Can't believe some people here picked the Cavs to win the finals. Some are probably forgetting that the Warriors were up 3-1 in last year's finals, and that the main reason they lost was because Barnes couldn't hit an open shot to save his life. Durant ain't missing those open shots.

If you're the Cavs, there's no way you're going to win starting a game like that. This game was very winnable for them if they controlled the glass better in the first half.

That being said nothing really surprised me about this game. Next game will probably be something similar. This Cavs teams clearly lack discipline on defense and barring any suspensions or injuries, this series will be over in probably 5 games. The only team that can beat this Warriors superteam in a 7 game series is healthy Spurs, but they need to steal something in a draft like they usually do, maybe a next Manu Ginobili xD

i heard the Cavs turnover the ball too much, no wonder Lebron wants more playmakers that can take care of the ball lol and also playmakers for making more ball movement to find the open man, the Cavs is not a team built for ball movement it seems unlike the Warriors

It's simple Lebron NEEDS to shut down KD if the Cavs have any chance winning this series.

Curry looked great too. I give Klay a pass for now, dude was locked in defensively, but he needs to find his stroke and rhythm.

Bring game 2.

LeBron can't guard KD AND be the Cavs main offensive weapon. No one on the Cavs can guard KD, what they need to do is let KD get his and try to hamper the rest of the Warriors.

What you said reminds me the 2015 finals when Lebron couldn't be stopped but the rest of the Cavs were shit.

Aside from Lebron everybody from the Cavs squad needs to step up and play some D and try to out-hustle the Warriors if the want to win the series. Game 2 will be interesting

What exactly could the league do to disallow it?

Everyone wants to form a Superteam nowadays.

Superstars don't want to work up their teams and wait to compete...they want to win NOW.

I'm a Heat fan, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite....part of this problem began when Lebron originally joined the Heat with the "Big 3"...

Now the "Big 3" isn't even enough....it needs to be the "Big 4".....

At this point we might just have 5 superstar athletes on the same fucking squad!

The NBA is doomed if this continues....it will become insanely top heavy and will mirror the European soccer leagues where every fucking year it's the same 2 teams competing for the title and all the "small market" teams are only good to build up players so when they're good enough they leave the small market and join the "Superstar teams".

Yes....it's a JOKE!

If Lebron and KD switched jerseys before the game LBJ would've scored 60 and blocked KD 5 times.

Even the most adept and great of Kings can't carry a team that was there for the free Gatorade. Kyrie might as well be injured againn.

If you think this Warriors superteam is bad, can you imagine the Lakers in a few years should they end up drafting Lonzo? Lavar is going to push hard for people to come to LA and get BBB endorsements, it's going to be rich. Not to mention the Celtics getting Fultz for sure this upcoming draft and maybe even signing Hayward or PG13 this offseason. I think the next decade could be the return of classic Celtics-Lakers finals.

the only reason the warriors are so stacked is because curry was underpaid because of his ankles

once he gets his max contract and deservingly so moves will have to be made though KD is open to taking less money to retain the core they have now

pretty sure the cavs have the highest payroll in the league

Not sure why some of you guys are hatting on KD when it was Lebron who really put this Superteam thing in motion.

KD had two options last year...

Stay with the Thunder and most likely lose again...

OR join the team you couldn't beat and have an easier path to a ring.

Remember...KD is in his 10th season this year...every "Superstar" has a limited "prime"...yes even Lebron will eventually start to diminish.

Guys don't want to wait...they don't want to become the next Barkley or Malone...they want RINGS!

And you can't blame them.

And to reiterate...I'm no hypocrite...I fully enjoyed when my Heat were on the top of the Basketball world.

Hell, I LOVED the fact we were "villains" and everyone was hating us.

It made winning those titles VERY satisfying.

But now that I'm on the "outside"....yes, it sucks, oh well, at least we cashed in and won 2 titles.

That was started by Kevin Garnett, although to be fair, his reception in Minnesota wasn't treated with ire like Cleveland/Oklahoma City. Fortunately the Wolves have a superteam in the making that could be all homegrown.

Tbh I see a lot of people putting a lot of hype on Lonzo but honestly he's not that good.. I don't see him being a really good player in the future, but then again I like Fultz and it's only a matter of preference really.. I hope he goes to Boston

That all starts with Lavar and BBB. I think teams legitimately see him as a distraction now and potential PR nightmare now with his father pulling all the strings.

Maybe then the league will FINALLY do something about this shit.
Make the max number of all stars FA signings limited to 2-3 a team or something else idk

We can only hope. As much as I want Lonzo to get drafted by the lakers and suck donkey dong, the NBA could definitely benefit from a renewed lakers-celtics rivalry. The NBA is too soft and the celts and lakers naturally don't like each other, so it would be exciting to watch.

The durantula is so fun to watch.

KD deserves his ring? Sure, a player of his caliber deserves a ring but the way he's gonna win it, that's not deserving imo. But oh well it shows that it's the only way he can win a ring if he joins a monster team like Warriors and he couldn't do it by himself. The ring was handed to him on a plate but again congrats to him if he ends up winning.

On the other hand, I have nothing but respect for Steph and if the Warriors end up winning which looks like it then he better get the finals MVP instead of that snake.

Your little asterisks are hilarious. It's cool that all you people would settle for a career finishing in second place but KD moving to a better team isn't any different than what a thousand other guys have done in sports history and in world history in general. Just because he moved from second to first doesn't make it monumentally different than if he moved from Phoenix or moved to SA to play under Pop. Plenty of guys would do the same if they could. You'd probably take a better job if it meant you'd be happier and not noticeably hamper your quality of life. At this point I'm sure 90%+ of the guys in the East would prefer to move to team LeBron just because you know you'll get to the Finals and have a chance at that chip. KD did what he thought was best for him and that's great. He deserves the outcome that he gets, winning or not.

What a fucking joke all you pointless haters are.

I'm not even a Warriors fan. Been Sonics all my life and have shifted to being more of a fan of players than teams but I want good things for the Thunder. When KD signed in Golden State I said, out loud, "Ah fuck, now I gotta root for the Warriors too."
