| It's probably less morality related than the other answers in this thread but I don't get why watching an anime on 2x is normal, I never encountered someone who does that in western movies or shows, If you told someone you watched Breaking Bad or something on 2x, They wouldn't even laugh, They'd just be confused and look at you weird, If you tell someone you watched Steins;gate at 2x, They'll just think "Oh, You're one of THOSE watchers" which is kinda mind boggling. |

I hate using the "your thing isn't a thing" argument because it's usually gaslighting but in this case, "normalization" as it is commonly perceived... it's really not a thing, when it comes to art. Art sometimes does make us ask questions of morality in ways that allow us to see things in new lights, broadening our experience and understanding of the depth and complexity of life. But art does not "normalize" anything. Society decides what's normal. And what is "normal" anyway? Is that something we should see as a virtue? Being normal? Miss me with that shit. |
