THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Lol Bernard and her interest of books never ceases to amuse me regardless of the price.

That imaginary scene made her look somewhat older than her regular self.

What's with that "100-yen rule" book picking? And that "Spoiler", THANK GOD I'm not having drinking that time. Or else, I'll spill it for sure. LOL

When I'm looking for books, I always try to find the cheapest one. I'm too cheap to buy at full price.

This ep actually touches upon a subject I've never seen in anime, but see all the time in selling stuff: Perceived value. It's the "worth" of a product to a consumer, yet, very often, has no relationship to the cost of actually creating it. As Bernard and company said, just by appearing in a used bookstore for a cheap price, a customer may think a book is not worth reading. Manufacturers, then, for non-used sales, often restrict how much of a discount the retailer may sell their product for, so that the produce doesn't have a "cheap" reputation. Apple, for example, does this with their products, while a no-name PC does not.
