Also I respect people who can explain in details what they don't like. Honestly, we should value such people, they are in the minority unfortunately. |

| from my experience, being polite doesn't help, here my "happening" - some user makes a thread "explain what stuff you don't like about one piece" - I explain politely what I don't like while being very cool headed and not using any jokes - I receive 3 quotes: 2 insult me calling me an idiot and one says that I am a bad troll with shit taste and my fav anime are trash in conclusion, it doesn't matter, just be sincere and deal with it |

| A lot of people I hang out with just don't like anime either because it isn't for them or they find problems within it that makes them unable to enjoy the medium. I think that's fair and I don't bother them about it, nobody bothers me about liking it. We just all cool with what we like. |

As long as they’re not hurling personal insults and ad-hominem arguments at people, and they’re only directing their hate towards anime, then I’ll likely just leave them be and let them hate anime. I have nothing against people who don’t enjoy anime. |

| If this is a conversation that is directly addressed to me, as an anime fan, I will refute it on many points if necessary. And of course I would ask him if he saw some "classic" examples. And if he doesn't like it and he has his own opinion, you'll just listen to him and talk nothing more I think. And then good throughout my schooling, when I was there, I met more people who knew nothing or a little about it. They were even surprised when I told them that I was watching anime later. Then again it depends on where you are. |

I just ignore it, I try not to bring up the subject with people like that and not give reasons to start a meaningless discussion, for example I recently haven't liked the direction that mob psycho has been taking, but if I say this on one of my discord channels it would start a shower of insults for me, so I avoid giving this opinion there and I say in other places that this problem will not occur. |

I wouldn't because it would be a waste of time, especially if their MAL score is below 7 which either means 1. they take anime too seriously or 2. they are elitists. I just don't understand the point of watching a medium if you don't enjoy most of the content in that medium. |

| If people keep things civil so will I. Ultimately I wouldn't really say anything as long as they aren't insulting me personally or making some wide sweeping untrue generalization that is factually wrong (anime is just full of sex pest stuff) and even then they have to be willing to hear an alternate view point. Otherwise don't bother there gets to a point where there isn't much worth in conversation. 95% of conversations online and even to some degree IRL are just screaming into the wind. You aren't going to usually change some ingrained bias if you just sit down with the dude unless there is some open mindedness otherwise just agree to disagree and move on. |
