UPDATE: MAL’s Mobile App is now in Open Beta! Anyone with a compatible android device is free to install via the Google Play Store and try it out! I’m excited to announce the introduction of MAL’s newest development, our very own mobile application! This is one of our frequently asked for features, and I’m thrilled to see it here! We’re starting out only on Android phones (sorry Apple users, you’re soon!) We’re also now in open beta, and no more restrictions on who can access the app! Thank you MAL supporters for your help testing the closed beta! Second, MAL Supporters will be the first members to get access, acting as beta testers and providing crucial feedback to help smooth out any kinks or issues we didn’t discover during the build process. That said, if you’re a MAL supporter, expect to receive an e-mail with follow-up information. For everyone else, we're shooting for a public release in March. If you’re looking to get your hands dirty and can’t wait to try out the official app, sign up for MAL Supporter, it helps us in many ways! While this is a huge milestone for the MAL team, I want to stress that this is still a very early stage for the app, and will not have all the features you expect or want it to. | Its awesome news coz the site is slow and it will be convenient through app. Just wishing it will have all the features which are on the site then maybe there will be less users on site. Omedetougozaimasu minna! |

| I only use MAL on mobile so this is good news. That being said, I particularly do not have much issues with mobile site except for it breaking down into desktop view you try to view notifications. I guess the only thing I will be looking forward to is smoother interface, since mobile site seems to lack that. |

| Great! I'm currently using Pocket MAL but would happily switch over once March comes around. I guess we might see certain features that the third-party apps couldn't add due to limitations, too? |
| I was lurking through the comments and saw a lot of comments about access to the forums, messages and comments so wanted to put my two cents in. While the app starts out as simply a database app, that doesn't mean it will stay that way. A lot of work goes into making applications, so we need to be patient. It may take some time before we get all of the features that we want, and that's understandable due to the time and effort it takes. Just try to be patient and be thankful that we've finally got an official MAL app :) It's also quite exciting to see how it first appears and how it will grow in the future. Thank you very much for all of the hard work you've put into running this site and developing this app. |
