| Yes better than most Mecha animes that try to get a deep political story and just end up being boring. Maybe Eva is better but I've never seen any of the movies including EoE. |

| mecha has 2 kinds the super robot shows and real robot shows in terms of super robot shows Gurren Lagann is the best so far no doubt but in terms of realistic robots then you got Gundam, Macross and even add Code Geass there |

| I think you are not going to have an answer question that in here because everyone have a different opinion… For me gurren lagann is by far the best mecha because makes you feel things that others can’t. Also that people that say you need to turn of your brain are super stupid… So what I recommend is watch the anime, if you already have watch make your own opinion. |

| The best can mean alot of things depending upon what you are looking for. This is a series that is obvously more about style over substance. Its probably one of the most bombastic, explosive and action packed projects, Gainex has ever delivered and its amazing in that regard if your adreneline pumps over seeing large robots and mech clashing. But if you are looking for a mecha show that deals with larger depth to characters and a more grounded story, then looks else where. Something like Patlabor might be your speed or if you want something with a touch of comedy and slice of life, then full metal panic, or something with a heavy milisterastic theme and story, then Gundam. Again it all depends what you want to see in a mecha. For what this series aimed to achieve though, its a masterpiece in my opinion. |
