| Funny decision to make. Either choice would cause a butterfly effect that would alter my whole world dramatically from the other. Manliness would be hard to find a coherent modern role model for. Alternately, growing up as a girl has its own unique challenges such as navigating the social expectations around value in sex and relationships instead of just trying to get laid. | The decision would largely depend on the setting I am being born in. In earlier times and certain places in the world I would without hesitation pick being a male over a female; however, there are certain benefits to being a woman that are useful in certain scenarios. Assuming I am being born in a liberal enough place like the U.S. I would leave the decision to a coin flip. It's turning out to be largely irrelevant what your gender is, and both genders have pros / cons in different scenarios, so it'd be more interesting to not be cognizant of the gender. |
