One thing I love in this show is that when the protagonist fights enemies it's not the typical one very strong guy vs a bunch of enemies, because of his skill almost every fight with a crowd is always like a small war lol

Okayyyy so Jinwoo’s dad finally popped up and ong I was like “already??” When bro showed up and luckily I wasn’t the only one who thought that, so this episode was rushed a bit but that’s fine with me I forgot pretty much a lot of things from the Manhwa so stuff like this doesn’t bother me that much, still an enjoyable episode🔥🔥

Jinwoo is now considered a big brother of Jinho. Jinho gets his master guild license and his father is willing for him to take over the family's guild provided he gets Jinwoo to be with their guild. Jinwoo enters the S-Rank Demon's Castle dungeon to search for the elixir of life. He is able to defeats the lower floors lord - Avaricious Vulcan at the level 50. There is 50 more levels to go. This just gets better. Plus we gets to see Jinwoo's missing father comes out from a gate.

@AMBITZZ This is NOT rushed pacing, the first season was terrible because the pacing was too slow and filled with filler, the pacing of season 2 is much better and is much more aligned with the webtoon. The webtoon might have 190+ chapters but overall the story is pretty short.

The only thing that I don't remember is Jinwoo's dad meeting Hwang, it feels too soon but at the same time season 1 slowed the pacing of the story so much, so for me it just feels a little odd.

Regardless, this second season is miles better than the first season, like the ending of season 1, should have literally been the half-way point of season 1.

There's also the pressing issue that Crunchyroll might not exist in 5 years time and be changed and morphed into something else.

@JCDRANZER His dad's scenes are actually right on schedule with the manwha's plotline.

This was a good episode, but its technical aspects fell short compared to the previous ones. I wonder if the production team will be able to hold their ground or crumble under the pressure of maintaining a high standard. Alternatively, will they choose to lower the bar to preserve visual integrity, as they seemed to do here?

After going back and doing a direct compare it still feels a bit rushed to me. They are mostly minor changes, but I think part of it impacts the tone as well. Things like Jinho's overexuberant attempt at hugging Jinwoo because yes he is drunk instead of just trying to give him extra meat or Iron and Igris hauling around their kills to show off (or more accurately Iron hauling around Jinwoo's kill) remove some of the funny laid back atmosphere for something a bit more focused. Jinwoo not overhearing the press conference on the tv made the cut back to the White Tiger guild feel more random rather than intentionally placed. (Also fan service for reasons I guess).

The big ones though were the two big conversations (Jinho and his father and Hwang and Jinwoo's father) along with the main fight. For the conversations, Jinho's in the manhwa reveals the reason why Jinwoo and Song-yi were suddenly closer for Jinho via a survivor of the red gate (honestly liked the manhwa making sure Jinho knew Jinwoo was not being a predator) but more importantly it made Jinho's father seem more immediately accepting and less critical of Jinho's skills both as a leader and at negotiating along with removing the fact that his father is still negotiating behind his back with other hunters. That really puts their relationship in a different place. With Jinho's father we loose not only the American's criticalness of if he is even human, but also Hwang actually showing some desire to get his brother back alive by asking if it is possible for the dead to live again in dungeons (that's a no) and Hwang telling the American's hunter association director that Sung is a beast.

For the fight the mood was a bit different. The manwha made it feel much more like Jinwoo was thinking on his feet and uncertain about some of his ideas like using commander's touch to repel himself. In the anime he was much more decisive and confidence to them. Overall they were pretty similar, but a bit disappointed with the choice as it leaves him more room to grow later as he gains battle experience outside of just being stronger.

The pacing did feel a little quicker than normal, but this was still an enjoyable episode. Jinwoo accepting Jin-ho as a brother while hanging out was a pretty sweet moment, while we were also treated to a nice scene of Cha Hae-In swimming in a sexy one-piece swimsuit.

Jinwoo's progress in the tower was pretty rapid. Some of the bosses that he encountered look tough, but he was able to sweep them away with ease. He was able to get to floor 75 with his current strength and how much food and drink resources he can bring with him, which is impressive and he's got two of the three parts needed for the elixir of life. I don't think it'll be long before he'll be back to get to floor 100 and the final piece remaining for that elixir.

Another interesting development was the appearance of Jinwoo's father. Ironically, he was interrogated by the arrogant Hwang, who upon learning of his name, started trash talking with lies about Sung Jinwoo, which led to Hwang getting thrashed off-screen. Honestly, this was deserved. XD

there's literally a massive contrast between ep2 and ep3 in terms of animation quality, direction, plot and details

Can only give 4/5 this time, because I'm sad they cut the considerably more important shadow comedy out, and instead gave us pointless Hae-In fanservice for no reason.

I like Hae-In, but they should cut back on the fanservice. Many people liked the manhwa BECAUSE it wasn't full of fanservice, boobs and harems like 95% of other shows with OP MCs. If anything I think it downplays her character a lot, because at this point she's just a fanservice tool, nothing more.

She'll get enough chances to shine later, the fanservice really makes her feel cheap and takes up important time in the episode the anime really needs desperately sometimes.

The other anime only scenes were good. I agree the episode felt very fast paced, and I don't remember too much from this arc, but I think it was very fast paced in the manhwa as well. Just a lot of different things going on at once. I don't mind it too much, tho.

Nope, fights were rushed, it's not the same from what I read through in the summary video and the difference is too big to say oh it's anime so some will be cut, this was 90 % cut. Hope he gets that last ingredient for the elixir soon because him soloing dungeons (and even the guild ones) is beyond stale at this point. Same shit every episode.

I'm way more interested in the island expeditions, the guild recruiting, his father's reappearance, and the guy who wants to kill him. Give me more of that and less of him beating on generic looking mobs and shit.

So MCs dad is back? And apparently he is quite strong as well.
I had been wondering what that subplot with Hwang was about, since it didnt end up resulting in anything, but I guess its to scale his dad?

The thing I enjoy most about this show is probably the world building, with the ants evolving and now his dad coming back you really feel like there is more going on

So Jinwoo's dad must be S++ that was insane. He made quick work of that S-rank hunter. Jinwoo has also become insanely stronger. Idk if he is S rank though. I think maybe high-A-Tier. When he said, "Do immortal monsters feel fear?" It gave me the same vibe when Batman said "Do you bleed?" Seeing his evolution is wonderful. I can't wait for him to save his mum.
I'm not shocked his dad is strong. Spending 10+ years in a dungeon meant he was fighting every day without fail and probably eating those monsters' flesh for nutrients. I am assuming that might have given him a boost in strength.
Genuinely wonder what horrors he saw in there going from dungeon to dungeon.

As usual I don't really enjoy him fighting monsters that much, is missing that personal level and emotions from both sides. So his father is a bigshot who got lost in the dungeon world, at least that other dude finally got put in place.

It's so weird they only gave 15 seconds to the Pops vs Hwang and spliced it between a rando Tower scene.... wtf

Zero animation of that epic but short battle

People have been built up to want to see that asshat get a beatdown

Pops fishing for intel about the Greater Plan, seems everyone is still oblivious

System giving Jin-Woo some incentive to push harder in Tower - Elixir to save Mom, and a possible massive bargaining chip in the real world if he can synthesize more

People saying Jin-Ho was going to get kicked to the curb ... but Jin-Woo needs a businessman to front the operations so he can stay focused on his goals without distraction

I felt the animation was massively cut this Ep. Lots of far away perspective restaurant shots, meetings, and the Tower used some real odd purple backdrop graphics and almost no real moves animated. Seemed distracting
