Damn, fun and games are over. Maomao is now treated like a prisoner, being locked up behind some fortress. But yeah, this seems to be much bigger than what she realizes.

Pretty interesting buildup for the final few episodes. Maomao will have to use her clever mind again to resolve what's ahead. Very curious to see what Jinshi plans to do next too.

Loulan being Shisui or the other way around, really shouldn't come as any sort of surprise, you know, the hints were always there. I mean hey, even Maomao had some sort of idea which she just never wanted to believe, that's why the reveal which should've turned her world upside down, ideally, didn't really give her much shock, when all is said and done.

Still full marks to how everything was build-up around Shisui, like literally from the last season, which makes this payoff the highlight of this series. If it wasn't obvious already, Loulan and her people are plotting a war against the kingdom. Lakan switching character the moment Luomen arrived gave a good laugh btw. Guy need to go easy on Jinshi, I mean it isn't like he's not doing anything.

Shenmei needs to die, I mean will actually help a lot of lives there. I feel bad for that kid, and almost was about to feel bad for Maomao, except Loulan saved her. Coming four episodes are really going to be something else now. Can't wait.

Oh my goodness what an episode. Non-stop chills throughout. Everything’s finally coming together, even plot points from season 1! It all leads to this arc’s climax. The Shishou rebellion is upon us. Is Jinshi finally going to embrace his birthright to save the kingdom and the girl he loves?! Couldn’t write better drama than this 😭

Acting job of the year goes to Shisui. There’s very few people who have genuinely outsmarted Maomao, but she did. Who would’ve thought the silly ditz who always popped up out of nowhere, broke ice sculptures, etc., would be one of the most intelligent and strategic people in the whole series? The Loulan connection seems so obvious in hindsight like Maomao said, but it never dawned on me until a few episodes ago!

So to be 100 percent objective with Shenmei, I know we all on the “she needs to die” page and I do think she’ll have to die narratively, but we only see her AFTER she got back from the palace. We know the sort of shit young girls went thru once they got to the palace so what made her this evil? She came back from that ordeal and saw her husband remarried and had another kid and wife living there, I think anyone with the sort of mental trauma she probably had would snap too. Doesn’t make it right, but I’m gonna wait till we potentially see more to REALLY judge her.

I do feel awful for the abuse that Suirei has had to endure for the simple crime of being born. Putting she and her mother out and using them as servants is evil, but again could be the deeds of a deeply broken woman. I just want she and Shisui to get a happy ending, but it’s going to be a big ask given everything going on. My heart broke during the flashback where Shisui talked about how she thought by being the perfect daughter it would stop her mom, but that can’t save her. She’s too far gone.

Back in the palace for the end of the episode and this was one of my fave stretches in Kusuriya so far. Seeing Lakan just not gaf at all about Jinshi’s status and go full protective dad on him was so cool. He wants his daughter back! We also got to see both of Maomao’s dads on screen together which was so cool, it’s funny how Lakan is so respectful with Luomen and crass with Jinshi lol. But the scene of Lakan getting on his knees and pleading in the most sincere way for Jinshi to stop the rebellion and assume his rightful place was incredible.

Y’all I cannot wait to see how this arc plays out. One way or the other, things are NOT going to be the same going forward in this story and I’m so excited.

So Shisui was Louran after all, i had my suspicions but it was pretty well hidden.
The thing is what she had done is basically treason which means things might not end well for her, let's hope i am wrong tho.
Her mother is a piece of work tho thinks she is above everyone else and that it gives her a reason to abuse others as she wants, hope she gets what she deserves.
Moamoa is also in a tough spot tho it seems her profession and knowledge saved her for the time being.
And it looks like Jinshi is making his move.

Calm Lakan

Dang...

Yes, we're going to WAR!!!

Jinshi's father-in-law spoke. Time to act, get your frog ready

Meanwhile... Seriously Maomao?

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Took a wild guess back when Shisui was first introduced that either she was Loulan or related to her cause they look alike and yep was right. It's now confirmed, has been for a while now but now they outright said and showed it. But is Shisui really her act? I think it's the opposite and Loulan is her act. Shenmei's a bitch and getting everyone involved in her rebellion, even the children. Damn which one was that kids mother though. Also Maomao was 30 all along, she was actually a hag, how truly fearsome.

Lakan finally pushed Jinshi to take his intended role. Last bit got me hyped up.

Btw I thought Loulan and Suirei shared same mother but it was the opposite.

The goosebumps. To Maomao's credit, Jinshi's big reveal probably wouldn't have felt as grand as it did without all her constant distractions during his prior attempts.

Also feeling like a crown rn for thinking Shisui was straight up gonna be a slightly older and bug-crazy Xiaolan when she was first introduced

holy s--!! PEAK

I actually had chills from this scene, it was so good I fuckin loved that change in lighting.

3 people from the La Clan kneeling to Jinshi.. no, the Moon Prince, asking to mobilize the army to save their princess, what a beautiful moment. We are going to war!

Lakan didn't give a shit speaking rudely to the Moon Prince and then he folded the instant Luomen appeared hahahaha

~meanwhile Maomao is just enjoying her treasure trove of medical books and medicine
Maomao was once again a step closer to figuring out Jinshi's identity and again she just set it aside lol

Shisui's real identity as Loulan is finally revealed (I love her genki Shisui voice but the cold Loulan voice is good too!) and more revelation regarding Suirei's origin (her little blush was cute)...

I was loving this show, but that was a disappointingly shallow revelation.

