Edward Elric. I yet haven't witnessed yet another character with a more deeply touching story overall, and someone who received a higher amount of character development than him; in short he's the developed character as a whole I had the pleasure of witnessing ever in anime. My all time favourite character as a whole and I don't think that any other character in anime will top him for me.  Special mentions to Mustang, Alphonse, Hawkeye, Greed, Bradley, Scar, Winry and Olivier. |

Edward Elric of course. He has the most character development and the ending scene where he rejects power is awesome and inspiring. |
| Since I discovered this series way back in 2006 its been a constant tie between Edward and Roy. If I am truly honest though, Roy has edged out Ed just a little bit as I've aged... maybe it's because I'm in my 30s myself and can relate better to a character my own age now, who knows. However, those two characters have been the ones who have always spoken to me an inspired me. Shout out to Hawkeye too though, easily rounds out my top 3 |

| Hohenheim is easily the best character for sure his story was so good! I refuse to watch the 2003 version of this series solely cause of him I would probably cringe at the badly written filler bs involving him. Then after that its probably Izumi,Olivier,Scar, Pride, and King Bradley. I was more attached to the supporting cast than the main characters or popular characters like Hawkeye and Roy tbh. |

| Hard to pick between Kimblee and Wrath but I think it's Kimblee by a slight margin. He's a stylish dude who revels in the act of killing. How can you not like him? @FerrousFarron Mehh, he's not a good-looking shouta imo. |

| I feel like all the characters are great in their own ways but Roy is definitely my favorite. Greedling, the Elric brothers, and Envy are also high up my list |

| i can't pick just one!! but my top 5 characters are ed, roy, olivier, greed/ling and envy. they are so well-realised, and have interesting development. if i was really pushed, i think i would pick between ed and roy as my favourite, but it's a difficult decision! so many characters have an impact on the story and i'm attached to everyone |
| I'll list my top three: 1. Winry Rockbell - Honestly, I don't know how she isn't more popular! She was so cool! She was smart, caring, and I thought her romantic interest in Edward was adorable. She'd make a great wife... just saying. But, seriously, she was a really interesting character to me. Her beating up Ed every time he broke his arm got a little old, but she meant it in a teasing way. I also liked her willingness to become a better person, she always wanted to learn more, to grow, and become better at her craft. She was also honest and open about her feelings while at the same time she was strong and determined to find her own way by her own means. Lastly, while none of the girls in the series were that cute in my opinion, Winry did have some nice legs and a rocking midriff! That bath scene, ooof! :) 2. Lan Fan - She was a close second, this girl was kick-butt! Not only was she fast and really skilled, she was devoted and darn cool! I thought she was going to die when she lost her arm so I was really glad to see she lived and, while it was tragic, I thought her losing her arm made her a more sympathetic character. She was so cute when she wanted desperately to go help her master even while missing an arm! And her come back, WOW, one of the coolest in anime history! Yeah, definitely the coolest ninja-girl I've seen in any anime. 3. May Chang - She was SO cute! While I found it hard to take her character seriously, I liked her anyways. I felt like while she was kinda-sorta comic-relief, at the same time she was a strong and important character. I loved how she was so little yet she was able to throw those knives anywhere and was a really powerful alchemist, and when she makes that transmutation circle with her foot - just pure awesomeness! Plus, her crush on Alphonse was really sweet. Anyone find it weird that Monica Rial voiced May? She was one of the main people who sued Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric's VA) for sexual misconduct. The first time May spoke I thought "Hey! That's Monica Rial! Wait a second..." Creepy that they worked together. I don't know whether Vic did anything or not, I won't speak on his account, but I just thought it was a funny coincidence that they both worked on such a great series. Anyways, I thought May was a really likable character... not to mention in the photo during the ending sequence it looks like she grows into quite a babe! Ha! I just noticed my top three were all female... leave it to the girls to steal my heart every time! :) |

| Since Jean Havoc isn't on here my vote is for Hughes. Straight up teared up for my guy and got depressed when Havoc was screwed over. But man, this anime has amazing characters. Roy, Ed, Al, The Armstrongs, Greed, Ling, Barry the Butcher, etc. |
