| I knew it—Mosuke wouldn’t be able to control himself and went after the demon alone without Jinta’s help. It’s such a tragedy that his once happy life took such a cruel turn, and that Jinta had to absorb him for his ability. Didn’t know he could do that. After learning that what happened to Mosuke’s wife, Hatsu, was the doing of a wicked human—and that she turned, or rather wished to return to him, and ended up becoming a demon herself—the story of this couple really saddens me. |

| I was ready for Jinya to slay the demon and Mosuke to die but I was not expecting such a sad twist to Mosuke's life. Good show, very good show! Side note, Natsu reappeared after 3 years (but only 2 episodes) and she's definitely grown, makes me wonder if this show intends to go back at times to some characters from the past and not just forget about them after their "story arc" is done. |

| This show really knows how to fuck with my feelings and leave my jaw on the floor from twists. I’m genuinely heartbroken. Mosuke and his wife deserved so much better. This episode shows that demons aren’t the only monsters in this world. Dude I never would’ve guessed the serial killer was Mosuke’s wife’s. Right up until the very end I was wondering who would be, ESPECIALLY painful after Mosuke got killed trying to stop her eating the humans.. the fucking irony of her being the one to end him. Seeing Mosuke memories made things hurt even more, they were such an ideal couple. She didn’t even care that Mosuke was a demon… they were literally the proof that human demon cooperation was possible. Seeing the flashback of the wife getting raped and thrown in the water made me so fucking angry and then the fact those guys were out laughing about it and planning to rape more women.. Jinya gave them too good an ending. They needed to have suffered. At least Mosuke and Hatsu can rest in peace.. finally. But they deserved a happy ending. On a slightly happier note, it’s nice to see Natsu again. Can’t believe that it’s been 3 years since the last we saw her lol. She’s growing into a beautiful young woman. Hopefully we see more of her. |

| This was by far, the best episode yet. I couldn't help but tear up when it was revealed that Slasher was actually Hatsu and learning about the horrors she endured broke my heart. i didn't quite understand at first that why was slasher wants to go back with original form but afterwards it was cleared .she just Wanted to go back to mosuke. My respect for Jinya soared in that moment. He didn’t just avenged but he honored their pain. He avenged both Hatsu and Mosuke with unwavering resolve. HERE ARE SOME MOMENTS    |

