The Big Mom Assassination Plot is revealed!!
and one of my favorite villains Caesar-er, Gastino is back! this is where this arc really starts getting spicy!
I also liked the quick shot of some of the guests from the wedding, including a certain awesome bird!
I don't know if it was some error on the subtitles but I couldn't understand what will be luffy's role in the assassination plot, can someone explain it to me please? other than that nice to see ceasar again, made me remember that I have to finish my cosplay of him (didn't even started it actually)

A quite slow first half but at least in the second one they covered everything we needed to learn regarding Big Mom's weakness and the assassination plan. Also, we had Gastino there. The gangster we need but we don't deserve lmao Next week's episode seems more like the calm before the storm so I don't expect much from that one.
Lol, I was surprised when I saw Caesar there, he fooled me for a second.
Seeing Bege act like that in front of his baby was funny, I love when brutal characters change like that.
Three hours for the tea party and this guys are still making the plan. I can´t believe that the plan is gonna be ejecutated like this, there is sometthing that's gonna go wrong.
I hope it won't took to long before the tea party starts. Atm it feels a little bit tedious.
At least some interesting things got mentioned in this episode. Damn so that guy with the spiky hair was Ceasar? Lol I definitely didn't notice him, just like Luffy :D
Of course Luffy wanted revenge for Pekoms. Fortunately Jimbei handled the situation. Hmm I didn't expect Big Mom having a weakness. Would be interesting to know more about that person on the picture. She must be really important for Big Mom.
So Ceasar build a weapon to kill Big Mom, but will this really be enough? I'm not sure about that.
Luffy as bait and with the most important role for this plan. Curios what Bege wants him to do exactly. At least Luffy was agreed to do it.
The tea party will be awesome because of this assassination plot! Gastino AKA Caesar skill in creating highly toxic substance (to be used as weapons) is useful for once...
just how long will this arc last? to be frank, it was boring from the fight between the small jack and big zou.
if not for a lot of info about sanji's past, i would have put one piece on hold. i am already starting to forget zoro team, the guy kidnapped by yonko beast king and the plan to take down shanks, the team to find pineapple guy of wb pirates, the son of white beard?, etc...
I was hyped as fuck for the world leaders meeting ( i am seriously interested in the blind admiral screwing up the shichibukai system and how it affects the buggy pirates) and i see no reference in this whole damn year. where's the mermaid princess, the princess with duck from alabasta? where the hell is aokiji the ice guy? what happened to doflamingo after sengoku and team fought? what happened to fucking dragon and sabo after blackbeard destroyed the secret hideout?
although, return of jimbei and caesar did manage to keep my interest up. brook's cool too. there are just too much stuff on hold right now.. i understand the emotional thing of sanji and luffy, but IMHO luffy and robin(water 7), luffy and usopp(water 7), luffy and nami(arlong park, the arc that hooked me to op) are a lot better than this arc. because... there is too much stuff happening in this world that's completely just on hold... just get this cake arc over already..

