THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Watched in Japan.

Being one who has almost no understanding of the HF route, was still enjoyable for me.

Was surprised to see some of the development even though I've heard about them before.

Indeed a worthwhile watch and many mysteries unsolved. 8/10

1. At what point did the movie ended in story?

The mangaka has taken liberties even before.I would not look too deep into it.Anyways, the major ones will be there during 2nd move timeframe so we will cross the bridge when it comes.

They were 53 minutes each, the rest were 45 minutes.

But now when I look at it 2 hours x 3 times is 6 hours.

That's 18 standard anime episodes. without intro and outro. Giving that HF is almost as long as Fate and UBW ( 1 day difference in the novel ) I wonder what will be cut out later on, seeing how sex scenes are already out and it seems they will put in some anime original scenes.

Well as long as this is finally animated it's ok I guess...

They went fast motion for the longest part of every fate movie/anime so far: the day it all started. They added more backstory for when Shirou and Sakura met instead.

HF actually has the most text afaik, but 6 hours is more than enough for an adaptation, the original anime had to add stuff that wasn't there and didn't cut out all the time waste Fuji-nee makes.

As people said before, it ends when Saber turns into Saber alter, and because there weren't so many long fights until that point they made some longer so it's not all talk.

Also 10/10 mapo tofu porn. If you buy the pamphlet, the recipe is included.

I have a question for anyone who's seen the movie: should I wait for HF before watching Zero because HF spoilers, or can I just dive into Zero. In other words, did ufotable change HF so that watching Zero beforehand is better for the viewer? I have seen DEEN Stay Night and UBW (both versions).

If i remember correctly, fate/zero also came out before ubw. But either way, if you have already seen the other two routes, there isn't any reason you shouldn't see fate/zero now. Fate/zero is a prequel of all three routes and technically it is fine to see zero and then watch the three routes in order of release. Plus, fate/zero is the best adaptation out of all the fate releases (although heavens feel might beat it, i guess we will find out in a couple of years or whenever it finishes). So yes...watch zero now.

Thanks for the reply, but my concern was whether ufotable modified the HF story so that spoilers originating from Zero are a non-issue. The HF story in the VN is spoiled in some aspects by Zero (apparently), so people make a point to wait for HF first. Of course, I suspect ufotable assume you have seen Zero in the HF movies, so it should be OK to jump into Zero, but I'm just awaiting confirmation from somebody who has actually seen Presage Flower so that I know for sure that this is the case, because if they are sticking close to the VN it may be a good idea to stick it out just a little longer ;)

From what I can remember, there are two big concerns that might be spoiled if Fate/Zero is watched before, and one of them is already spoiled in both 2006's series and UBW (the truth of the grail). If you really can wait till all the 3 parts of HF is released (+ additional time needed for the release of Bluray if you're unlucky like the rest of the world), then by all means, wait.

If you can't then just watch Fate/Zero now.

Here's my guess:
While I was watching UBW, it felt like ufotable intentionally made UBW anime something that should be watched after their Fate/Zero series. If that is the case, then watching Fate/Zero right now won't be much of a problem.

I wouldn't recommend watching F/Z first in that one of the plot twists that F/Z spoils should be in the second movie. I'm willing to bet there won't be any important twists left to worry about once you're done with the 2nd movie. I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I read the vn so my memory is fuzzy.

F/SN focuses on the main characters, foreshadowing, the complex background and relationships of its characters, major revelations/twists about them, etc. You've watched Fate and UBW, so you should be aware how much emphasis characters can get. For instance, Archer gets a lot of attention in UBW. In other words, there's a lot of depth and revelations.

On the other hand, F/Z is mostly about the plot - the events of the 4th war. You already know what to expect. Basically, you see how the events unfold, Kiritsugu gets some characterization, and get to understand why Saber holds certain opinions (e.g. about Kiritsugu, Kirei, etc).

F/SN carefully foreshadows twists and secrets about the characters. Some things are set up for the whole novel and only revealed in the final route. What F/Z does is basically spoil these twists in the most matter of fact manner in the very first episode.

