There's Shaman King (2021) you know?, an new currently long-running Anime.
There you go, a looong anime with over 50 episodes. (52 to be precise)

Long running anime would be only good if they adapt an old manga like HxH 2011.

You would get a new episode weekly on the same quality and can run longer than seasonal anime.

I think bleach return will be good since the manga ended a few years ago and the studio might have a good plan for quality episodes without filler.

Well it's rare nowadays. Rarely maybe? Or probably not anymore. Because if you compare the animes before it commonly reach 30+ even if it's not a long running one. They typically split it in cours.

I don't know dude, in my eyes "Black Clover, Boruto and heck even Gegege no Kitarou" are looong. Even if their in seasons.

A high budget, 500+ episode full adaptation of Berserk (assuming the manga completes at some point in the near future) would be most welcome. Probably needs a billionaire to fund it however...

Long battle shounen sells wells regardless of anything so it's not hard to imagine. Although I'm not sure if I'll be happy if the animation will be as inconsistent as Black Clover.

I'd rather have a franchise with a few different series like Macross but I'm down either way.

So i was digging through MAL and i noticed old series used to have 50, 100, 500 episodes. And I want to know if you think we will get an anime as long as Doreaemon or One Piece again. Or maybe an anime with more than 100 episodes (not in seasons)

Ongoing 50+ anime

  1. Shaman King (2021)

  2. One Piece

  3. Boruto

  4. Detective Conan

so, yeah, number is too small

Fall 2022 is the most Unforgettable anime season of all time

Black Clover is shaping up to be one. Depending on how long they wait for the manga to get ahead it could easily be 200+ episodes if it's slower paced.

I'd rather an anime be split up into seasons rather than one continuous release, or else they'll have to sacrifice quality and potentially catch up to where the source material is (like BC did).

The next 25+ episode anime will probably be JoJo Part 6 (if they adapt it whole)

I'm pretty sure My Hero Academia is going to be pretty long. Cause the manga is still going and it has no plan on stopping soon. I think there's going to be like eight something seasons. And I consider Black Clover on the newer side.

The author of Jobless Reincarnation said that it's gonna be a long running anime, but the anime ended at episode 11, I think after that it's gonna be long running, I hope so..
to be exact, it was,

Mushoku Tensei is planned to be a long running series ""like Sword Art Online and DanMachi.""

Basically what they meant was mushoku is aiming to be a full adaptation of the source material and will receive multiple seasons, he didn't meant long running in that way. mushoku will probably be in 12/24 EPs per year format, atleast if they want to keep the same production value as the the first season

Black Clover just finished a run of 170 episodes
Kiratto Pri-chan is finishing up their run with 153 episodes at the end of the month
Precure is still doing their yearly 4 cour series
Mewkledreamy started last spring and is still going strong

Pretty All Friends Selection starts next month and knowing the Pretty Rhythm franchise it should be atleast 4 cours.

Edens Zero, i think. I havent watched it myself just yet, but its made by the creator of Fairy Tail and the manga is still in progress.

So i think Edens Zero is going to be a long anime.

But its just a guess from me. :)

Mushoku Tensei is planning to be a long-running series, showing Rudeus growth from a kid to an adult.

no unless its somewhat of a remake, plus nowadays people hate long running and only care about animation so if it doesn't look somewhat as good as a episode of a good animated seasonal ep like for example jjk then they won't want to watch it

There are way more shows being made every season now than before as well. I don't mind longer anime but they are less enjoyable than seasonals for me. I watch older anime still but I stay away from the really long ones, I did my time watching longer ones I prefer the 12-25 episode shows.

I think a lot of anime coming out now suffer from the fact that the most they can hope for, esp for an original anime, is 12-13 episodes. oftentimes it seems like the ideas the creators have for a story are just not possible to contain in that many episodes, but they can't just tell half the story expecting to get a contract for a second season. so lots of anime that seem really promising fall kind of flat because there's not a great deal of time to flesh out the characters or story.
