| Well, Sunraku did need a higher level in order to fight the monster down in that place. Oicazzo seems like an interesting ally to be by his side for this quest. The monster fish or whatever proved to be a threat although it seemd more like a mini boss. Teamwork paid off. I like their work ethic but Sunraku needs to work harder to level up. |

| 7:52 Here Katzo says γγγγͺ (dokkiri) - "feeling startled; getting a shock", but it also can mean "hidden camera" in the context of pranks. If you google it and go to images, there are a lot of signs with γγγγͺ倧ζε (dokkiri daiseikou) - "hidden camera great success" written on them, just like what Pencilgon is holding here. (just discovered this myself) εΉι£ (setsuna) - "moment; instant" (From Sanskrit “kαΉ£aαΉa”) Everyone's talking about the OP, but I think the ED is really good too. I guess they'll change in the episode after the next one. Cool episode. This is why I always go through the tutorial and read about the game before actually doing anything. |

| Skipping the tutorial? Not a good move, as Sunraku learned the hard way. OiKatzo, luckier than any system, snags the serpent instead of Sunraku. Now, let's dive into what makes Setsuna a unique NPC and how she'll lend a hand in the showdown with Wethermon. |

| The battle against Wethermon the Tombguard, both Oikatzo and Sunraku clearly need to grind to up their character levels quick, and what better way to do that than in the Iron Ruins of the Divinity dungeon. Oikatzo's role in SLF being a light fighter, he's quite the agile fighter, that with Arthur's plan of them both navigating through the dungeon right to the hidden area: Tearlight Lake, to fish up the Lifestide Lake Serpent and earn some sweet EXP. While Sunraku fishes up a normal salmon, Katzo struck gold, and Sunraku at least had his Empire Bee Twinblades as backup for his low-level unequippable Vorpal blades, though if talking about affection levels, he had quite the trauma about playing trash game dating sims as well. Moreover, Bilac's handmade blades have a corrosive effect, which helped in the subjugation of the sea serpent. And in terms of skills, Sunraku...never went through the tutorial town, which Oikatzo has to teach him about SLF's Skill Garden ability, which he didn't realize earlier and skipped everything in beginning order. On top of Wethermon the Tombguard, there is NPC Setsuna of Bygone Days, what does the trio want from her to fulfill their mission? |

| Katzo used a monk job as a fighter? Such an interesting decision. While Sunraku casually decided to be a luck fighter out of all build. Both truly have a different taste while fighting the enemy. However, when to talk about the character growth, Katzo is a winner here, because dude almost catch up with Sunraku in just one damn place fishing of grinding. The power for not skipping the tutorial, perhaps? Worth the smug, i guess xd Well, i can't believe Sunraku also doing the trash sim dating game. Curious how he's gaming that, perhaps slf theatre might cover it up someday ... Bee and her twin bee blade she made up, good for Sunraku before able to use the grand weapon created by Vash ... Alright then that's enough time of grinding. Let's move forward a bit to their goal, shall we? |

| When I started this anime, I only expected it to be a junk food anime. I didn't expect to enjoy that much. It has quickly become the highlight of my week together Frieren and Apothecary Diaries. Also, as usual, Emul is cute.  |

| That was literally me lol. I have a bad habit of skipping tutorial stuff cause it can get lengthy and annoying. So I just gather info as I play and sometimes miss stuff totally and my friend would be like how tf you don't know that lol. That last bit with the song was sad and beautiful. |

| Yet more padding to fill up time pointlessly. Why did they take that much time following directions inside the tech ruins just to get to the hidden area that's just a poorly detailed fishing area. Likewise the otome game, we already know that Sunraku is the gamest gamer out there in the gamer world, yet another worthless detail that adds nothing to the main game. Haven't been that bored by stupid infodumps on basic level videogame stuff like combo attacks or how DOT abilities work. Yet this show manages to treat it's audience like ignorant idiots about videogames (despite the target audience being already people who play videogames). Meh, Katso isn't a bad character, but I'd wish the show had more variety on weapons, like heavy swords, axes, polearms or even shields (yes I know shield hero screwed all anime that involves shields). Hope Beast girl shows up later on, at least there would be a character that uses magic/curses rather than the same boring melee weapons. Edit: forgot to add that the anime staff had to add in yet again another pointless flashback on Sunraku losing to Lycagon. I'm wondering how long will it take for the show to be slideshow presentation and flashbacks in the 2nd cour. |

