At least Aoshi gets attempted redemption. That's something, right?

Sanosuke was freaking awesome in the ship battle! He definitely made his presence loud and clear to Shishio. Those bombs, I couldn't help but smirk because of the guy who made them, he's never going to change lol. Saitou's decision-making, Kenshin's intuition, and Sano's unpredictability... a team effort indeed. Neither Kyoto nor Tokyo is in danger at the moment and just as Saitou said, the casualties were less than 1% (which is a lot for Kenshin though).

Also, the second half had a really good atmosphere. The discussion about Aoshi was enlightening and I look forward to seeing the future Kenshin/Aoshi moment in anime-form. The small scene with Kaoru and Kenshin on the roof was really sweet too. The interruption was hilarious, but very meaningful as Kenshin was reminded that he has so much support from everyone.

I had to screenshot that final shot of Saitou, Kenshin and Sano's backs at the end. Just so classic!

OHHHH MAAAAANNN the first 10 minutes of this episode were so intense! THE most intense moment so far after the gloriously epic Kenshin vs Saitou of episode 30. Sano finally solidified his skill both in Shishio's and Saitou's eyes. Sano is longer the whipping boy he has been for all this time; that was his moment in the sun right there. Just too awesome for words.

The icing on the cake was the heartfelt moment when Misao began to cry after Kenshin said he will bring Aoshi home. I began to tear up a little there myself.

I wonder if Kenshin is aware of Aoshi's new sword(s), either way it will be a nice battle, can't wait.

Well, the super warship Purgatory sure didn't last long x)
MFW lost against artisanal bombs.
I mean, that moment when you lose half your fortune in less than 30 seconds... I feel bad for Shishio investors.

You know Kaoru, you normally don't tell an MC to come back alive. That's always a flag for complication. It's obvious that he'll survive, but still.

Quite a solid episode and with a lovely ending! Very interesting development as of now, so I really do wonder what the next episode will offer!

It's just sad that the Purgatory didn't last long. I expected our trio to fight along the decks and Sano punching his way to the engine room where he could blow it up. Sad that just a mere toss of those bombs was enough to wreck the ship. Expected more.

about aoshi: it's nice to see that kenshin saw some redeeming qualities on him, also this conversation marks a point in the japanese era where men just don't think evrything that was strained the path or reveal against must be killed. it's very important philosophically speaking!

the live action thingy ends shishio here in this boat so there aren't Mt. hiei arc wtf?! they said they follow the source material but now i'm not sure about it, i personally hated those three live action movies!!

Kinda pathetic how Shishio has that fat and clumsy underling on his elite team for the super secret battleship. Couldn't find anyone better?

The animation was all over the place and dub tried new voices in the middle of the story.
