A 10 year old boy in Everett, Washington was hospitalized after being buried by people imitating Naruto. The boy was buried head first in a sandbox in a 1 foot (30.48cm) deep sandbox. He was buried from his head to his chest in the sand; he supposedly started thrashing, but the other kids just thought he was playing. When they finally got him out, they had to perform CPR until the ambulance was able to take him to the hospital. The boy is currently listed in critical condition.

It seems that the boy has been pronounced dead after being in the hospital in critical condition.
"He passed peacefully, with his family at his side," the boy's family said in a statement. "We appreciate all the support and prayers that we have received."

I saw this on CNN a few hours ago and was pretty sure the "cartoon" they were referring to was Naruto. Apparently the kids thought he would gain ninja powers to control sand if he was buried in it? Good job on the parenting there.

LOL, I just watched the news video and they are showing Ghara during the Chunin exam killing people with his sand :P

I am pretty sure if the kid was trying to imitate that, he wanted to die!

NOTE: The Kid is the one who asked his friends to bury him in the sand!

They're 10 year olds. Their little brains are physically incapable of much in the way of rationality.

If they were a few years older, I'd be facepalming as hard as the rest of you.

They should warn the people that watch Naruto.
Warning: Don't do this if you are not a 'REAL' ninja. :/

Why are kids so retarded. When I was 10 years old I'm sure I was doing something sensible to hurt myself, like running into a treebranch. (true story).

Hmm. When I was 10 years old I was really afraid of doing anything to injure myself so I didn't take any risks at all (although I did accidentally injure myself several times, like falling down stairs and stuff). Now anime is gonna be stereotyped as violent even more?

omg, if the parents blame Naruto, the kid is to blame. What is he stupid?! If you're going to imitate Naruto……at least understand this [talking as if the kid would understand] Naruto is a ninja, he trained very hard to do that. Naruto is Japanese, you are obviously white, and a ten year old, no way in hell you can pull that off. -.....-;;

Children. Sure I've heard of learning the symbols but sheesh…idiots.

I doubt it would had attracted these kinds of comments from the media if it wasn't an anime. I mean, what exactly was so disturbing in that scene? Honestly, I've saw more disturbing things on Carebears for crying out loud =o

LOL...so what's new? It's not the first time, and it'm sure it won't be the last, that you've heard of a kid getting hurt, or even killed himself, for copying stuff from cartoons or other TV shows.
Kids will be kids, parents should help them understand what's real and what's not! Don't blame the show!

Oh boy..just what's needed..more stereotypes and the demand for the ban of anime..it's the parents fault for letting the stuff go to the kid's head..."Now Johnny, you CAN'T do that, you try that, no more Naruto for you!" "Yes, mommy..."

This holds a positive arguement for just allowing natural selection to take due course...
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:
"Oran Solus? I know him. What a wanker. He still owes me a tenner." Oscar Wilde
"Oran, you're so intelligent and awesome <3" Bakayaro
"Oran's sexy." LolitaDecay
"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna
"Oran is a Hand-Eye you faggots." EddieSpaghetti
"Oran for Prime Minister." the_prime_one
"Oran is all that is stated in his sig and more." orbitzz
