The episode was good, it’s quite interesting to know about how the village was created, but I hope it doesn’t take too much time. The last couple of episode was pretty good, am I starting to like it for real? It could be xD

This episode, while it still contained a lot of the humour that I love, had that bittersweet feeling of sadness to it. =(

Senku's father, Byakuya, is one amusing man and thanks to Senku's efforts, Byakuya finally became an astronaut and was able to fly out to the International Space Station, along with Lilianne, whose song that she sung live back to Earth was really nice and soothing.

The 6 astronauts time was fun and all, but sadly, they had to witness the entire petrification of Earth in front of their eyes. Thankfully, some live camera feeds and the internet was still operating and they were able to confirm what happened to the entire human population.

Byakuya's determined plan to head back down to Earth is the right thing to do, instead of staying in the space station, worrying themselves to death. I have a feeling the next episode will be filled with even more sadness, but also with hope as well. =)
They are 10 BILLION PERCENT death now. Since the car scene that I liked Senku's dad. It's rare to see such a good dad in a anime.

I was waiting for this for so long, I'm glad it's actually here. The comment section also made me curious, even though I think it won't be explained this season. A solid episode, but I really agree the voice actors sometimes feel kinda out of place. Wonder how they landed on their own.

about why this village is so primitive even if it was built by astronauts is fairly simple.
They are smart but they don't have "wide" knowledge, so they couldn't make and teach things that would truly advance society (like before Gutenberg most people were illiterate), also are civilisation has already extracted/mine most of "surface" deposits of raw materials.
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.123/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.231/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.140/? - weekly) | MAD (Ch.33/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.100/? - biweekly)
- Monochrome Days (Ch.28/? - biweekly)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)

I am honestly disappointed. Looks like it end with cliffhanger though, so maybe there will be some point, but so far, this is just useless filler without point. All you needed was 2-5 minutes explanation of Senku's father being astronaut in space, witnessing petrification. Senku's father was good established character as loving father enough. I don't need whole episode of listening his terrible voice acting. I don't need to know what kind of jerk he was. I don't need to know who he banged instead of Senku's mom to establish this village people ancestors. I absolutly don't need to know his fellow jerk crew, characters which have no point or influence on main plot line. I DON'T NEED EPISODE OF THIS AND I CERTAINLY DON'T NEED ANOTHER ONE!

Was looking forward to this backstory and it's truly living up to my expectations so far.

Makes me so hyped for the next episode. Feels overload incoming.

+1, this was a fantastic episode.

I gotta admit, I got totally played by Lillian in the beginning. I thought she was obnoxious but when she was started laughing I kinda started laughing as well and the whole thing made her more lovable. xD

Really liking Senkuu's Dad too, he's an awesome guy.

Sometimes this show really make me appreciate humanity for we've come as a civilization. That montage with Lillian singing and people around the world just listening to a stream from space was amazing.

I'm looking forward to more.

I still think we will end up with a whole range of villages and I would not be surprised if their is a big bad somewhere that keeps humans at a low level population.

Such a good episode. Can't wait to see what happened when they returned to earth. I have a feeling I'm gonna cry a lot...
Guess like in Kimetsu no Yaiba, I'll have to read the manga because it's too hard to wait a whole week for the next episode haha

Also, about Senkuu and his father - Everybody's talking about Senkuu realizing that he'll never see his father again. But didn't he already know that when everyone got petrified, his father was outside of earth? I think he have already guessed that they'll never meet again... but who knows... please don't spoil :)

Regarding the state of the village. it's possible that the astronauts landed super far away (let's say united states?) and only super recently did people reach japan? it's an island and relatively small compared to the rest of the world. It would be far more likely that they would reach china or korea. assuming they start in america. The biggest problem is how far behind the civilization is after 3000 years. I find it super hard to believe that 2 doctors, an astrophysist professor (or whatever senku's dad was) and other people working on clearly very academic roles (other than the singer) wouldn't have produce better educated offsprings that could at least perpetuate knowledge. Sure they can't teach everything for everyfield but you would think they would have a good writing system, basic math knowledge and probably some sort of agriculture system.

Ok, so the crew of the space station got down back to earth to help civilization/create a new one, some of those had a certain IQ to do what Senku is trying to do, but in thousands of years they couldn't? I'm interested to see the next episode to see what went wrong.

Humans aren’t designed to be happy – so stop trying
Humans are not designed to be happy, or even content. Instead, we are designed primarily to survive and reproduce, like every other creature in the natural world. A state of contentment is discouraged by nature because it would lower our guard against possible threats to our survival. http://theconversation.com/humans-arent-designed-to-be-happy-so-stop-trying-119262

I'm going to make a guess and say Ruri can sing. But its cliché across most forms of entertainment that that the least expected one, in this case Kohaku, the fighter, who can sing. Either that, or I expect their father to have a beautiful singing voice lol

I don't know if you agree with the article, so I'm not really targeting this specifically at you. But I will share my thoughts. I do get what they're saying but I do disagree with it. Obviously I don't believe in some high fairytale version of happiness and grass is greener. Due to personal reasons I won't go into it was that long ago I wasn't happy at all. At that point in my life, my health, wellbeing and survival really didn't bother nor matter to me. I found something that gave me a bit of happiness and now I want nothing more than to survive and live. I believe all life is designed for happiness. Just because life requires you to survive doesn't mean happiness is pointless. Happiness wouldn't exist if it wasn't needed, it helps to drive individual lives (such as mine). So yes my happiness has driven me to care about myself enough to want to live. If happiness wasn't a part of life, then how come so many kill themselves (or attempt to) when they're basically...miserable?

Another good episode, we're starting to find out the lore of the world.

Senku is probably gonna abuse his position lmao

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

well the thing is mental illness like depression should be against evolution if that is the case but it still persist or evolution did not get rid of mental illness like depression and anxiety altogether because as the article states negative thinking like worrying/anxiety helps with not letting our guard down and let us be more careful for the sake of survival

EDIT:

also about happiness there is a battle in our brain between short term rewards vs long term rewards and we know short term rewards usually wins thats why long term happiness is rare and addiction is not that rare and we know addiction is suffering

and evolutionary changes happen at least 10,000 to 100,000 years but modern life/society is only hundreds of years old so far

It's Keiji Fujiwara

the foreigner is Lynn and the other girl is Hisako Kanemoto

So, the story is now on Senku Byakuya's point of view. That's how Senku got his love for science. Like father, like son.

> So, Kohaku and Ruri are of foreign blood? From that girl Lillian? I see.
> Byakuya's antics is really the same on Senku as well.
> So, the stone petrification doesn't affect space. Only on Earth.

Damn, what a cliffhanger. Cannot wait!

Tbh all humans on earth are relatives in some way or another ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's just on a much bigger scale

In this episode we learn the past.
It has been so many years since the green light that turned humans into stones. This episode felt like 10 minutes long, why?
Six Humans, including Senku's Father, what a great mission you astronauts have been given.
I wonder where that green light came from though but it has been shown that the green light emitted from the North Pole. Was it Santa?
