Please use spoilers when naming scenes to not ruin shows for people.

For me, it would be the scene from One Punch Man where
. I don't know if that was the purpose of the scene or how other people reacted to it, but good lord did I laugh so hard when it happened. All the emotional build-up to just lead to that ending was hilarious.

Yeah, the "emotional" ending scene of Angel Beats. I was so taken aback by the enormous plot hole presented in that moment that I couldn't help but laugh.

people that I have met, all the women that I have loved; all the cities I have visited.

Lol yeah a lot of times, I was laughing at almost every emotional scene in jojo. I just can't take it seriously because of the bizarreness but still like it.

It was one from Chapter 113 of SnK:

Laughed way too hard at this. It was supposed to be something emotional but the author turned it into a comedy scene.

Maybe not actually laughing out loud, but sometimes a the production of the scene is just awkward and maybe cringe/chuckle at it.

Even if I don't like how an emotional scene is done I don't usually laugh or even chuckle, just think internally how much it sucks. The only time I laugh at emotional scenes is when I'm watching a show that's so bad it's funny, like King's Game.

I was laughing at the last thirty minutes of Kimi no Na Wa. By that point I'd completely lost interest in the movie, so I played the Benny Hill theme on loop over top of it, and it vastly improved my experience.

Episode 10 of Violet Evergarden
If i remeber this right Violet got done with her job and left but the little girl (ann) runs after her and trips and face plants, made me giggle a little.

I did laugh a couple of times during Your Lie in April.

Specifically, scenes where Kaori is crying. They animate these ridiculous, cartoonish, baseball-sized tears running down her face and it becomes impossible for me to take those scenes seriously.

god, i hate that anime...

Definitely Kimi no na wa. Couldn't take the last half seriously at all with its inconsistencies and plotholes.

There are a lot of cheesy teenage romance scenes where I laugh despite they are supposed to be emotional. These scenes are usually being the end of the drama and I laugh at how stupid these characters are.

I chuckled during Goblin Slayer's rape scene due to how predictable it was.

To be fair, "emotional" can mean a lot of things given the context.

I'm afraid it wasn't. Alteast that's what I found while reading the forum discussion on this chapter.

Clannad made me laugh way too much, don't know why but I found ridiculous all the, so called, emotional scenes. Not saying the anime is bad per se, I'm just a little weird.

Same here. I burst out laughing at how absurdly melodramatic the scene where a certain character disappeared was. The signature Key brand sappy music, the over-the-top voice acting and crying, it was so freakin' obvious how hard it wanted to tug the viewer's heartstrings yet the barely developed characters and relationships only managed to make me laugh at how bad the whole thing was.

Another.

Miss me w that edgy shit. Reminded me of the movie 2012 where all kinds of ridiculous shit just happened. Didn't feel like the entire plot was believable at all, and I p much just laughed the entire way.

Also Mahou Shoujo Site. But I was just laughing to myself out of pity for sticking w that dumpster trash. Again, miss me w that edgy shit.

"Ever laughed during a supposed emotional scene?"

If it's poorly executed.
Happens a lot lately.

On the other hand the scene from OPM described by the OP is supposed to be funny if you ask me and disgraceful for that character.

I do that a lot.
Recent example would be domestic na kanojo where last ep was supposed to be emotional.

Yes. Definitely in ReLIFE Kanketsu-hen, that ending of episode 3 (i think), when that damn music started, i just laughed my ass off because of how bad it was and it did not mix well at all with the atmosphere of the scene lmao.

Only when the emotional moment coming out of nowhere or when it is badly implemented. I couldn't keep straight face on Kimi no na wa or Tate no Yuusha.

I dont know if that was in Citrus but there is this emotional build up and it gets completely ruined by a completely unfitting song playing suddenly in the middle of it
"This emotion is mine alone.
It is for Madoka alone." - Homura
or how I would descripe Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.

We're not going to watch this animated anytime soon....atleast not before 2021 (if the animators manage to cover the entire Marley Arc in 2020).