Now, the movie isn't exactly the same - it seems the pacing has been improved, some fights that didn't appear in the novel are in the movie, and some scenes were left for the second movie. Aside from that, the movie is relatively faithful. The mysteries haven't been thrown out the window just because F/Z contains spoilers.

On a side note, it's not F/Z spoils exactly how the events unfold in HF. The problem is that it has a direct impact on your expectations and how you see certain events, since you'll know things you shouldn't. You won't know the events of UBW if you know Archer's identity, but oh boy, is that the worst spoiler you could read!

Anyway, I think I wrote a little too much. I hope this helps you make up your mind and understand why vn readers say you should experience HF first if you care about spoilers at all.

I'm pretty sure the Ufotable adaptations are being written in such a way that you NEED to watch Fate/Zero to understand Stay night. The amount of story in the latter is quite impressive, considering it's a porn game.

First, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. In an interview with Nasu and ufotable's staff, they explictly said that they're adapting UBW as a Fate/Stay Night, not a sequel to Zero.

Second, F/SN came first. You NEVER need Zero to understand it.

Thrid, lol F/SN isn't a porn game. It's as much of a porn game as Game of Thrones is a porn series. Also, Realta Nua.

Your comparison is quite apt. The only thing that must be done is for me to capture Tohsaka Rin, cut off all her hair, strip her naked, and march her through Fuyuki City while I berate her with chants of "SHAME!"

They got further than I thought they were going to, honestly, that's probably a good thing so they don't rush later.

Also are the sex scenes still present? I mean the more important ones happen later, but it'd be interesting if they kept the Rin one haha.

Archer is actually really important in the route but not in speaking roles
"I like young-girl sexual creations, Lolicon is just one hobby of my many hobbies," he says.
I ask what his wife, standing nearby, thinks of his "hobby".
"She probably thinks no problem," he replies. "Because she loves young boys sexually interacting with each other."

Adult game is a better English term for calling these type of VN.
The nuance of porn is referring to sexual gratification while that isn't so for FSN.
If a game is mainly about sex that is a nukige, which carry the same nuance as "porn" game.
People label all +18 as eroge only for the sake of easier usage.

This is bait, but I'll take it. There are only one or two shoehorned sex scenes per route. And none of them are the focus. If the end goal of the show was to see how Shirou gets his dick wet, then it would be a pornography. But seeing as you can basically take out any of the sex scenes a la Realta Nua and absolutely nothing about the show changes, then it isn't a porn game. A pornography basically structures a barebones plot around the sex, whereas F/SN works on its own merits without the sex.

He isn't exactly right but think you didn't really understand his point(good job trying to draw this convo further away tho), every eroge has some of those scenes at the end of those routes just for the sake of pandering, the fatty content. The actual content is not really dependent on the h scenes and I can read Realta Nua if I want to really appreciate the story without those, doesn't matter. The romance was very cute, but rin teaming up with shirou looked so awkward and jammed in than other routes.

Also ___ killing everyone was pretty distasteful but it's still my favourite route due to the revelations and development of sakura and shirou's character dynamic. I loved everyone yelling at the mapo tofu scene. 6-7/10.

Are you serious? Stay night is borderline pornography compared to rated M games or R-rated movies.

I'll just quote myself:
"The amount of story in the latter is quite impressive, considering it's a porn game."

How the fuck can people like you even survive in today's society? Not agreeing with your opinion isn't necessarily bait, you fucking retard.

Calling a story that most certainly isnt porn just because it has 2 or 3 sex scenes in 50+ hours of reading, regardless of the reasons, isnt bait.It is just retarded.

Bottom line is that FSN isnt centered on the sex, isnt filled with it and you can easily read it without it as well.

There is nothing "adult" about it lol, the very usage of h scenes in routes(apart from HF some scenes) are just for pandering.

I often see people call F/SN a porn game ironically on forums, so it's not unprecedented for it to be bait. I apologize. You weren't consciously trying to bait me. You're just really immature, calling something with only a few sex scenes a porn game, and willing to call people retards over misunderstandings. You say I cannot survive in society, but I wonder how anyone in society can stand you. But enough, I've seen enough topics like this that I know that no good will come of arguing this further.
