Developed by Gust, Koei Tecmo Games published the video game for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in Japan in September 2019, North America in October 2019, and other regions in November 2019. The Ryza no Atelier 2: Ushinawareta Denshou to Himitsu no Yousei (Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy) sequel game was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in Japan in December 2020, and Stream in North America in January 2021. The two games have sold a cumulative 1.6 million units.
Ryza no Atelier 3: Owari no Renkinjutsushi to Himitsu no Kagi (Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key), the third game in the franchise, is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in Japan on March 23, and worldwide on March 24.
Introduction Ryza no Atelier follows the story of Stout Reisalin, a girl living on Kurken Island in search of adventure. She discovers an abandoned row boat one summer day and sets out to the mainland with her friends Marslink Lent and Mongarten Tao. Along the way, Ryza meets the alchemist Vollmer Empel and his companion Decyrus Lila, which sets her on the path of learning alchemy and her intertwining adventures, and she soon discovers the truth about her home.
I'd be legitimately surprised if anyone saw this one coming. Seriously, I don't think anyone could have reasonaly expected this to happen. And yes, I do appreciate how they left her OG design (because she has gotten a new design with each game) untouched... though in my case it's the midriff peek she keeps giving us that elevates that design above her other two for me.
Considering how much impact these thighs had, this anime should have an animator dedicated to working on them alone. Not much else to say to be honest. Most game adaptations are a slog to watch at best. Even Automata turned out to be so banal and uninspired I completely lost interest in it halfway. I wonder if most games have such bad writing or it's just impossible to make an adaptation in most cases in the first place.
I'm happy it's getting an anime but i'm not a big fan of Ryza, i liked the Arland trilogy better of Rorona, Totori and Meruru.
But hey any additional atelier content is great news to me, might watch it after it ends airing.

It's just that it's hard to adapt most interactive game stories into a linear anime, especially if the game features multiple branching storylines. Shouldn't be much of a problem with this one considering Ryza's story is already fairly linear to begin with.
Going by the joy that I'm seeing in this thread, it sounds like this is going to be a banger, so I'll definitely check this out when it drops...Also dem thighs tho lol