We all saw that the even Katso clowned Sunraku for skipping the tutorial, that's no reason for the most gamer gaming gamer out there to find out so late on his own basic stuff like combo attacks (most people who skip tutorials find these kind of mechanics in a few hours or a couple of days). The same goes for DOT damage, we really don't need to be mansplained how it works. Guess you're really the "target audience" this show is really aimed to when you have to come up with such a strawman argument to make a worthless reply on me. Go back to your basement kid. Dukino said: Sunraku and Oikatzu grinding some levels in this area Pencilgon told them could help them level up faster. To face Wethermon they need to be higher levels obviously to grinding is what's next to do. Pencilgon gave them some very detailed instructions of how to reach that place. Inside those futuristic looking ruins down A long ways arriving at that underground lake. I very much enjoyed the interactions between Sunraku and Oikatzu, you can definitely tell they're long time gaming friends. Sunraku making fun of Oikatzu about being only slightly lower level than him was great. Emul totally had her world shifted learning that Oikatzu is actually a guy whom just plays with a girl avatar. Fighting that giant snake was cool, Sunraku had some other weapons made that he can actually use. Inflicting corrosive poison damage is a great way to create an opening on an enemy. Oikatzu showing off his character build with those punches, A build with incredible physical damage that can take damage too. Classic tank style build to get in close and deal damage quickly while being able to take some hits along the way. It worked well on that snake letting them defeat it easily. They both jumped some levels after their grinding but before fighting Wethermon there's a certain npc they need to meet. Thanks for the episode summary, but we all watched the episode before hand. I'm guessing all of your forum posts are this kind of empty/useless comments. |

| The preparation for the weathermon fight continues! Cool seeing some bro bonding time between Sunraku and Katzo. Nothing more real than just having a fishing trip with the bros in a game. The snake fight was dope too, Katzo showed off his skills and knowledge of the game. Despite being level 25, he knows the ins and outs of the game way more than sunraku who skipped the prologue π€¦π½βοΈ this is why you don’t skip the info at the beginning of a JRPG. Can’t believe Sunraku didn’t even know about skill linking or guilds lmao. With the emphasis in this upcoming fight being on player skill rather than level, pushing the mechanics of the game to their limits is going to be key. Can’t wait to see how things turn out Emu was so cute this week, she tries her best to help out when possible. Gotta work on entrance timing though. Could’ve ended badly if Katzo wasn’t a tank today. Next up, the NPC setsuna |

| Its hilarious that Sunraku missed out on all that important knowledge just because he skipped the first town. On the upside it proves how good of a game Shangri-La Frontier is. Sunraku kept winning fights based on pure skill even though he was argually weaker than most. I love the shot by shot composition of this show, it really gets you immersed into this world. Same with the battle mechanics its very fleshed out. Also good on Sunraku for getting new weapons, poison based weapons fit his playstyle perfectly. |

| So because Sunraku discovered techniques and abilities that he missed by skipping the tutorial does that mean he'll be going back to the starting area later on? I imagine that he'll be even stronger having taken advantage of everything available. Besides that I'm wondering what this Setsuna NPC will offer, maybe a quest or item to counter one of Wethermon's debuffs. |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| I'm pretty sure Sunraku still has those green twin blades. I would have liked to see those again since his upgraded Vorpal Blades can't be used at the moment. I guess they're weak though compared to those new daggers that Bee made. That status effect from the EBTB's is broken. Easily his strongest weapons he's ever used up to this point. I wonder what Bee could have done with the material that made the green twin blades. Definitely would have been stronger than what the swordsmith in the second town made. |
| Guess he really missed the opportunity to have even stronger skills due to skipping the tutorial. The different face expressions given to Sunraku bird mask are pretty fun to look at. Animalia will never found the creature now. |

| Is Pencilgon going to fight that spirit girl? She said Oikatzo and Sunraku needed to be level 50. They're 8 and 10 levels away. I don't see why she wouldn't let them continue grinding for another day unless they fight the spirit girl, or there's a timer on how long she stays in that place. Guess we'll find out next week. |

| Good episode. Lmao guess skipping first town wasn't the best thing for him, but hey that just means he probably gonna make some crazy combos when he does get to it. Personally I think I would cater toward Oikatzo build but I could see myself playing as Sunraku. I like being tank and dishing out damage as I take it. |
