| Pretty disappointing episode, and I'm not even a manga reader. I usually don't care much about the animation quality, but this was pretty bad. Those shading scratches looks very out of place when used with the CGI in this show, and the character movements are so robotic. At least in Ajin, the facial expressions and body movements were animated nicely, but in Berserk, the animations are on the same level as late PS1/early PS2 cutscenes. Comparing Berserk 97 to Berserk 2016 is like going from Splinter Cell Chaos Theory to Conviction. |

| I hate puck so much, and Miura's obsession with idolmaster, lolis, and wanting to turn this into a harem manga! Take the recent shitty plot and add come badly recycled CG that aspires to be a ps3 game to it, but fails, and that's the future of the animation adaptations, i don't even know what's the point to all this. |

| As disappointing as some of the direction and music was, along with CG usage (tho it wasn't as bad as some of 10FPS parts in movies), Berserk manga fanboys are nutty: the manga has been shitty ever since Miura decided to go shounen-harem with JRPG elements for, what... 10vols+? And Miura doesn't even know what to do anymore. Manga still #1 with 9.24 average. As not-so-great as this was, it wasn't 6/10 MAL-average bad. The cart scene was decent in terms of pacing/atmosphere. Until the boner knights / tree, anyway. Most worrying aspect was it rushing thru the few remaining good volumes series has to offer. |

| Wow, there were some pretty great looking glimpses of tight animation poured in between all that amateurish CGI crap. Pretty saddening to see what could have been within such an awful display of absolute carelessness. I'm also disappointed to not even get to see Guts slicing that guy in halves in all its animated glory in that first scene, because to me that's one of the most iconic intro scenes to any manga ever. |

Also the Black Swordsman Arc is made of a couple volumes, so only a fraction has been adapted in the original anime. |

| I just, this weekend, found about Madhouse's treatment of reviving HunterxHunter in 2011. Maybe in a couple years when Berserk is actually done, it'll get that same treatment. If any anime is deserving of it, it's Berserk. Just follow the comic, page 1 to the end. Simple, no? |

| I think this TH is to talk about this chapter, you can't say "The serie is going to be garbage" becouse you don't know! people, you just saw the first episode dont say this "berserk is never going to have a good adaptation" becouse maybe this will be a good one, we still don't know. I agree with most of you that the CGI is kind unconfortable for us but it can get better, WE DON'T KNOW. I recommend you people still watching the serie until at least chapter 3 or 4 and then i will hear every "This is garbage" or "berserk is never going to be good as an anime" and stuff. | All this backlash reminds me of the response to the new King of Fighters game. I love Berserk, and I think despite this obvious dip in production quality those who like the series should at least give it a decent chance. We haven't seen much yet, but this could turn out to be a great retelling of an awesome story. |
