| I like the mysterious vibes of this episode and 9S made considerable progress in his mission. Almost feels like watching him play the game itself as he advances up that tower. Really interesting to see Devola and Popola in action as they are more relevant from Replicant than Automata. |

| AHHHH DRAKENGARD AND REPLICANT LORE AT THE START OF THE EPISODE I NEED THE ADAPTATION NOW. “Once again we couldn’t protect them” first the humans.. now the androids, they had to feel horribleπ’ This was a Devola and Popola masterclass today, A-1 thank you so much for doing justice to my babies. After all these years of suffering and living with the unreasonable guilt of the totally out of their control failure of project Gestalt, they can finally be at peace. They deserve it. Imagine the endless hell they lived thru for centuries, millennia even, just constant self loathing and dejection. To the point they had to wipe their memories every once in a while or it would consume them.. even with all the people gone that would remember Gestalt, they do. At least they had each other to help carry that guilt β€οΈ 9s had a smaller part in today’s episode, but his visions of his past lives that 2B ended was brutal. All he can do is keep moving forward now. Can’t wait to see what they cook up for the next ep |

| 9S having more exposition and another existential crisis. Pod 153: Yep, that happened. Was nice Devola and Popola having more screentime. Even if was for their deaths. Devola and Popola android models, can cure and fix, have combat abilities to defend themselves. And for spice, pre-programmed very deep sense of guilt, and be automatic scapegoat. Now both characters that could make 9S chill out when meeting A2 are dead. The Pods can too, but they aren't assertive. |

| Devola and Popula's origin sure was a harsh one. God that machine girl's voice is just so annoying given what's happened to 2b and the resistance forces. This revelation about 2B killing him was lone overdue. The overlay of the origin with their sacrifice at holding the line though really was well thought out. Now to see how the finale plays out. |

| I was not expecting to see a live-action segment with the story recap of Drakengard/NieR (2010) but here we are. It was a bit spoilery but I think most of this information was already shown in the anime in various episodes which you could piece together. This just made me want a NieR Replicant and/or a Drakengard/Drag on Dragoon adaptation more. PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN. 9S finally learns the "truth" about 2B... Or 2E... No, he already knew it but didn't want to face it until he was forced to do so in this episode. That "copy" of 9S was a bit creepy and I wonder how the hell the machines were able to acquire it. Aside from that, this episode was focused on Devola and Popola... And of course, they also had to die in this episode. So much for them surviving to treat the other androids. They may forever have the guilt for the actions of the other Devlola and Popola models but to me, they never had to atone for any "sins." You can't atone for someone else's sins. Just 2 episodes left. I'm guessing the next episode will focus on A2 and then the final episode will be the big showdown. Can't wait. |

| Finally, they revealed Devola and Popola's story, and while I expected it to be sad, I didn’t anticipate it being this heartbreaking. The suffering they endured was immense, carrying the guilt of humanity’s extinction and even accepting the mistreatment directed at them for so long. It was truly a bitter ending for the twins. I can only hope that, before their deaths, they found some sense of redemption and believed that they had atoned for their sins. |

| Feel very sorry for Devola & Popola, they suffered so much and tried so hard to help out. We already knew about 2B actually being 2E from the start of the season but this 9S finally learns not that it really matter much to him as this point. Really looking froward to seeing what's inside that tower. |

| that is one hell of a way to open an episode. I wasn't expecting the Gestalt drop like that. Devola..Popola... :'[ I kind of wish they'd do a remaster of the other games btw, so I can get it on ps5 cuz I only played the two. |

| @Farabeuf welcome to Nier; it's not a comedy but a tragedy in the greek sense but it is beautifully done. Bring a box of tissues if you ever play the game, or for the anime as well. There are also as far as I know two books and a stage play. Sometimes a tragedy is good, we all need to cry but this one is great. It actually spans over several games, and the lore is definitely genius. |

| 9S had to learn the truth about 2B killing multiple versions of himself one way or another, where simply denying it or running away from it becomes impossible. He can only keep on moving forward now, despite his mental condition getting worse by the minute. Thankfully he had the help of Devola and Popola to help take down the oncoming machine lifeform enemies before he was pushed into the tower entrance. Speaking of which, seeing the backstory of Devola and Popola here was rather depressing, just like how I felt when I first read about their past in the Nier Automata game itself. The poor twins did go through so much hardship and mistreatment while still wanting to atone whenever they could. I can only respect them a lot after they went down fighting, making sure that 9S got into the tower safely. Maybe we'll get an anime adaptation of Drakengard and/or Replicant in the future, who knows. Only two episodes left to cover the tower segment of the game. If adapted right, then these two last episodes are going to be great. |

| Natsuki Hanae performance as 9S is absolutely outstanding. You can feel the emotional in every single of his dialogue. Finally spotlight for Devola and Popola. RIP Everyone is dead. What a depressing and heartbreaking season this has become. |

After that episode where everyone dies in the Resistance Camp, I thought I could take at least one more but boy was I wrong. This show is basically embrace depression. And I thought Black Myth Wukong was a sad game Jesus.

This episode explain project Gestalt, Devola and Popola 4D Chess plan better than all the text wall you need to read in the games. @FlorinGrigore Nier Replicant is probably one of the most depressing games i ever played. The last acts is just pain after pain.... You should play it is fun lol |

At least 9S finally learns about the truth of 2B/2E. It's nice to know that his previous versions still have feelings for her despite what happened to them π Man, I'm still hoping for a good ending where everyone somehow comes back and gets to live happily ever after π |

| 9S going through his umpteenth existential crisis. This time inflicted by "himself from the past". And well, side cast is practically all gone now. Not gonna lie, not a fan of getting Devola and Popola's backstory this late in the anime but guess it can't be helped since Automata isn't exactly the game where they get the most focus. |
| I don't think we'd get more of Nier in the future, but man, seeing all of that backstory made me actually want to. Moreover, won't be a harm getting more and more of Devola/Popola side of the story and more of initial stuff Automata is based upon. That said, heartbreaking to see their end this episode. This season just hasn't been nice to people who wanna live. |
