Hey, how are you?

I see you have Video Girl Ai in your favorites. I'm curious, what did you like the most about it?

Yea it should be one of the first shows mentioned when people talk about comedy anime but I rarely ever meet fellow fans. Maybe the episodic nature of the anime scares people off, because it was like that for me for a while.

Yeah it's been on my PTW list for almost a year now lol, I also think you should try watching the other anime I mentioned Argento Soma it is a very slow anime but if you're patient enough the payoff is quite high.

Looks like both of us need to invest in more bookshelves when we get to the point of stacking them horizontally on top because of the lack of space. You got a really solid collection that's way bigger than mine. I got a few more pics like

My posters:

I used to have a lot of random cheap dollar posters of random things I'd get at cons, but it's all stuff I liked way back when. So I just framed the few core things I like: Macross / Orguss / Wild Arms / Galaxy Angel and a couple Star Trek posters. The sci-fi corner. There's still more posters I have that I want framed though, to fill all these white walls. Still in need of other 80s posters like Votoms and Space Cobra.

Then there's my figs which I gave a separate bookshelf to:

I've been going to anime cons every year since '08 and would buy a few each time. It just sorta amassed into this. The bottom shelves are just DnD stuff, books, crafting supplies in a big mess. I've spent more on DnD this year than anime/manga. Been running a campaign for close friends.

Back on topic, I think it just varies on your area where you get manga. I once had a bookstore limit the manga down to a few sections for a few years before stretching it back out again. Makes me check bookstores all over my county to just to find what I was looking for. There is definitely a whole lot more than there was before. It just feels like the series I start always disappear as soon as I grab the first few volumes. Except when it's omnibus volumes, they tend to stick around. The only hardbound ones I grabbed was the first couple JoJos and all of Gundam the Origin, which are very cool. The Origin's art is real eye candy from start to finish. Also, finding the Urusei Yatsura manga had to of been like winning the lottery for ya. I just really hope they relaunch it again at some point.

Do you happen to have discord? I'm way better at short messages and voice chat than I am on here.

With a lot of these 80s stuff, we're kinda limited to the few posters/figs/manga we can get. If I ever came across the Urusei Yatsura manga, I'd snatch it up so fast. These days, they're pumping out omnibus vols of Rumiko Takahashi series like Inuyasha and Ranma1/2 but not Urusei Yatsura unfortunately. It's a bit tricky now to even stick with certain series with manga because bookstores always only seem to have random volumes of things and flavor of the month manga that's gone next month. Makes ya feel like you have to go online to finish collecting series you start.

Most of my collection is just manga, so much so I need another bookshelf because the other one is for figures, haha.

What does your collection consist of?
Yup Apr 19, 2018 8:19 PM
Well the good news is that it does in fact exist.

The torrent I grabbed didn't cost and arm and a leg, but it did take up 311gb and took some time to download. Because of it being 1080p and whatnot. That was under Kagura subs on the new Nyaa torrents clone. Although it looks like there's a 68gb one at 720p up with more seeds at the moment. The only other way to grab this series is spending 500 bucks or so for the very few japanese box sets floating around somewhere.

Thanks dude, I was watching Urusei Yatsura, even though it's not on my list atm. I got about 80-ish eps in before burning out. I was watching 3-5 eps a day for a while there. Some point I need to pick it back up. Did you ever download the Blurays of it?

I appreciate your interest in old school Anime.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of Urusei Yatsura.
