With our current position tech and the size of the Anime industry it would be nice to see a subtle release of remastered/remade anime series from the past. Would you want to see a remaster of an anime from your childhood or of one recently released that had space to improve visually?

I would love to see a remake of Berserk that doesn't botch the animation and characters like the 2016 release did.

Edit: for consistency's sake Anime that desperately need remake and remaster*

The term you were looking for was "remake" not "remaster" which applies to releasing old anime in 1080p and such.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

I mean, I'd love to watch more old 70's-2000's anime that don't look like the video is going to burst into flames at any moment... So, remaster all the anime!

If you mean "remake" I think seeing Kimagure Orange Road in a faithful to the manga style would be awesome. I love that art style. (The watercolor illustrations)

This question has been asked many times and I will always say the same.
I need an new adaption of Skip Beat. There's so much content to adapt that they could easily make a 100+ episode series.
Today, I may be a weak little bug that gets tossed in the wind,
washed away by the currents, and drowns, but tomorrow,
I may become the butterfly that spreads its colossal wings and flies the open skies!

Princess Tutu. It's still great as it is. But modern animation will elevate it to a masterpiece

Ichigo 100%

Solid adaptation until around halfway where it falls off the rails and events are all out of place pace is messed up. Nobody would watch it or want it but would be funny.

GTO needs a remaster just because they skipped a lot of part of the manga source.
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes.
It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo.

@rohan121 you mean the LN because it's a LN adaptation. Like a couple of series the LN were never licensed for English territory. The LN were fan translated.

Imagine all 74 eps in this quality. Also Astro Boy 2003 (16:9 version) and Sentou Yousei Yukikaze (blu ray or maybe even imax 70mm but, impossible).

Tsukihime got a remake of the VN recently, need ufotable to find the time to cook a proper adaptation up for this that it never got. Genuinely like this more than all the Fate stuff so there is real potential with this getting a modern day remake.

Always, always going to want a remake of Pandora Hearts that doesn't disgrace Mochizuki's brilliant heartwrenching plot twists. If I even got just more Elliot and Leo animated, I'd probably die on the spot (but be happy as I go).

As for actual remaster, I want DiscoTek to keep going with what they've been doing with Digimon lol

I want a remake of His Or Her Circumstances because the original anime has a bad ending and didn't even cover the whole manga. It's honestly one of my favorite that I want to see properly remade.

Naruto. Needs the DBZ Kai treatment. I know there's a fan-version of it, but I'd like an official project.
Tokyo Ghoul and The Promised Neverland need the FMA Brotherhood treatment. Adapt the manga faithfully plz.

Absolutely Ashita no Joe. I feel like if a studio stepped up right now, they could easily make a 4-6 cour consolidation of the original 2 anime adaptations, and make an anime that is very easily able to work for modern viewers. The art style would be the most uncertain part, since I personally am biased towards the earlier adaptation's art style, while a lot of people prefer Ashita no Joe 2's art style. We're already getting a Versailles no Bara movie, and the 2022 Urusei Yatsura is really good too, so why not bring back another classic?

If you meant remake then The Promised Neverland All the way. The way the second season butchered the manga was truly hearthbreaking for me. It's the first manga physically owned and one of my favourite arc ever, the Goldy Pond arc, got erased along with my favourite character Yugo. If i ever become a millionaire, i'm gonna fund a TPN remake.

All anime released before 2015, they all look awful.
If you're a fanboy, please don't waste my time.

Digital remasters are flawed because it's all upscaling that has flaws. Unfortunately the things that can get a proper remaster the stuff on film sometimes the film gets too damaged to be usable to do that or it is lost.

Or did you mean remake?

The one I want to see the most is a good quality remake of Berserk from the start. It deserves better than the past adaptations, even though the 1997 anime and Golden Age movies were decent. Claymore is another which would benefit from the FMA: Brotherhood treatment.

@trinitroglycerin Elfen Lied is one of my favorite animes and I think it's amazing, but from what I recall, there were a few things different from the manga that actually would make a second season unfeasible (plot-wise).
