| This episode was chaotic af, but man am i absolutely howling about how they managed to slip a fucking cuckholding joke into the megumin series before the main series (unless i missed it). My humour is scuffed but man i'm still laughing to myself about this. I was caught so fucking off guard about it cus i genuinely thought Megumin was gonna monologue about being happy YunYun finally made friends even if it meant leaving herself behind. Then the music just cuts and how you can hear Rie Takahashi's voice on the cusp of cracking when Megumin screams back is fucking gold. I'm honestly not at all surprised about how the heroes of the Crimson Village are also the locals, and how the solution to solving an attack on the village is to destroy the attackers with extreme prejudice along with the village. |

| Though people told me that I could watch this anime without having watched the main series, I started it; but episode 1 didn't make a lot of sense to me. I binge-watched season 1 this week and episode 2 made more sense, though the humor seems somewhat "decaffeinated" in comparison. I wish I'd have already watched also season 2, since I don't know anything about Memegumin's cat. I'll be watching it during this week and I hope I have completed it or at least watched most of it for the next episode. |

However, it feels like people are saying this is the best thing since sliced bread just cause it has Megumin in it and Konosuba in the title. If it was just a random season show with no ties, I feel like the score would be substantially lower. I just really haven't been wowed with this show, Megumiin is a great supporting character, but I don't think she holds up as a lead. The jokes have been meh, and overall the show feels very middle of the road. Now as always I try not go to crazy with a review if I haven't seen the entire show, which is why I am waiting to score it, I am hoping that it gets better, cause right now it doesn't feel like a Konosuba show. |

I know they decided to make a ton of scaled figures of Megumin but I am not sure if Megumin collectors are having second thoughts if they see a show without aqua and darkness. I am curious to see the perception of konosuba in the long run. It is certain to get more seasons but will reception dip as it goes by due to how it is structure and not taken seriously. |
