Whoah, that Kouhai slapped RBC! I'm shooked. But I'm so proud with RBC's bravery! I really like how she's hardworking although she's a klutz lol. The new RBCs are very interesting lol. This is a very nice ending, I really enjoyed watching this and hope to see more.

A lot of cells died. You can die any second in this world without warning. I thought the heatstroke episode was the most intense one. This one ups the pressure a lot. It's a tragedy.

The poor platelets trying to repair the body T_T

It's hard to be angry at those idiots in the headquarters for increasing the blood pressure resulting in the death of a lot of Red Blood Cells because that's probably what happens to the body in an accident like this. They're just doing their job after all but damn... a lot of lives were lost today.

There's really only so much a body can do to save itself. In times of tragedy like this, you really need to rely on external help. You could say it's like a miracle to these cells when something happens out of the blue during a dire situation.

This is such a great anime. I can't wait for the next season. 9/10

I hope there's an RBC as hard-working as the MC in my body. At first I was afraid there won't be a happy ending, hail to the blood transfusion!

I will show no mercy for you
You had no mercy for me
The only thing that I ask
Love me mercilessly

The human body is amazingly resilient 24/7. Whoever had that body certainly had a wild ride from start to finish... hemorrhagic shock of all things. As a current nurse, it just melts my heart seeing the super important functions of the cells personified or animated.

I really enjoyed it, tbh. Nice break from the grim realities outside.

WHAT ABOUT HER SENPAI!?!?!?!? We never saw her again, don't tell me she got sucked out D:

That finale was really something, never thought it would go like this but ye it was great.
Wonder what happened to MC Blood Cell's senpai though, tragic if she died.

Kane40 said:

Isn't that her near the end ? 🤔

Yeah, this is definitely her, she's got brown hair. It's so funny that she looks like a mother when her child is separated with her, panicly waving at RBC Hanazawa Kana like that lol.

Decent series, but could've been more consistent. Series just felt like it was getting old/stale as it went on without a lot variety. It was a unique and educational series though. 6/10

Nothing was really confirmed regarding the cause of the injury, but I'll stick with my assumption that the explosion last episode was a bullet entry wound

Anyways, they manged to elevate the tension a little for the finale and ended it with a valid method of returning things to some semblance of normality. Pretty decent overall

This was pretty damn bad, from generic shounen fights to painfully unfunny "comedy" scenes to the science info dumps. I watch anime because I dislike school, certainly not the anime for me.

2/10.

Great final episode with a happy ending. This was a good and educational anime although a bit repetitive.

RBC, Macrophage, Eosinophil and Platelets for love. <3

So they lost a lot of red blood cells, but reinforcements came in the form of a blood transfusion. "Luckily" all of our dear friends survived the almost apocalypse, so all ends well.

A quite unique anime, describing the cells of a body as people is an interesting idea. And I actually learned a lot about the different cells and what they do. Though the characters were a bit forgettable. 7/10

What a terrific episode was last two! It was good to see RBC having a rookie under her. RBC tried her best but the best thing happened when it was a danger. RBC never stopped and kept going. And finally everything is alright. Thanks to the Blood donation, they are safe now.

It was quite an adventure. Didn't thought this anime would turn like this. It was informative and also enough thrilled. Had a lot action then boring science book explanation. Enjoyed it though. :D

This series is incredibly awesome, and who is talking this is a guy that never liked school biology classes. I genuinaly can say that I learned a lot with this anime. And about the characters, no comments, all they are charismatics, funny and likeable (maybe except the bacteria).

9/10. Now is time to focus on Code Black

Certainly one of the more unique shows, I especially appreciate learning all the stuff about the human body although I most likely will forget about it in a few hours.

There are two things I greatly enjoy about Cells at Work.

I love seeing cells introduced early on, only to have their functions and origins elaborated in a later episode. It shows the human body as an interconnected network, and all the cells work together to keep the body functioning. In terms of the anime's narrative, it establishes characters and their relationships to create this tight-knit community, then slowly develops them one by one.

I also love how spoilers work here, where if you're familiar the medical phenomenon featured in episode, you can deduce the order of plot points. In that sense, it reaffirms knowledge of how a particular disease or injury works, but it also helps to establish drama for the characters. It's hilarious to see the steps of allergies, relating to what the anime's human is experiencing and comparing it to your own. It's also harrowing to know the steps of cancer or, in this episode's case, hemorrhagic shock, and to see the characters experience that in real time.

Cells at Work has a lot of issues of reused animation and cut corners, and the show absolutely takes artistic liberties in its metaphoric representation of bodily functions, but I love how information is presented in accessible and engaging ways. It's charming and cute, takes itself seriously when it needs to, but the show never strays too far away from its upbeat and optimistic outlook. I really appreciate that.

That transfusion came in clutch but AE3803 was the real MVP for hanging in there till the end.

This was the most charmingly creative thing for something educational ever. Never thought I'd ever be proud of my blood cells of all things lmao

It made my day after seeing how blood donation helps so many people. Before the pandemic, I regularly donated blood twice a year.

Glad to see 3803 RBC survived with kouhai-chan! And of course, it's a relief to see that the person survived :")

A fun and exciting final, i liked the new red blood cells that came along. I watched the show in the english dub and it was funny to see they all had country accents. It was sad to see so many red blood cells go.

Overall this show has been good, the animation was solid and the characters were cool. I will watch season 2 at some point.

6/10
