| According to Los Angeles Times, Microsoft announced an anime series of game "Halo". The seven-episode series titled "Halo Legends" will be produced by Production I.G, Toei Animation, BONES, Studio 4℃, Casio Entertainment. Microsoft is in charge of the story and the visuals. A trailer will be shown at Comic-Con on July 23rd. Key visual of Halo Legends Staff Frank O'Connor Creative directors: Aramaki Shinji Oshii, Mamoru Producer: Joseph Chou STUDIO 4℃ produces a 30-min episode titled "Origins" and it's about one hundred thousand years of the history of Halo universe. | a very nice collaboration. i was expecting more episodes when i saw the news, but this probably involves a lot of money, style, and work; much like how animatrix was made. whether it will be good or not that remains to be seen. |

Hopefully the anime will capitalize on that. Though, one important factor of Halo is lost here... when I played the game it was rather encompassing. I'm not one who usually feels like he is a "part" of the game, but Halo hit a good mix of storyline and interactivity for me. That said, Halo is based on a book, so I probably shouldn't really expect the same kind of angle of the game... I just hope the production staff will be able to find a good perspective that's usable for the medium. Also, where are my Original anime? I was promised that they'd run out of unoriginal anime to produce! |

First they'll animate all manga that didn't bomb, then they'll animate all visual novels that didn't bomb, then they'll pass over a good bunch of popular western books and get sued by JK Rowling for making an anime with a poor little orphan kid named Garri Notteru, then they'll remake a bunch of ancient franchises for good measure, and perhaps when THAT has been milked of all possible yen, then they'll start thinking about making original stuff :') |
| Seems to me it's based on the books - not the game story (aka spartans other than Master Chief). I sure hope so at least. I think it'll be solid, since the stories in some of the novels are actually, very good, if people looked past Master Chief. |

| Good Studios+Microsoft(taking the important roles/role of manga in manga-based anime)=FAIL If Microsoft is going to use all their money to get all of these good studios, let the studios do what they paid them to do. Because off of the top of my head I can't think of any great anime originating from America. I think more the strategy behind making this an anime vs. American Cartoon series. Is that American Cartoons... stay american. While Anime has more of a global following. |
