My father loves watching AoT since I first introduce him to anime in 2020 and been watching it weekly until now with me. At first he didn't seem to like it too much but after a few eps, he begin to like it. SSometimes he's kinda confused with the story and "who's that who's this" so I need to explain some things, but at the end of the day, he enjoys it. It's kinda weird for people in his age but if he likes it then I'm okay with it. So I just wanna ask if there's someone out there that also watch AoT with their parents?

Edit: I'm not even surprised when seeing how much people voted for "No wtf dude"

And also, the "Just sometimes" option is for if your parent watched it but haven't reach the current airing eps, I don't know how to explain it in short so I'm just gonna say just sometimes

Edit2: Man, so glad I make this thread, everyone here is so wholesome :D
Well maybe not literally everyone but most of them is wholesome

I don't wanna get kicked out of the house. It's scary out there.
"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author).

I’m watching with my 10 year-old daughter. I’m 29. We watch it every week. She was only 2 or maybe three years old when I watched aot season 1. Lol. I remember she accidentally saw the scene where Eren’s mom got eaten. And I felt like a bad mom for letting her see that troubling scene lol. Now she’s watching it with me.

Not yet, no. But they've certainly been curious enough to actually look up what anime is and what makes it appealing.
My mum really liked both A Silent Voice and Your Name. She's usually busy with work, so something like AoT is a pretty big commitment for her. Someday, maybe.

I do! Particularly my mom. She always wanted to give things I'm interested in a chance. Even though she's in her 60s she loves comics, anime and manga because she took an interest to bond and ended up legitimately enjoying herself.

I guess there are casual watchers here who does that. But AOT fanboys are generally parentless so you shouldn't expect much of them who do.

they must be hardworking. Being parentless and still watching an anime means they still have time and gadgets.

Yes! They've known I like anime for a long time, so they were a little bit curious, I introduced them to AoT when the lockdown happened, we watched season 4 while it was airing and now we're watching season 4 part 2 every sunday.
My mom says she doesn't understand anything, but still, everytime we're watching an episode she watches it with us lol
My dad on the other hand was really into it since I made him watch it, and he's really involved now that the story has turned "dark" (I mean it already was but I mean... darker¿ ). We have conversations and discussions about it, it's amazing to share the things you like and feel comfortable with the reactions you'll get from your parents -even if they don't like the things you like-.

(Sorry for any mispelling btw)

We love to see it. This is a pretty wholesome thread. As long as you and your dad enjoy it and it connects you in some kind of way, why not. Back before part 1 started airing, I was so hyped discussing with my brothers what we think would happen and my mom was curious and asked us to tell her more about the story.

Haha my mum is in her 80s so no. But I do watch it with my 17 year old son, who got me into Anime a few years ago. Think about it - get your parents watching cos they then pay the subscription for Crunchyroll and Funimation. And it's subs, never dubs

my father is that kind of person who us really serious, only watches the news and documentaries and reads books, he hates anything that is fiction, but after weeks of begging him and annoying him, he agreed to watch 3 episodes of AOT with me, he became obsessed with it since then, and he would make me binge watch it with him.
Same with my mom, I made her watch attack on titan with me by force and now she loves it, even if she pretends the opposite.

Yes, I had my mom binge it through the pandemic. She hasn’t seen anything from the newest season yet though, she’s waiting for the season to finish airing so she can binge it all. Levi is her favorite character and the episode 16 cliffhanger of last season crushed her lol.

I'll show my mom scenes from time to time since I love the show and am interested in her reaction to it. It's always fun sharing my interests with her, and she's said that even if it's not for her, she can see why it's so popular.