is this arc finished in manga, atleast?
The arc is still ongoing in the manga too but it's reaching the end now. So don't expect this arc to end in the anime this year.
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy
A very well-thought-out logical plan. Sadly, No plans go smoothly in the presence of the Strawhats. Especially if Luffy has the most important vital role.
Carmel? Big Mom called her mother. Is she Big Mom's mother? Are we going to get some backstory on the origins of Big Mom soon? I am really curious to learn more about her.
The meeting with Bege thoroughly impressed me. It has so many things going that it's not easy to talk about so I think I'll do it in chronological order. To set the stage, we know that it is crucial and weighty for the upcoming mission. Further the direction and the theme song playing had an air of cool gravitas! Yet it was chaotic and sweet and intense and hilarious! While Luffy is eating casually, Bege threatened all of their lives, and yet again- Sanji uses the importance of his life to keep control of the situation. From there, we had the incredibly sweet notion of how Jimbei compliments Luffy, something only reinforced as the scene continues. While being a mature and principled man, he puts full faith in Luffy’s gut and asks him what they should do. It is a level of respect which transcends the fact that both of these characters have mere opposite methods, logical and emotional / principled and headstrong.
After building up such an important and heavy tone, it's shattered as Luffy is distracted by freaking Caesar of all people! That long pause and rejection to answer the question of alliance, and instead to focus on this mad scientist was already making me cackle, but it was three-layered, Caesar pulled off that horrible act as Gangster Gastino, and despite literally everyone being shocked that he is being that obvious, Luffy didn't realize it. Of course we should know that Luffy is gullible, believing the fake Straw Hats, believing Sogeking is a different person, believing that Foxy wearing a horrible mask is another person. Still, the amount of layers made it funnier and funnier and the fact that it came after such a serious moment made it even more so, and it’s great to see Caesar again. He is the epitome of making an emotional, utterly deplorable pretty boy for the audience to feel guiltless as they revel in his suffering. The perpetual hostage trade that has gone on since Punk Hazard is a wonderfully comical decision. He was so stressed out about seeing his previous captors that he tried to put on an alter ego….
Luffy declaring that he may work with Bege but only after he punches him was hilariously brash and chaotic. However it was then that Jimbei stopped all out war from sparking; as alluded to, this is the reinforcement of how Jimbei compliments Luffy. While fully respecting Luffy's inclinations and suicidal will power, Jimbei knows how to help Luffy progress his plans smoothly. And Luffy should have enough faith in his friend Jimbei to trust him! It’s an incredibly strong dynamic for teamwork. And for Bege to unflinchingly withstand this chaos painted a strong picture for him too, it gave him a distinct presence as an anchor in the room. With that, a three sided alliance has been made between three people who don’t like each other. And that’s just the first half of the episode!!!
The second half was the actual plan! Bege outlined exactly what they have to do, as always in fiction this means it cannot go smoothly, yet where it will go wrong is the interesting part. Further, so is the way that it actually works. Caesar made three poisonous gas launchers, meaning all three will be used at some point, and the gas destroys the skin meaning if it got inside of Mom, they presume she would truly die. However, she is like an iron balloon, perhaps reminiscent of Gear 4 Luffy. So they have to weaken her and have a period of 5 seconds until they shoot her. The way they will do this is through shattering a treasure of Mom’s, a person's portrait named Mother Carmel, someone mysteriously close to Mom who went missing. It is so dear to her that she releases all of her defenses, devastated like no other time. My first thought about hearing that woman's name was that Pudding owned a shop named Caramel if I recall. This made me wonder if it was named after her but the names may be different and a pure coincidence after all.
During this all, I was thinking about how stone cold and scary Bege was, controlling everyone, never showing weakness, putting everything on the table like it's simple business for him. I mean Caesar threatened to murder his baby to his face and he looked relatively unphased, he's a man of composure. He described empathy as useless shit, and I feel like he can be a bit of a machine. And right after thinking this, Pez started crying. I burst out laughing as we got to see him doting his baby boy again. The first time we saw him calm his baby down, I had to wonder if it was genuine compassion that we saw or if he was simply doing his job. I even had a notion that after this is all done he would abandon Chiffon and Pez; only becoming a family so he could assassinate Mom. This beautiful moment where he threw away his composed and cold demeanour as if it were nothing and nearly killed everybody by throwing the weapon in the air proved that he does have feelings that are actually overwhelming when it comes to taking care of his boy. Continuing in baby talk afterwards played on this side of Bege fantastically, merging it with the side we’re used to, and later in the scene we saw a third side to him. When he was talking about the news of Mom’s assassination spreading, he had a depraved smile, one which reflected the kind of smiles that Caesar made as he was celebrating the fact that he could kill everybody in the world. I think in this scene we got a great understanding of his character. He is not just a stone-cold and cunning mafia businessman, nor is he just a psycho who loves killing powerful people, nor is he just a loving father to a fault, he is all three of these!
I don't know if I've written this much about a One Piece episode in a while but I feel like there was so much going on in this one that it was completely warranted. On top of the pace and the energy, my favorite parts may be obvious in how strong of a case was made for Jimbei, and in how I think I fell in love with how human Bege felt from this one succinct conversation! His demeanor was strongly sold and his contrasting desires and emotions made him feel real, like a person seeking fulfillment. But of course, the real reason I loved this episode was because it was a long conversation bleeding with characterization and organized crime, two of my biggest biases. I look forward to seeing whats to come.
The meeting was interesting, with all the plans, it felt like a long episode since I had to keep pausing and taking breaks from my excitement.
The interaction with Luffy and Caeser was hilarious xD, I want to see more.
Caesars heart has been getting abused too in a funny way

No matter how well-thought of their plan is, they definitely won't be able to assassinate Big Mom in such a short timespan. Besides, if she ended up getting killed then and there, where's the fun in that~?
I don't know where Caesar went but I'm really liking this Gastino guy!
The assassination plan from Bege sounds too good to be true.
It's One Piece though, something or someone gonna ruined the plan for sure.
It's never gonna be smooth with Mugiwara involved lol