The entire scene with Lakan was also just.... awful. Matters of life and death are hanging in the air, and he's just spouting garbage. Dude. I feel like the relationship dynamics between characters are neither consistent nor well-established here. Jinshi, please get your shit together, though.

The rebellion is building and a war begins...

Looks like the chill, fun times are coming to an end, with Maomao imprisoned by Shenmei, and with this incoming war between Shishou's faction and the rear palace, as well as Shisui's identity finally revealed. Probably the most tense as this series has gotten thus far, and this is a wonderful culmination of both Season 1's material, as well as every episode from this season. As painful as it might be at the end of this, I can't help but think we'll see some unfortunate casualties, but this arc should be very interesting to watch going forward. Shishou, Ka Zuigetsu, it's on!

@iamkillingmyself I believe he called him his Uncle. Don't know if that is true, but it would be a reason for the heavy respect he showed him, when didn't show any respect for his son or the Prince.

I never expected my opinion of Suirei to shift so drastically—from outright dislike to feeling sorry for her. Shenmei is the true villain here. At least Suirei has had Shisui to look after her.

Things are getting intense—Shishou’s rebellion has been exposed. Lakan with Jinshi: *Time to actually do your job* 😑. Lakan when Luomen arrives: *Sorry, Uncle* πŸ˜–πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ. I love how, despite being terrifying—even to the emperor himself—Lakan still holds deep respect for his uncle Luomen.

Jinshi is finally revealing his identity, not just to stop Shishou’s rebellion but, more importantly, to save Maomao. Meanwhile, she’s completely in her element, happily reading ancient apothecary books.

Its finally time to get Maomao back and kick some butts as a sidequest.

This is as good as I remember it from the manga and the novels.

Maomao was kidnapped because

Its funny how Maomao claims, Jinshis beauty would start wars when, in this case, she is the reason.

Yep, the norm in world norm here would be to kill all the family and the major lieutenants and major servants, and various lessor purges and punishment measures going down the chain for the clan. recall first season when Maomao getting fired and temporarily exiled from the palace because the crooked merchants who kidnapped and sold her were vaguely associated with the family of the lady in waiting who tried to poison Lishu. And from the dialogue, rebellion is a much more serious treason that trying to poison a concubine. Likely many heads will roll for those who do not escape the country.

Shenmei is a real b*tch..we all thought Suirei was pure evil. But she was just a slave to the Shi family with no freedom..πŸ’”πŸ’”
Even Shiso must be obeying his wife's words lol
I think Loulan must have enjoyed her time as Shisui...'cause that must have been the only time she experienced real freedom without the feeling of getting trapped and got to be her true self.
When Lakan got on his knees before Jinshi calling him by his title 'Moon Prince' and asking him to lead them to war on Shiso that was a goosebumps moment..❀️‍πŸ”₯❀️‍πŸ”₯
Lakan is so respectable towards his uncle lol
The only human that he respects enough to fear I guess πŸ˜…πŸ˜„
That was peak storytelling...
Maomao getting so close to the truth behind Jinshi's identity with the tiny details that she gathers..if only she had listened to what Jinshi had to say things would have been so much better. But I guess Maomao would arrive at the truth behind Jinshi being Emperor's son but not his brother before Jinshi himself.
I wonder if Lakan knows that or he just knows that he's only the Emperor's brother.
But I guess Luomen knows the whole thing πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Lakan Jinshi scene was so fire..
Lakan grilling Jinshi (deserved), Luomen calming him, Lakan Lahan swearing loyalty just for him to take command.

Absolute Cinema πŸ™Œ

Yes it's Chinese civil war, time for millions to die. Idc Jinshi & Lakan buring Shi clan to the ground will be nothing less than they deserve.
Whatever previous emperor did, current one is a great one and trying to murder Jinshi multiple times warrent retribution.
Only person I really hope doesn't get killed is Loulan and that kid(his mother's story will some dark shit next time). Suirei/Shisui is acting all nice now but ain't forgetting her crimes. And that bitch Shenmei...

It's kinda incredible at this stage. Maomao is the brainy mc and still didn't figure out secret which everyone knows. Didn't hear it when Jinshi tried to tell him now almost figuring out still didn't reach the finish line.

@Insanity_Monarch What annoys me is how she was betrayed and kidnapped by her friend and doesn't care at all about it. Her whole kidnapping thing is like ''oh, give me the recipe for the immortal medicine please please'' She doesn't care that everyone there might die if the emperor sends an army etc. Shisui could stab her in the back and Mao wouldn't care anyway XD

Yeah, I was really surprised when Shisui's identity was revealed. Of course, the same hints and pieces are in the novels too but the anime makes it significantly easier to figure out due to the visual aspect. (Just by realizing that Loulan and Shisui have the same eye and hair color, you can already make an educated guess about who she really is).

Regardless, I'm definitely satisfied with how the team tackled her mystery in the anime since I've seen many people craft some fantastic theories that were all very close to the truth of the matter. Hope y'all are delighted by having your theories proven lol

Good ep

Sucks to see suirei get hit multiple times, Shenmei needs to go. She out here being a demon and drugging ppl.

Maomao adjusts to her new prisoner life with ease and we learn that Shisui is actually Loulan. Ngl, always thought that they were siblings and not the same person.

The fact that Lakan did all that to force Jinshi into action was simply beautiful. You can tell that he really cares to throw away his silly pride in front of jinshi and even his uncle (maomao’s adoptive father). The power of being a father never fails.

With such an act that simply is out of character in a sense for Lakan. Jinshi must now expose himself as the goat and save Maomao. Will be quite fun to see the rescue mission. Really great set up ep. 😌
