lol dat poll, though. Not even Dr House doesn't knows that many surgical procedures.

Anyway, I've a lumbar puncture when I had meningitis, and a couple of teeth extracted to fix my previously misaligned teeth.

I'm looking at this list and I'm just wondering which one I want to vote on. Not that I've had a surgery but any one of those buttons is tempting.
Just need to find out how to quote this every time so I can dodge the stupid 30-character limit.

I'm more impressed by the implant. If they're telling the truth.

I've had 4 wisdom teeth out so I guess that counts as tooth extraction, but it was pretty major and took a week or so to recover from because I had them all out at the same time.

I'll be getting my wisdom teeth out near the end of the year, what should I expect?

I never had to pull any wisdom teeth, but I've pulled 4 regular teeth (because my teeth would overlap at the lack of space) and they were supposed to use anaesthetics on each cheek at the time while they were pulling the teeth. Mine was done by an intern though, so she drugged the wrong cheek and in addition to that I had extra long roots (33mm to be exact), so it hurt like a bitch. They kept telling that it shouldn't be hurting because of the drugs and then later apologised after they realised their mistake.

So I think with the proper expertise it shouldn't hurt at all, but if you're unlucky, you'll in be for one hell of a ride.

OT: I think the correct term would be Arthroscopic elbow fusion. This was after I broke my arm.

Yes, I am a human vampire.

I think OP needs a brain surgery because the amount of effort spent on that poll. Seriously.

Ohh I actually looked at the options for a couple of minutes, then got impatient and scrolled all the way down. Fortunately, that was the right choice.

This was already mentioned before, but I've had surgery to get my wisdom teeth out. Only two of them were not growing properly, but I still had to get all four of them pulled.

I've had a surgery to close both of my growth plates.
I also had a very short eye surgery to remove a stye.

When I was around ten, I had a mole removed from my chin. It was benign, but I considered it a horrendous cosmetic flaw. Or my mother did. Likely the latter.

Secondarily, around October 2015, a massive lesion developed on my shoulder. It was presumably the result of an initial mole or slightly raised bump being mistaken for acne. Having picked it into oblivion for awhile assuming it was a pimple, it became infected and manifested as a group of bonded blood vessels, which formed a raised lesion. It was extracted by my dermatologist within the earliest part of the month of November. The surgery wound for it was pretty metal. Nowadays it’s scarred my shoulder and lingers as a keloid, but I’m too cheap to get it fully removed or to try and even begin to get rid of the scar.

I don't know the technical name for most of my surgeries but I've had a lot.

I had a circumcision because my father thought that I would want to look like him and my mom did not know any better.

My balls didn't drop in when womb like they are supposed to. They had to reach in and pull them down.

I was diagnosed with "neurofibromatosis" that means that tumors grow in my body that are wrapped around the nerves. They can't be removed without causes nerve damage which would paralyze the part of my body where it was removed. The condition leaves me with a facial disfigurement and causes complications in my eye and brain.

They have debulked the tumor in my left eye twice. The second time they also debulked my cheek and face. These surgeries damaged my tear duct and I have to take eye drops to lubricate it. I remember having a lip full of stitches. My face is actually held up by a sling now it's amazing you would never tell.

They putt the little plastic thing where my tear duct used to be to mitigate the dryness but it was so unconfinable that I rubbed it out.

They discovered that I had "Moyamoya" a disease discovered by a Japanese man that means puff of smoke. One of the vital veins in my head was thining and it could cause a seizure unless the doctors acted fast.

I realize braces are not surgery but hear me out. .The tumours pushed my teeth around so much that I could not speak, eat or even close my mouth properly.I was always given the option to wear braces but I refused them until grade 5. They made my life so much better and made my face look more normal.

They did this wired sugar where they laced the blend around some metal. I was stuck in the hospital with a tube in my head for days.

One afternoon I broke my femur (the big leg bone) in half. I had to get surgical pins and I was in a cast for months.

The tumors pushed some wisdom teeth towards the brain it was lucky they discovered this early for obvious reasons. A few months later they removed them.

it's been 5 years since them and no surgeries! I will be getting another debulking later this year though because my eye is slowly being covered by a tumor.

I had about 20 operations in total. (That's a whole lot of surgeries in that poll).
More than 13 ugi bandings. 1 hernia. 1 gall bladder removal. 2 other major operations. And a few other ones that i don't know the name to.

That poll is rather annoying, but I can't pass up a discussion about surgery. I have had 4 total, and I'm pretty sure that they were all before the age of 10. I had surgery on my throat to get a cyst out. I also had 3 surgeries on my eyes to correct strabismus.
the more you tried, the more you knew, this had been the way they’d built you, in the body of a ball jointed doll, you’re so fragile you can’t move at all

I was tempted to vote for all the patients I've treated...

Appendectomy but it's already in peritonitis mode rather than appendicitis since it already exploded inside my system. They needed to clean all my affected organs or else I'll die of infection. The surgery went smoothly and when i woke up they urge me to monitor my bowel movements for three days. I was on antibiotics and pain relievers for a couple of months until I cut it off myself since I have a high tolerance with pain. (I initially thought I was having dysmenorrhea at first that's why I ignored the symptoms of appendicitis. wrong thinking on my part)

It's almost two years but still hurts when I try to move or carry heavy things (which is forbidden but who's gonna help anyway). Tbh it still mildly hurts when I sit the wrong way. lol. After the surgery I also have an off and on fever which is normal they said.

Also the scar looked like I gave birth in caesarian (bonus plus because i have a keloid disorder which is nasty when the surgery wounds dried up).

The surgery itself wasn't that bad unless you have severe complication.

I had to get stitches on my forehead after falling on the track of a sliding glass door bathtub when I was very little.

I also had to get a throat infection treated when I was 18, which included having a needle poked in my tonsils, if that counts.

(future: I'm planning on getting my teeth done due to a disease that I inherited from both my parents)
