. First movie didn't even really catch my attention too much. I was only planning to see this one because my Grandmother offered since she was taking my cousin to the movies this weekend.

^well sequels in movies are usually worst than the first one. Nonetheless I still enjoyed it.

Doubt I'll go to the cinema to see it since I usually do that with my family, but I will most probably check it out when the DVD is out.

I liked the first one, but the second one just felt like a rehash. Same set up, same jokes (some exact quotes!), same conclusion. Instead of a tooth, it's a tattoo. Instead of a roof, it's an elevator. Instead of a baby/tiger, it's a monkey. Instead of a dude with the same name, it's a dude with the same sweater. It's not necessarily a bad film, but I felt like I might as well have just watched the first one a second time. And they didn't even make a joke about Bangkok.

They did make a joke about "Bangkok", maybe you just happened to miss it?

It's almost astonishing how bad this sequel is. It's almost like a shot for shot remake of the first film, I haven't seen a film so lazy in a while. It took 20 minutes before I chuckled, and I only chuckled about 5 times throughout the film. Fucking lame.

SPOILERS:
.
.
.
The part at the end was so stupid, anyone want to tell me why the dad forgave the loud obnoxious American for having his brother in law go missing, have his finger cut (no more musical instruments for him, huh?), wreck a speedboat and insult everyone in Thailand?

"Oh, ok, your speech that basically insulted me and told me that you're a demon has actually changed my mind about you! Here, have my daugher!"

LAZY.

After seeing the movie I'd have to agree that compared to the original, it's pretty bad, and only has a few funny moments. The first was fresh and original, and line by line, start to finish, it was hilarious. You know there gonna make another one someway down the line, considering it made $105 million in just 3 days, that's gonna be just as bad, if not worse then part 2.

Pretty much the overall feeling you get from watching it. Todd Philips needs to come up with a new formula if there's gonna be a part 3. Whats next, the gang goes to [insert random city] were [main character, Allen?] is going to get married to some girl while they decide to, yet again, get trashed before the big day and lose [insert random character that get's lost but is right under their nose the entire time] and have to solve a big riddle just so they can make it time and save the day...again? Come now.

Whatever part 3 will be about, there's no way it will be better than the ultimate hangover themed movie: Very Bad Things, starring Christian Slater and Cameron Diaz.

If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and check it out. It's the epitome of dark fucked up comedy with a killer ending.

I thought it was awesome, but definitely not better than the first one. It just seemed like a carbon copy of the first. Still had its funny moments though.

Really? I still haven't seen Hangover 2 and I probably won't waste the $10, but Very Bad Things was a very underwhelming comedy... Though I admit that the final scene was a good laugh, at least it was when I saw it over a decade ago.

I just think Hangover is the tame version of Very Bad Things.

EDIT: Oh wow, soon as I posted this I just read this article about the new hiring of a writer to write the screenplay for Part 3 of the Hangover, and the ideas he has for it makes the allusions to Very Bad Things even more obvious. I can only hope the third film is better than the second anyway, I still like the first though.

A lot of my friends and people at my school say the first movie is funniest movie they have ever seen. I don't get it. I doubt a lot of people will remember these movies in a few years.

TBH, Bridesmaids was much funnier. Hell, I think it may have had more laugh-inducing moments than the original Hangover film.

I went to see Bridesmaids with my girlfriend, and I was definitely surprised. The film definitely puts the old stereotype of women not being funny to rest.

It started funnily enough but the jokes became rather hit-or-miss as it went on. The conclusion of the "lost and found" was very well thought-out, though.

I can understand some of the people's con's towards this movie but really what did you expect going into it?? I went going into it not expecting a whole lot considering I knew it was going to be majority the same movie, same concepts but different settings, and I came out of it better than expected...much more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be

IMO the people who complained about this movie, if they saw this movie first they would say this was a really good comedy anyway(assuming you liked the first one and that kind of humor)

Hmm, even though it was pretty much a copy of the first, I loved it.
But maybe that's because I saw it in the cinema with the guy I'm starting to fall in love with... :$
Still, it was fun, and I laughed^^

A third hangover?!?! >.<

This was predicted on South Park. xD

I kind of hope it's Zach Galifinakis getting married then! Still the second one was pretty hilarious. Even if it was the same as the first one that monkey was so funny! Zach G. is the best character of course but it was pretty entertaining all in all.

Thought it was gonna be another lame sequel but it wasn't. They did slightly up the ante and IMHO it did good to the movie. One of the few movies in the last couple of years to genuinely make me laugh, even though the jokes were corny and vulgar.
