I been wondering this as like they are gigantic cash cows for them and still very popular to this current day. So why did they did they drop them for seemingly no reason?

Isn't Madhouse in financial bankruptcy or something? Or was that a false rumor that I heard?

WIT production schedule would have been too demanding they already were falling apart on AOT during S3 and had numerous production woes in every season. They also weren't on the production committee so despite AOT being super popular nicher original titles like Great Pretender or niche manga adaption like Vinland Saga were better for them as they were on those.

OPM I can't say someone else probably knows why. That said OPM was a collaboration of tons of talent from outside sources. Even if Madhouse took in on again I don't know if they still would be able to live up to the quality of S1.

WIT didnt wanna animate those scenes of Levi flying around because one scene from s3 took way too long and the pressure was something they didnt want to take on another season of painstaking.

I don't know about Madhouse but Wit studio dropped aot because they couldn't handle it.Also they had to create a Netflix original anime called Great Pretender this year and the dumb production committee couldn't wait. They wanted to release aot s4 in 2020.So the anime was gone to Mappa.
Also Wit studio never thought that this anime would be big otherwise they never would've taken this project.

Madhouse is pretty much dead now as they are producing below average anime.

both of them are not part of the production committee of those shows aka they will not get any royalties from it despite its huge profit that are still growing

also they maybe busy with other anime projects now and they think the production time given to them is not worth it

Apparently wit had scheduling issues and couldn't deliver the series but I don't know if any details have surfaced.
The situation with opm is a little bit more complicated because a lot of the top tier animators that worked on it were not even working for madhouse. It was an one time thing as I understand it.

Yeah a lot of their staff defected to studios like MAPPA and M2 that said they still are making anime like Chihayafuru which I heard S3 they were able to live up to past seasons and you had A Place Further than the Universe as well. They have had a few hits over the last two-three years but compared to their past it's kinda obvious they are in a rapid decline.

I just don't know why that happened. If it was financial reasons or just a bleeding of talent. Did the poor practices of the studio lead to that etc. Same case with why didn't they consider picking up S2 of OPM.

From how things are, Madhouse doesn't seem to be in a great condition anyway. Redline happened, and some staff apparently left Madhouse to form MAPPA about a decade ago. And OPM season 1 was seemingly a passion project for the animators, a lot of whom were either freelancers or from other studios. A sequel of the same quality probably would've been impossible anyway. In other words, old Madhouse is basically gone and has completely lost its consistency. Their shows recently have been pretty bad.
When it comes to Wit, I've seen online that the schedule for AoT was really harsh and it was hard to make for such a small studio in such a limited amount of time.

the original talented team that did One Punch Man was contracted to do Boogiepop Phantom instead and look at how bad that anime is animation wise compared to One Punch Man because of very tight production schedule

so its more likely that the production committee of One Punch Man is late on booking the anime sequel for Madhouse and that talented team and because they are not part of the production committee then ye they do not care too

being part of the production committee or ownership of anime is a big deal profit wise because of royalties like i said, look at BONES and how they do My Hero Academia yearly because they are part of its production committee

-Madhouse is dead along with OPM.
-Wit has issues with its own production schedule.
