Seeing Chika traveling around and enjoying various food, even simple as a sandwich makes me smile. Rain wasn't going to stop her!

She and Koymoi had great chemistry imo and they make perfect traveling partners. It's a cute episode that had the two enjoy the experience of exploring again.

Chika has started to enjoy going on journeys and visiting new places, even though she initially started because her drafts kept getting rejected. The polls sure love choosing the north—where will she go next when there's no more north left in the country? Another country? Lol.

It’s good to see Koyomi back and her funny antics.

Walking in the rain always has a calming feeling to it, if you can manage to keep yourself dry that is.
The waterfall looked nice.
And Chika should stay away from the alcohol we don't want her to end up like Lily.
The girls where also enjoying to island even if there were some awkward moments.

Chika is just really enjoying exploring now and it's great to see. Great to see Koyomi again and once again full of energy her and Chika make an adorable duo.

Riri wanted to know more about that sake cave. I think she can spend the whole day inside that cave.

The EV-E301 series train is running on the non-electrified Karasuyama line. It is one of the few battery-electric multiple-unit (BEMU) trains currently operated in Japan.

This week, Chika travels solo first, and lands a little bit in the middle of nowhere.
This is such a chill place, maybe my favorite she visited so far, and I'll admit that between the waterfall and the food who looked delicious I'd gladly visit this place.

Chika then goes on another travel, this time joined by Koyomi, which leads to some pretty amusing moments.
This island looked absolutely gorgeous, must be nice to walk there with so many nice views.
Can't wait to see the second part of the battle arc travel!

Going somewhere that has poor transport and in bad weather is never perfect. At least there was a waterfall at Taki. The cave brewary was quite the idea. The castaway act was pretty funny. Curious to see how part 2 of their journey goes.

I like this week’s mix of Chika solo travelling to start and then linking with Hasu at the end. Chika’s grown so much and expanded her horizons tremendously thanks to traveling with people with different interests and that shows in how curious she is now about castles, sake, food and other attractions. This is the best part of travel that this show has nailed so far! It’s all about opening your mind up to new experiences and going out of your comfort zone! Proud of my girl.

Karasuyama seems like such a chill place to visit and it isn’t packed with foreign tourists. Can be hard to find spots like that in modern Japan, but it’s nice to just really see how locals live and enjoy the clean air/nature! Yatagarasu mentioned also!!

Solo journeying is great, but I love Chika’s chemistry with the girls so glad we got to see Hasu in the second half. Awashima looks like such a fun place to visit, you don’t see a lot of Chubu stuff in anime. Too bad we were robbed of beach episode with them 😂 some nice yuri moments tho!

More solo travelling too bad it rained because the waterfall was interesting, though it's cool to see her with Koyomi on that island trip in the 2nd part

Another comfy episode.

Chika's solo journey was great. Walking in the rain seems really comforting and really relaxing to do. The sake cave is literally Riri's dream, she would be in that cave for HOURS. I'm betting $1 that she would be there for hours. The second-half of the episode was also really fun. Koyomi and Chika have such a good chemistry together and I love seeing them interact with each other each time. The food looked so good, now I'm hungry.

I am gr-ate-ful for this episode. :)

Great episode, but I liked the second half much more, for the dialog between the characters is much better than the monologue alone And Koyomi is a cutie and the ending of the episode pleased the right beautiful views in onsen,of course.

The best of friends will always say, "I don't know who this crazy person is."

Japanese artists truly love their horses. Always so detailed in every single anime/manga I've watched/read

The 2nd anime today that had a beach episode. Though this one barely touched it, and the girls went to the bath instead. That's probably coming on the next one, since they just arrived on that island.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

This show honestly feels like it's brought to us from the Japanese Dept. Of Commerce or whatever passes for it. LOL The tourism points are high in this, so is the Sake. LOL

I guess this show gets some criticism as its just a basic level travel Japan thing, competently made but with little or no character depth, plot or anything else really.. which is right I suppose.. but why do i still love it so much??

The journey is not about the destination but instead remembering all the friends we left behind this episode :D
For an impulse stop Chika sure found a lot to keep her, and us, entertained.

This must be popular in Japan. Every week the Japanese people can view places to visit. There’s even a co-marketing campaign with JR East to collect stamps at anime stops.

Fun if you’re Japanese but so far, I have zero interest in any of her journey destinations. Cute story but I probably wouldn’t have started it had I known. I’m 5 in so I’ll finish.

@AkeZZZ Pretty interesting. I wasn't really thinking about different train models and operation mode, but noticed a display of power flowing to and from battery inside one. Turns out it was a HB-E210 series on Senseki-Tōhoku Line (diesel+battery).

And of course there was a Zatsu Tabi anime poster on Matsushima-Kaigan station

I'd be very surprised if this show isn't heavily sponsored by JR xD

Ah, this should've been a comment on episode 2 then, but it's a zatsu comment so it's ok

It appears that she's drawing ON PAPER ?? Sweet Jesus I literally thought I was the only person alive who still bothered doing that. I could be wrong though and she's just printing them- I thought the black thing on her desk was a tablet but could be a tracing table?

anyhoo- Her experience being on the train and it had started raining, then gets off alone and walks through rain (on dedicated blacktop footpaths separated from the roads) reminded me of doing the same exact thing, I got off a train in Runcorn (UK) and had NO umbrella.

I walked down footpaths that were separate from the road, and it was miserable at first- but the whole experience uplifted once the sun came out. I went to the shopping center, an unusual building with a raised bus lane and walkways, and had good food (that was also packaged!) and a local helped me find a bus that took me directly back to the train station without having to take that long journey on foot. It was so similar to all this. I would give anything to experience that again. Watching her I felt like I was watching myself, when I reacted to that pizza slice I had bought
When she saw the top of the bridge span from a distance, it reminded me of seeing the cooling towers of a power plant- in the distance, after reaching the end of the path that led to a neighborhood and the rain had just stopped (and I was still lost) It was such an incredible sight at the time...

I'm so glad she's doing solo travel again... it's so much more peaceful and you get to really absorb the surroundings- 5/5

This show runs in a slow and steady pace.

Very relaxing to watch!
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

Chika solo travelling to Tochigi, albeit in a rather rainy season, and experiencing all things from waterfalls to sake, it's one to remember when in Karasuyama. And the polls reflect that as every journey makes her more appreciative, more so when traveling solo. All the experiences, both nature and food-centric, are what makes the trip worthy.

The trip with Koyomi to the remote island of Awashima, Niigata (though north of Japan again) for the Summer break, the crazy girl and her antics are fun to watch, but what isn't is the severe heat in open air.

Still though, the friendship of the two, in delicious food and the baths in the midsummer period...this is only the first half of it!

A better episode. Chika's solo trip and thoughts were similar to mine. Being away from all the usual places and people does make you reflect on thing. The second half had me laughing at the pair's lack of commonsense. 23 kilometers is almost 15 miles. We made 15 miles in one day, but I could hardly walk the next my legs hurt so bad.

Chika traveled alone again.
She saw some waterfalls and went to a cave.
How nice that she wants to tell her friends about what she saw.
And once again, she went on a trip with Koyomi
Awashima.
They went to an island and had to walk quite a bit.
It was very hot, but they were able to endure it.
And they arrived in time to eat sea bream.
“Gr-ate-ful!” xD
And that was the first part of the trip. To be continued.
I really like their friendship.
Great chapter.
