| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Just like Beastars, an anthromorphic animal society of a walrus being a taxi driver whilst a mystery of a missing school girl ensues. Definitely an Odd Taxi with a wide cast of characters. I dig the OP, it has a quirky and city-pop feel to it. The walrus Odokawa is innocent, yet the others are as crude and shady. Odokawa isn't one to follow the trends, and seems like someone whom everyone loathes. This sure feels cranked up to 11 though. With an inexperienced production team of P.I.C.S (who is credited for the original work and planning) with OLM Team Yoshioka, I'm not entirely sure if this could take off being as it is. But being an OLM product, it definitely has the kids' feel to it. |

| Ooooookey, I was here expecting a relaxing anime, since I didn't read the synopsis xd, but I come across a first episode that blew my mind The plot was very interesting, the OP isn't too bad either, I hope to enjoy this a lot 😂 |

| You can definitely say this is odd. It has the setting of Beastars but tells a more laid-back and mysterious story. It definitely has a lot of interesting characters and unique dialogue. I love that the first half of this anime was basically about Twitter lmao. From the OP you can also tell that in the scene Odokawa is talking to an unknown figure in his house that it isn't the missing high school girl, but a stray cat. And since we are talking about the OP, damn it is so excellent. The visuals are stylish and minimalistic, but the song is such a groove. I can't stop replaying it. Definitely a contender for OP of the season. |
| Didn’t expect much, thought it’d be the same as the onigiri man anime a couple of seasons ago but was pleasantly surprised with a well thought out and executed anime with an honestly eerie ambience that reminded me on tpn season 1! Will definitely watch more since I’m liking it a lot already! |

| Holy shit, loved every minute of this anime. Can't wait for second episode, didn't expect it to be so good. The main character is someone who works shit job but actually is intellectual, that's the type of people you sometimes get to meet IRL. No degrees and etc. just smart for who they are. |
| I liked the OP a lot. It was a good first episode, I'm not sure if I like the taxi driver's personality but he was spitting facts when he was talking to that boy who wanted to go viral. I really want to know connection between the taxi driver, nurse, police and the criminal. This show definetly has potential, I hope they won't blow it up. |

| I'm already hooked. The writing seems really good, and the pacing set the atmosphere really well. Not sure what they meant by biotech at the end, but hopefully they keep the mystery part grounded and don't go off the rails. First episode shows a lot of promise though. The art is interesting and their was a lot of music throughout. Not sure if those idols are gonna come into play, but they were showing them and playing their music a lot. |

| Well that definitely was odd. Decided to pick this up on a whim to fill the hole Beastars left behind. Wasn't expecting it to be so dark and serious, almost felt film-noir esque. I'm not huge on the look, but I'm intrigued by the story. Let's see where it goes from here... |

| It was oddly satisfying how the walrus guy always spoke his mind without carrying too much about social consequences. Despite looking like children's book this anime is the most seinen thing I have watched lately (Mars Red including). Caricaturisation and dark humour aside those characters felt like real people with real life and reals problems. A lot of twists and turns, even overarching mystery. The hidden gem of the season? |

| I love this new anime direction since Beastars. I enjoyed every minute of the episode. I believe that since the characters are not human, you pay more attention to the plot than the designs (you are not distracted by seducing anime women) and this adds a charm. I even got the chills at one point. |
| About Odd Taxi, episode 1: Come on, I liked it, you have an interesting idea: a taxi driver on a link to a case or a potential grandiose crime. Our sea lion is nothing more than an apathetic, indifferent and, frankly, surly character (I identify a lot with him, when it comes to thinking about the difference in generational thoughts and adaptation in other friendly relationships). Odokawa is worthy of a great character for this perspective introduction. The idea of corruption of the story's own villain, in addition to the policeman and the Alpaca, puts the show wrapped in a mystery that tends to be good. Nothing great here, but let's consider, it is something bigger than we imagined from an anime in which a taxi driver is the protagonist ... BNA and Beastars, you have a new successor |

| Im not entirely sure what i was expecting tbh but it was actually pretty decent, reminded me of ACCA somewhat and hopefully its just as good(or better). The establishment of the mc was more or less the main focus of the ep, the highly cynical and heavily medicated taxi driver struggling, or not caring to, connect with the world and people around him, while hiding a secret or two, and seemingly shares one shared with a corrupt cop I never thought id have ever been so intrigued by a fat depressed walrus taxi driver |
| This first episode got me nailed to my chair, what a great first episode! Animation looked nice and smooth and the main character has some weird but funny characteristics, very original. Does anyone know how many episodes are planned? |

| The OP looked pretty good to me, although I didn't like the song as much. I enjoyed the episode, I was pleasantly surprised, I guess I just got into it with low expectations. A lot of shady stuff going on for all sides, I'm interested to see how it shapes up. Odokawa is definitely an individual that kids these days would call 'based', but we should drop this generation gap crap. |

| A great first episode! I really like the simplistic art style and yet it sets the mood perfectly. This is a sort of beast noir type of setting and it really has my interest. The OP had me tapping my feet too. |
