I wonder what the article means when Funi says they're releasing Initial D uncut, since if I recall correctly the dub didn't exactly cut a lot. I'm glad they're keeping the original music, since that was part of what drew me to the series in the first place.

I thought they released X before. I have the English dubs of it somewhere. I want to rewatch this now. I'm into old style CLAMP these days...

You all are missing the real news,

A few months back Funi held a survey to see what people wanted and one of them was a complete re-dub of Initial D, now if you look at the survey it had one other re-dub on it.

SAILOR MOON!!!!

We may see Sailor Moon re-dubbed and complete sometime next year.

WHAT?! There's a re-dub of SM next year?! That'd be awesome. Some parts need to be fixed from the old dubs.

You can buy X on Amazon for cheap. They're not that hard to find >_>.

I really don't care though as I have Initial D(minus 4th Statge) on DVD already and the Original 8 X DVDs with the slipcovers that were a bitch to get and the Limited Edition Book Remix versions. Haven't seen the remix versions though ;_;.

The 1996 film is pretty easy to buy still, though not the TV series. & i mean both regular and remix editions.

Example: http://www.amazon.com/X-TV-Re-Mix-Collectors-Set/dp/B000FFJ8S0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1254007428&sr=8-1

Do you call that cheap?

Regular edition: http://www.amazon.com/X-Part-Artist-Not-Provided/dp/B0006SSPTY/ref=pd_cp_d_2 & http://www.amazon.com/X-Part-Artist-Not-Provided/dp/B0006SSPU8/ref=pd_cp_d_3

Not a bad price for the two sets, though still the new release will be the same price as one of them.

Plus i'm from the UK, which makes it all the more difficult.

Very nice to see X re-released. I could never find the series. The movie was easy back when on VHS, but the series for me was like a needle in a haystack. Pretty much. ^^;;

X, I'll give a chance too. I watched the movie long ago but I never saw the TV adaptation.

I hope they soon acquire the Rosario + Vampire series, Ikktousen: Dragon Destiny (not screwing up their voices!) and Hyakko. I'm sure they'll do great work with them.

Sounds good. Maybe they can dub Sailor Moon Stars. That way I don't have to worry about watching it with subs.:D

They've been saying for a while that they definitely want Sailor Moon, but the license is hard to get.

Also, I'm happy X will be widely available again and I may probably pick up this release for convenience and probably better/smaller packaging, but, erm... it is cheap at Rightstuf.

This. Initial D is good all the way through and I'm glad to see it getting a U.S. (re)release in its entirety, but there's got to be enough new content out there for a new season soon!

Don't know why people are saying X TV is "nearly impossible" to find when all five volumes of the X TV Remix set have been available in RightStuf's Bargain Bin for a long time. Heck, there are well over 400 copies of each volume in stock. I can understand being totally unable to buy online, but it's still not that impossible to get...

They're $10 each. I'd recommend getting these instead of waiting for FUNimation. They'll be pretty much the same releases, except FUNimation may do four discs instead of five.

Finally, I can get my hand on X/1999 and Initial D but I heard there was rumor that there was a 5th season for Initial D. Been waiting for maybe four year now but it seem false. T^T

OMG Initial D that's like old as dirt.
So, X/1999 is nice. I didn't realize it was so hard to buy.
Think I had heard something about it, though.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Good for them then. X was good. Didn't really like Initital D but I like Wangan Midnight so go figure I guess. -.- At least FUNimation is still in a position where they can license new things to go alongside their old stuff.

Removed a bunch of trolls and the idiotic quote chains.

On topic; this is good news, I'd like to see them remastered if possible, and new dubs could be good if they decide to go that route as opposed to just redistributing the existing ones. It certainly needs it since the old dub totally changed the soundtrack and everything. :( If they can relaunch the entire franchise it could be quite excellent.
