That was....actually kinda amusing. We got Metal Lee fighting in a match that got everyone wondering.

Hell, the crowd was even sold into it after seeing Metal Lee getting serious into the fight. Personally, I thought this was one of the more entertaining episodes. Hell, Metal Lee even got an approval from Might Guy!

Wasnt Metal lee already able to use the first few gates in the beginning of the show? That one time when shikadai tried to stop him with his shadow possession jutsu ?

I really liked this episode, especially the fighting style Metal adopted. It was very reminiscent of Rock Lee's drunken fist.

Hmm this was a pretty good episode. Metal's determination to overcome his anxiety as well as Lee and Guy's attempt to help him all combined to make his improvement an entertaining journey to watch. The match between Lee and Metal was also pretty impressive. Though not gone completely Metal at least took a step in the right direction.

Lol at when Guy, Lee, and Metal all hugged, and Lee said "this feels so nostalgic." That's probably what all the viewers, myself included, were thinking.

Anyway, it's good to see Metal take a step toward overcoming his anxiety. It doesn't seem to gone completely, which we saw at the end of the episode, but of course it's not going to be that easy. I really liked the fight between Lee and Metal, as we got to see a Drunken Fist-esque fighting style from Metal that even Lee struggled against.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

It's always the subtle details that make me enjoy the anime run... In this case it was this small detail:

Even the fire exit sign does the Naruto run.
Anyways, this episode was kinda amusing for a filler, but really. Why can't they update the OP and EP - they're so boring; they really gotta move on from this slice of life theme they got going on... And the anime too, it does them no good to be having these fillers that don't even contribute to the story; at least the Naruto series had fillers that were able to fill in the blanks or give greater detail. These fillers can't even do that, today's episode is probably the most useful filler we've had in a while; 'cause at least we know how Metal will battle against his anxiety. Whereas that whole débâcle of Cho Cho pining over an actor makes you want to give up this anime.

After the horrible Cho-Cho filler we got a rather awesome filler episode. I wish we'd get the real story tho, but at least this episode was good.

I loved it how Guy fell from the sky in that wheelchair. Also Guy's been living in that village for more than 40 years, and he forgot that there are stairs at the academy?

And Guy forgot the name of his greatest opponent he has ever faced. Writing it down, it just reminded me how he also kept forgetting Kisame's name. Funny detail.
The fight seemed also cool. At least for a filler, it was really cool.

The exit-sign was also funny. Now I think we have seen that sign before, but I'm really not sure.

And I thought Guy would name Madara; but then I forgot that he tends to forget his opponent's name; we all know how many times he forgot Kisame!!! The last part between Metal and Rock Lee was really good. Again made me feel nostalgic with the drunken fist in a new style!!!!!

Still skirting the topic of Metal's mother. Wonder how long they can keep this up lol

This was a fun episode. Getting more Lee and Guy focused episodes is always fun.

I felt the same way! This episode made me laugh and grin and feel so nostalgic. I have a soft spot for Guy, Lee and Metal. They are so silly and true to their character, which makes me a bit jealous, haha! It's wonderful they don't pretend to be someone else and strive to be the best version of themselves.

Unbelievable... the fillers are more exciting than the actual episodes.

I loved - loved seeing a great non-Boruto/Sarada episode. Finally, there is a focus on someone other than them, especially a child of one of the Rookie 9. Guy and Rock Lee's relationship has always been my favorite in the Naruto series and I'm so happy to see them extend the legacy in Boruto. The classic taijutsu fight scenes, as always, adds essence to the series. I swear we don't see them enough. I really hope the author doesn't neglect Metal Lee as the manga/anime continues.

One of the best episodes of the anime so far.

Typical "accepting yourself" episode.
Kinda funny to see how Metal got one episode to himself whereas Cho-cho got 3 episodes ^^

I hate to compare but, seeing them fighting their struggles to get stronger is kinda mehhh ridiculous compare to that naruto characters. It's kinda downgrading from 10 to 2 for me.

Here we go. I've heard much about this arc so I have high hopes for it.

  • 2:15 Judging by the episode title and the intro, I'm guessing this episode is going to be about Metal Lee. He's one of my favorites from the Next Generation characters, so I don't mind. Hopefully they build on his character a little more because right now he can be summed up as "Rock Lee... but with anxiety."
  • 3:01 Lee! Cool to see him again, it's been a while since he did anything on screen.
  • 4:45 Lee's like, "Goddamn, the kids are dumb these days."
  • 9:20 I was so ready for him to name-drop Madara for the nostalgia. Damn it, Guy...
  • 11:15 What is this, the Anxious Fist technique? Lmao. It's like when Rock Lee gets drunk.
  • 11:30 Well, his opponents were fighting like shit but I'm pretty sure Guy would have won even if they didn't. Man's a legend.
  • 12:13 Metal needs a therapist, to be honest. Anxiety isn't cured with a pep talk.
  • 16:22 Poor kid, this has to be traumatizing for him. I know what that's like because I was forced to perform on stage several times in school with my stage fright and I hated it.
  • 17:05 It's insane how much Metal looks like Tenten here. And yet, she's not his mom. How?
Rating: 5/5

I loved this episode. Lee and Guy have always been some of my favorite characters in the series, so it was awesome to get an entire episode with them. Metal is cool too, and I feel like he can become really strong if he overcomes his fears.
