| Gah. This ep was funny but hit right in the feels. Mihoshi got a major win learning to change a diaper. Ryoko actually pitched in to help! Wow. But Washu. Man Washu. A major revelation from the 20k old genius. I got the feels. A new season of OVA starting off with an emotional bang. Overall: good comedy, more info about the fam, a decent new op and ed, and some foreshadowing. 5/5. Also adult Washu is hot. And what's up with Sasami? |

| This baby story is very typical of rom-coms but it was so nice to see (and learn a bit more about the last addition to the "family") that it did not matter. But watching it, it felt strange to think about Washu's behavior toward her "daughter" (probably created partly as a fill-in) Ryoko: she should be more willing to catch time with her or something. And it seems that the vision Sasami had about some unknown person (called Tokimi) in the bonus OAV from before wasn't for nothing. I'm inclined to think there will also be a thing around Tenchi's grandfather (as the miraculously safe heir prince). 4/5 |

| What I never understood back in the day is that Ryoko is a 2000+ year old space pirate who's never really had a sane life of her own trying to show her attraction for and love of Tenchi. She's quite pitiable. People will always say, "Man, Ryoko is annoying." Ryoko is trying to fit in like everyone else. All Ryoko knows is violence and acting like a man, a zombified attack robot. Sasami and Ayeka are miles ahead of her in terms of raising--of course Ayeka is spoiled and bitchy. And she constantly miscommunicates with Tenchi, to which Tenchi often responds with, "No, I don't like that," because he was raised in a warm, loving home. You feel sorry for Ryoko. Her heart is in the right place, she just doesn't know how to use it. You hope Tenchi will warm to her. She's trying so hard! |
