| Finally, Fuuta travels to Fortuna's past to have everything answered. As menacing as ever when he sees him in between the line of traveling, Fortuna leaves him with "Enjoy it ... and farewell." with an evil grin. A young East knocks at Fortuna's door. Questioning if he'll return to his parents after the Master kicked Fortuna out, to which Fortuna retorts in claim that he surpassed the master and now lives here in his research lab. East asks to be his apprentice but Fortuna refuses him when he can't see the young artificial spirit Rune. Rune calls him Fuu. Telling her to call him Master. Fortuna created Rune, an artificial spirit, which the master couldn't even do. Believing himself to be a genius and everyone else stupid. Raising Rune as a human, first training her to touch ghosts, she mistakenly catches East who can see her now after being touched. Now East becomes Fortuna's apprentice. With these tasks passing his boredom, people fearing him or thinking ill of him as being expelled by the master, Fortuna had learned that East only wanted to become popular. Flambe as spiteful and envious as ever (Fuuta's past brothers) goes to Fortuna to tell him that the master is calling for him where he learned she was dying from an illness and felt powerless in being unable to save her. Years later with the Master dead, East and Rune saved a baby who's parents were killed by wolves and brings her to Fortuna. A nameplate with Rei as her name, Fortuna refuses to call her Rei as the goddess of war, and changes it to Koko, the sage of snow as it's winter. As Koko grew with East and Rune as her parent figures, while Fortuna didn't care for her but only trained her as she had potential with spirits being able to see Rune. 'Never calling East father, time passed and his regret of being unable to save his master had healed. He was content but ...one day, East got the same illness as his Master. ... Surprisingly peaceful in some aspect... I wonder how he changed to be seemingly so evil. |

| Looks like Rune really doesn't want Fuuta to see Fortuna's past. Considering what was foreshadowed earlier, she has a good reason. Plus that means Fuuta'll be one step closer to death. Perhaps his master reincarnated into Ishigami. That line in the sky is peculiar. Could it have something to do with the Spirit Circle? On another note, I guess this is how he solves the illness problem that once plagued his master. By making the Spirit Circle. |
