Kinda expected it to be honest by this point. However, the story itself didn't interest me from the start and that's really too bad. | Season 2 eh? Seems the gender focus series are always just as popular in Japan than in the West. Pretty much by this point, Shinsaku already had his mind set as the push to cataclysm. And yet again, the Shinsengumi were still pawns in Master Shoin a.k.a Mugensai's large plan. Makes me think that their idiocy in helping Mugensai was just for show. The "epic" finale huh...which comes off as plain. To Be Continued...in Season 2 next year. |

| okay it ended by the clash of Takasugi & Mugensai... Looks like the next primal antagonist would be none other than Hijikata since he got the eyepatch of Mugensai! if there's S2 i'll still check it out! 4/5. 7/10. |

| It felt so rushed to me, couldnt find anything catch up my attention. It also threw the whole cast into the viewer's face, they just happen to be there for some reason and they (obviously) kept going with the flow, I didn't manage to grasp properly their personality as they all sounded so fake to me. The plot well, it was what it was, I just expected at least a bit of emphasis in the showdown, it happened too fast |
| Turning out their sensei was actually Mugensai was a real shocker and dramatic for me. I guess the story fitted perfectly since they gave us the backstory of his assistant or whatever she is to him. No wonder Mugensai wanted to recruit shinsaku so badly, I guess in other words he was doing it for him. I think at the end Mugensai wanted Shinsaku to be the one that kills him, because I mean the guy is way stronger than Shinsaku and has defeated him numerous times. To me Shinsaku wasn't the greatest MC when it comes to fighting, he was always defeated when coming across stronger opponents like Hijikata. Overall I think it was decent and I enjoyed it. The animations was perfect, the characters were okay but the plot was a bit wayward . I would watch, no I will watch season 2 as I'm intrigued by Seimei and the route the Shinsengumi will take. 7/10. |

| Sadly, there was no saving Shinsaku & Katsura's sensei. Personally, I would've chopped that woman's head off while I had the chance, as I still feel that their sensei would've never became Mugensai if he hadn't met her. Now that I've discovered that there's going to be a second season, I'm quite excited. |
