In other words, I'm curious what types of artists exist that are of some asian descent (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.) and preform in English. I would also (obviously) like them to be good. Examples of some I've found that I like;

SO yeah. Any more like this?

Maaya Sakamota also does English rather good. But she usually sings in Japanese, so you'll have to look around to find the ones in English.

I'm surprised no one mentioned YOSHIKA (then again, I have yet to meet a single person who knows who she is).

She sings in both Japanese and English, sometimes a mixture of both. She's mostly an R&B artist, though I find her tracks more relaxing and soothing.

Finding her albums will be very tough though. You can buy them on iTunes with the exception of one of her earlier ones (Timeless) if you want.

BoA has a dance/pop album that's all english. It sounds pretty good but she seriously need a better lyricist. Even for dance pop some of it is pretty ridiculous.

She's a filipino singer. the last one's her US single i think.

Joanna Wang if you like the lounge-y kind of music.

Blue Scholars. On the political side if you mind that at all.

i grew out of my "OH MY GOD JAPANESE MUSIC~" phase a few years ago, but i really like hiza:ki (no, not the terrible visual kei artist) although the english pronunciation is questionable at best.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwaLilXXuew -- just a normal link because i can't be bothered to figure out how to embed it.

still, i think they're awesome.

Yuna Ito! She's probably one of the only singers I think is amazing in english and japanese. She's very fluent in it. Well, in her english lines in the song from the movie Nana anyways..

Asobi Seksu's singer is Japanese IIRC. They have both Japanese and English music. I don't know if they should be considered "Japanese" though.

They actually just played at my school. I need three "cultural" events, and I figured being the anime watching faggot that I clearly am, I probably would have had the easiest time at an event like this. I probably should have gone...

Good song. The ending beats it by a longshot, though.

Heard them, they butcher the engrish sometimes, but when compared to other performers they are much better at it.
