So far we have not found anything on origins of his power. However, it is clear that he was probably born with these powers.

As this series is a parody of american comic book heroes and typical shounen fighting genre don't you think they would try to make a parody of the most famous franchises of both??

Let's take the most famous franchises

Dragon Ball (Goku born with super strength alien)
Superman (born with super strength alien)

I believe that he has a fighting spirit something that all humans posses but only few have the capability to utilize it. Saitama on the other hand mastered it by evolving like they did in dead pool if you watched it, not really a spoiler because its in the x-men movies and such but if the body was to go through extreme stress it grants a mutation and powers much like how Mob was the most powerful Esper among all others because of the stress of being emotionless. Much like Mob, Saitama is emotionless which is stress enough along the fact that he went through hellish training everyday to the point of breaking his body and thus led for him to unlock his inner potential and mutate his body to utilize that power and help contain it.

Basically, it's explained that every living being has an power limit and that Saitama just surpassed his limit through training. The next arc's villain(Season 2's, if they don't do anything weird) almost does the same.

The whole thing with an unbeatable Saitama, whose power comes from mere restless training, is an allegory and actually is not important in here. The main thing is the world around Saitama, not his adventures.

Exactly, from my understanding he literally broke his power limiter and his destiny with sheer will power, making him nearly godlike in the context of the anime. I'm looking forward to the 2nd season rival.

its in the wiki, well its still just a theory by a character Dr. Genus. so technically from the franchise perspective, its not yet revealed whats really is his ability

heres a copypasta from the wiki:

Saitama began training to become a superhero 3 years prior to the start of the series after he defeated a crab-like monster that attempted to kill a child. His training regimen consisted of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10 km run every single day, while also refusing to use the air conditioning and heat to strengthen his mind. Saitama genuinely believes that this training is the source of his inconceivable physical prowess, much to the disbelief of other characters in the series who note that his methods, while obsessive, are still fundamentally basic workout routines. The gross disproportion between Saitama's training regimen and the magnitude of abilities he developed has led other characters to theorize that Saitama either possessed latent superhuman qualities that manifested through his training, or that his sheer willpower has removed his natural limitations to growth potential entirely, according to Dr. Genus.

He already said it's from doing 100 push ups, 100 squats and 10km running every day for 3 years. I'm pretty sure the whole point is that it's so ridiculous a human being doing that would be so strong as a result. Not anything hidden that tries to make sense of it. That would ruin it if anything.

His first monster opponent became one from eating too much crab for christ sake.

That's not even that hard of a workout... I could almost do that and I'm a lazy anime watcher ( I could have done it while I was still in cc)

One punch man is a satire of shounen. All main characters in shounen have invincible plot armor. There isn't actually a conflict in fight scenes. You know the main character isn't going to die. That's what OPM criticizes so heavily. You don't need to create fake drama that the main character "might" die, because the viewer knows they won't. You can make awesome fight scenes completely ignoring the tension of death.

ONE has decided to visualize that plot armor instead of pretending it doesn't exist.

If you run 10 km every day youll eventually destroy your body

I used to be in cc... 10 km a day won't really destroy your body.
You're better off taking a day off as it will help your muscles grow better
And you might get bad knees (depends a lot more on form and the surface you run on)

But my varsity cc team would run at least 5 miles (bout 8 km and those where the EASY runs) 6 days a week and this also includes speed days which are much harder on your body than just running distance, (farthest I've run personally is 22 km at once)

but I also ran all-year and I was in good physical condition then
It depends a lot on what you're used to but it would take more than 10k a day

Edit: Reddit isn't the best link but they're the only ones who even bother to ask if it's bad I guess

That is not possible. Why? Because that's way too fucking normie. The only possible answer must be fucking absurd to be right.

Saitama is unreal; most of it is not. Saitama himself is the manifestation of raw power attained through nurturing and willpower, he is not actually the focus of the story, but the main story are those events revolving aroung him and the fellow heroes he meets. He is a metaphor. Though the metaphor defeated an extra-terrestrial overload, so...

The series takes place on a planet that is not Earth. So yeah, Saitama and every other character are aliens if you see it that way.

I prefer to think that Saitama is actually a normal human who has surpassed the normal limits imposed on mortals, the explanation that he is an alien takes away the fun, but that's just my mere opinion.