| Well I feel kinda dumb not seeing the true culprit coming, I was so focused on the characters that were alive that I didn’t think to include one more relevant character in this story, being Mosuke’s wife Hatsu, it actually didn’t hit me until right before it was revealed lol. But goddamn this just makes it so much more tragic of a situation, Mosuke and Hatsu got done so dirty, and while Hatsu chomping down on women and murdering dudes in the street was definitely awful, the real demons in this story were people, not really the most original of plot twists but I really liked the way it was done here, I’m glad Jinya put an end to all of this. But everything wasn’t dark and depressing in this episode, the fact that Hatsu was the slasher means Ofuu and her dad were innocent after all, they seemed like such a sweet father and daughter and thankfully they actually were lol. It was also nice to see Natsu and Zenji again, I didn’t recognize Natsu much like Jinya lol, I’m glad she’s doing well three years later along with Zenji. And in the end Jinya did end up gaining two new powers as a result of this situation, so it’s not purely loss, Mosuke will be there in spirit as Jinya makes use of his invisibility going forward. There is just one question I have coming out of this arc tho, and it’s something I saw someone else point out, but how was the hairpin in Hatsu’s hair on her demon form when her body was there for Mosuke to cry over? Did she become a demon after that? Or is this a thing like with Jinya’s mom? It’s a small thing but I’m just curious. |
| This is full of nice surprised: Ofuu and her dad being diversions for the audience, Natsu coming back signaling that some characters might show again at later point in the story, the fact that Jinya isn't fully emotionless, but that rather can reflect and grow as a person, the idea that "some demons are victims". I'm glad that the story is going the "tragic" approach, rather than the "edgy" approach. I also liked the "power absorption" gimmick, reminds me of Fumetsu no Anata e and can be used to make some pretty interesting fights in the future. |
| I continue to be blown away by the quality of the show. Everything else is fine to good too, but I really mean in the writing department. I didn't expect it from a show released nowadays with this description. Of course it always contained the inherent potential to be something great and beautiful, with its premise, like so many other anime. But I didn't think it likely it would be one of the ones to do so. Glad I "tried it just to try it" though and overjoyed that it's not another low effort fantasy anime with little to no heart. This keeps going back and forth between my second and third favorite series of the season, but I feel as though every indication is it will keep going up in the long run or at least remain high somewhere. The genres for the series are principally action, adventure, fantasy, and historical, but this recent miniature arc or set of episodes strayed into the realm of mystery as well with a very classic "Whodunnit?" type of case. But the thing with mystery shows is, while I watch and enjoy many of them, I don't wade into the guessing game that so many like to. I rather just sit back and let what is to unfold progress to unfold. If the intention was to signal to the audience that the person who was the culprit behind the serial killings and disappearances was actually a known and named character from the previous episode, then there were very few to choose from. We knew that it wasn't Jinta, some people suspected Mosuke but I didn't think that made very much sense (though did briefly begin to suspect him early on in this episode when I began wondering if the reason they were unable to thus far find or hear any more news about the killer since they started their joint search effort was because he was actually him/it, so they would never find him while they were working together and Jinta was there), and Ofuu and the father owner of the soba shop duo really didn't make any sense unless one of them was actually a demon or just a person leading a radically different alternative lifestyle underground from what they appeared on the exterior. Which of course is possible, but I didn't see why it had to be a named character at all to begin with, other than technically to make the mystery aspect potentially "solvable" for those in the audience into that interactive experience. I hadn't even stopped to consider Mosuke's wife Hatsu as she was technically a named character but not one we met onscreen in present time, but again, I don't like to try and get ahead of the show so hadn't really thought about it too deeply. What I didn't expect all the more was for the demon to be the cousin of Goshinki with a similar voracious appetite. For the culprit behind the serial slayings and disappearances and the one (as we know now, multiple ones) behind Mosuke's wife rape and death to be two different phenomena although tightly correlated in that one gave rise to the other feels perfectly fitting for the origin story or genesis of how some demons come to be in this universe (born from unresolved and passionately-held, usually negative feelings and emotions, similar to ghosts and malevolent spirits) and for another illustration of the duality of humanity and demonkind both. We have: Jinta = The originally good human, turned good demon Mosuke = Good demon Hatsu = Good human, turned bad demon Gang rapists = Bad humans Simplifying with the "good" and "bad" here but you can substitute it for "giving" and "compassionate" or "cruel" and "vicious" and you get the gist either way. That's clearly the roles assigned to be played in this story and it's demonstrated in multiple instances now that humans or demons can both be on either side of the line. This isn't just a monster-slaying story for by the end, the "monsters" or "demons", as he saw them, that he slayed, were human men. Natsu and the male worker assisting her returning only two episodes later confirms that even some characters who may initially seem to be one-time appearances may not merely be relegated to episodic fodder for those who were already complaining of the limitations of episodic storytelling structures as early as episode two or three. The only aspect I worry over a bit is that the series going forward hopefully won't be overly reliant on the gut punch of a twist ending, which cannot always outdo itself in practice and would become formulaic and lose impact if expected. The first double-length episode had the "twist" or shock ending which set up the whole premise of the show. The second had the reveal of the man hiring Jinta being his estranged father and Jinta obviously seeing their shared past and the relationship between them from a different vantage point now (further elaborated upon in episode three). The third episode didn't have a twist or dramatic ending going for maximum impact, but that's because it was treated as a two-parter with this episode and that ending came in this episode. So I'm not wishing for them to tone or dull it down; just hope that they feel comfortable ending their episodes and mini stories within the main story on all kinds of ways structurally and notes tonally in the long run and also feel able to take their time and not rush this story. Because I haven't enjoyed a historical fantasy adventure series to this extent in I can't tell you how long. |

| This was such a sad episode, I felt for the couple. I got a bit suspicious bc Hatsu didn't disappear like the other victims. And then it clicked when I saw the demon eating the female victims. |

| @Mr_Sai no hate on Tanjiro but Jinya's personality doesn't just revolve around being nice for the sake of being nice. He's yet to recieve a big development but he's more logically written charachter, who acts more realistically and mature (I'm currently reading book 8 and it outright says Jinya would not hesitate to sacrifice an innocent life for a greater good). He picks up habits he sees from people around him (drinking) and puts trivial knowledge into practical use (flowers). Unlike Tanjiro who goes from being nice kid to being a skilled nice kid, we get to see Jinya grow as a person, while he witnesses tragedies, makes everlasting bonds and adapts to changes in history. |

| Humans can indeed be the worst demons... But I did not get how the body of Mosuke's wife was found in human form, and at the same time she turned into a demon. If only her soul or emotions were "demonized" (similarly to how the mother of Jinta and Suzune turned into a demon in a previous ep) how did she leave that hair pin behind when her body dissolved? |

| I didnt expect Jinta to avenge Mosuke and Hatsu by killing the rapists in the end. I thought he was going to send them to jail. Lol |
