| Okay, everyone is so sure about that the book was a gift from Hide. It is a possibility, but there are other options (I actually like the theory about Hide being eaten or damn heavily injured by Kaneki in V14, but nevermind). Here's my take on it: 1. Kaneki already had a book signed for him. But heyyy, nobody knows what happened to his personal things when he was defeated. Someone, a friend maybe, might have just taken all his things including the book and kept it. And now sent this to him. Come on, surely there are more people than just Hide that know when is Kaneki's birthday. 2. I think Uta is a double agent. Maybe, just maybe, he somehow captured Hide and keeps him alive just to make Sasaki help him later on (you know, Sasaki is like "gonna protect everyone", and he would do everything to save Hide even if he doesn't remember him anymore) with some fighting or... you know. NOTE: On the other had, Uta might killed Hide and take the book from him. It would be completely stupid, but he's the guy who loves chaos, after all. 3. Remember Touka visiting someone in the hospital? I guess it might be Hide. He could get injured in V14 by Kaneki, maybe he ate a part of him, like a limb or something. Maybe, just maybe, he is in such a bad condition that he must be connected to all those weird hospital machines all the time to keep him alive and well. So he could gave her the book and told her to give it to Sasaki. And yes, by that I say he cooperates with :RE to save his friend. I'm not a conspiracy master, so these theories are pretty weak. Oh now I realised the note on the mask says: "Merry Chrismast, from Hysy" "Hysy"? The hell? I don't remember that at all. |

Kaneki gave another name, different kanjis, the translators, translated it as Kanaki. Later comes Hide who says "I am Ken Kaneki", Hide was the one who gave the complete name and spelling 2) For that to happen, Hide had to have spilled the beans of Kaneki's bday to Uta, so I doubt it. I think Hide would have preferred to die than give any info about Kaneki, plus this is Hide, a person who gave the slip up to a ghoul, put a tracer on another ghoul, and infiltrated the CCG 3) If he is so badly injured, connected to machines, how is he going to communicate with Touka? and the rest, well just read the post above. |

It's shaped like one and from personal experience putting a cloth over one to block out light tends to make any birds inside go to sleep. Nice to see Uta likes Kaneki. He just seems to be an enemy because a member of the group he belonged to is the reason Kaneki became a ghoul and had all those events happen to him as a result. So far he hasn't personally done anything to kaneki other than withholding information and letting kaneki find things out on his own. Most malevolent thing he has done so far is just not risking his life to help Kaneki save Anteiku and displaying a lack of remorse for a possible dead Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul. I wonder if the clowns even have a leader. Seems to me that the group is just a gathering of troublemakers who tell each other what they have been up to and invite other members to come along with them when they are planning something fun. |

| Very nice chapter. Seriously, Ishida, keeping it so mellow for most of the chapter and suddenly mindfucking us completely in the end. Nice. That Uta... if he was a question mark before, now I don't even know what to think. He's apparently working with Anteiku, is not the ''boss'' of the clowns, there some sort of plan involving Kaneki's resurrection in motion, yet who's to say Uta isn't just fooling Anteiku like before? Or is he one of those martyr characters that was good the entire time and was just keeping the Clowns on a leash? Seriously, I don't get this guy at all, probably one of the most mysterious characters I've ever come across. And the book? It's largely theorized it was Hide, which would be pretty cool if it was true, though then the obvious questions arise - he's alive?; how did he survive?; how did he know about Haise and Kaneki?; why does he even want Eyepatch to return? Eto could have truly sent the book as well, since she's also another frivolous character - she could want him to cause chaos in the CCG, want him to just return to being a ghoul for her amusement, want him to suffer, etc. Sigh... so many questions. This had better be longer than the original TG. 4.5/5 P.S: I would pay to see Arima one-panel Eto with an umbrella. |

| Why is everyone doubting Uta? When and where has it been said that he betrayed Anteiku/Kaneki or planned some bad stuff?Was that the last picture of him with a piece of human meat? I haven't really doubted him one bit. Uta's calmed down a lot since his teenage years, he said it himself that he didn't want to be the boss back then but someone had to, and he only wanted to open a mask shop. I'm sure he's with the clowns because he wants to know what's going on there. I personally think that he's the person that treasures his bonds with Reinji, Touka, Kaneki and others more than being a part of some sleazy group. There's an unofficial war between ghouls and humans right now after so many loses at the end of the first manga. Even Nishiki had to break up with his girlfriend because it wasn't safef anymore. I think everything's leading to one more big showdown. I think he might want to bring Kaneki back though, and here I'm not sure what he might do. |
