Everyone has been saying that One Punch Man 2 was disappointing but I thought J.C Staff handled the second season pretty well.

What are your thoughts on One Punch Man S2?

I believe I wouldn't have enjoyed it even if the original guys did the animation. The novelty wore off when S1 ended. S2 was just boring.

Maybe if the first season didn't set the bar high, you would call that okay.

I enjoyed season 2. Still a disappointment though. The problem with following up such a monster season 1 is that anything less than perfection would've been inferior. Even worse, I read the arc in the manga first so I knew how good it could've been. Still hoping for a good S3 though :)

I thought it was good and enjoyable. I didn't mind the studio change. The second season had some interesting moments...

I think One Punch Man is overrated. I forgot what I gave it but I don't get why it's so popular. Season 2 was enjoyable as I enjoyed watching Garou and I didn't think the animation was bad. I might have not paid attention to it cause the animation didn't bother me. But yea, it wasn't that bad

they should have done a full colored manga instead just look at the difference here https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1781275
and no this are the anime key frames if i remember right so its not those usually badly drawn in-between frames

they can save a lot of money if they just did a full color of the manga too

I'm one of the 0.5 people that actually enjoyed season 2, but even I can't deny that it was disappointing. I mean maybe I set the bar too high, but how could I not after that phenomenal season 1? S2 was a massive downgrade. Maybe not a complete dumpster fire, but a downgrade nonetheless.

it wasn't bad ignore OPM's elite fans they're a cancer like MHA's elite ones but yeah what didn't help either that the manga didn't finish that arc even until now which is the reason why people will think it's disappointing no matter what so probably Season 3 will either make Season 2 worth it or not perhaps..? also the animation was gonna get downgraded no matter what it's the anime industry anyways (and it was better than other anime that suffered more than it too) so it wasn't really that surprising but at least it got a lot of fixes in the BDs version (with removing the ghosting and blurring too).

just finished S2, it was enjoyable but not as much as S1

when people are mad or disappointed they just want to blame it on something in OPM2 case it was the studio change.. but i think the arc itself is kinda weak compared to S1 arc which lead to the sequel being mediocre in overall

i really enjoyed it though it was fun my rate is 8/10

I liked Season 2 much more than Season 1. Saitama is such a boring ass character. And I literally enjoyed Season 2 because of it’s focus on other characters instead of just him.

OPM changes a lot after boros, and I personally like the part that is season one a lot more, so fundamentally I would be a little disappointed.
That aside, first season is up there fighting for the best animation ever position, only really some movies like Kimi no Na Wa and Kizumonogatari and other god level stuff like Demon Slayer can compete, and the music/sound effects was considerably better in s1 as well. s2 very is enjoyable, the S-class and garou are cool af and King is the best character after saitama, you can definitely enjoy it if you really don't mind technical aspects, but season one is just technically pretty much perfect, I've seen it like 5 times so opm is engraved in my mind as a flawless animation series, I can't possibly not be disappointed by s2. If you see them side by side you can notice some pretty big differences even in design, such as bad metal textures and general much more sloppy face drawings. Some episodes are not bad, like the final and the tanktop master ones, but the animation quality is very inconsistent.
Anyway, good for you that you liked it, life is way more enjoyable when you don't see the bad part of things

The only issue with this season is the animation quality but that's pretty much it, the story isn't bad and it's still kinda enjoyable

Its definitely disappointing. Just read the manga, with the source material they should have delivered something great like the first season.

Instead it was forgettable and had lackluster animation & bad art

At first when I looked at the scored and some of the reviews I was expecting the worst like Terraformers season 2 bad

but watching the show I did notice a bit of downgrade with some of the animation but it most likely the difference in studios. Honesty the animation is still pretty good if season 1 animation is like a 90% then season 2 is like 81%.

I liked the fights better in season 2 because rather than explosions, environment destruction in season 1 its more hand to hand stuff/martial arts/dbz which I think is more enjoyable than michael bay fluff. I liked the character interactions better in season 2 as well vs 1. Humor is about the same.

Biggest issue straight-up was the audio.

Saitama's VA (Despite being the same guy) was flatter and even more monotone than in season one and they USE THE SAME FREAKING NOISE FOR EVERY SINGLE IMPACT SCENE TO THE POINT THAT I CRINGED EVERY TIME I HEARD IT.

Animation-wise, while season one was leagues ahead, you gotta realize that compared to most other animes out there, the animation was actually above average...

Which is pretty sad when you think about it.

Overall:

Season one: The budget went to Saitama
Season Two: The budget went to Garou and Genos (That copy pasta serious punch at the end was absolutely disgusting NGL)

J.C staff works have horrible production values and the animation scene kinda carried the S1 so it was obviously disappointing.

I just finished S1 and went straight into S2, honestly I expected the worst because I had watched J.C Staffs worst anime to date (which by the way was that mother & son isekai anime and that was sickening). I have been pretty impressed with J.C Staffs attempt at not completely fucking it up, but looking at Genos its definitely noticeable. Honestly this season was always doomed, since S1 was done by people close to the director and obviously they would be tied up doing other things. Fans think if it stayed in Madhouses hands it would've been fine, but after watching Overlord and AfterLost I don't think so

This!
My god, absolutely atrocious.
The distorted sound and the rifle sound (sounded like an M4A4 from games), I have no idea how they thought that was going to be acceptable.

Animation obviously a downgrade, the ghosting etc was at least fixed in the BD but the TV version was just bad.
BD axtually fixed a lot of issues with the animation and even some characters designs.
At least the final few episodes was what we expect from One Punch and I really enjoyed Garou's story.

I thought it was disappointing. That doesn't mean I hated it - I watched it twice and enjoyed myself, but I was still disappointed that it didn't turn out better.

One Punch Man season 2 was a masterpiece, at least for me. There's just something about this whole idea of One Punch Man that I really love and 2nd season had a decent execution, I have no complaints about it.

comparing to other animes who shifted studios , they did a pretty good job,
for me it was the content they left out, CGI, and some fights were directed poorly like batte vs garou and garou vs bang ( THE STANCE )
8/10 overall
