The dynamic that Bojji and Kage has with Despa is great and I love seeing them interact with each other (That scene when Bojji cooked them all food had me dying lol)

But holy fucking shit that ending...Bojji split a giant stone structure in half....How the fuck did he do that....And then this entire time, that elixir was basically a way to revive the king

After talking about this with a friend I feel like the king might be the final villain since it sounds like he's been doing this for years and I'm actually terrified lol

Holy fuck that plot twist. This episode looked even more crazy beautiful by the way, from the visuals to the directing.

You know what, actually should have thought from the beginning that that was a resurrection potion, since it was literally made from a phoenix rising from the ashes. I guess that's the reason Apeas backed down, since he found out King Bosse was being resurrected. Now I wonder how much he's been resurrected already.

I love Despa, he's fucking great, I really like how over the top he is, it just works. The training was just straight up vibes. Despa researching about Giants, just to prove that Bojji should not cook was hilarious lmao.

Despa is no joke though, fucking Bojji already splitting boulders in half. My guess for his weapon is a dagger, but that's probably not it. Can't wait for the next episode.

Finally got to watch it, but my question to everyone is, What do yoo think Bojji picked for his weapon?

I'm pretty sure that he picked a wand to cast magic. (I know wands existing in his word because the person from ranking committee had one too). For a guy who can dodge any physical attack, magic would be the most op ability to have.

Hello people my anime list.. it's my first time say anything on forum so.. I will give my piece of mind

I've seen all the reviews of episode 7 on ousama rangking and well I know this can be seen as cliche thing.. it's okay, but for me it's still enjoyable
And it's interesting about the Giant fact.. so Bojji's father is a real giant, for the mother I'm not sure

And Glad Despa being in his side for now
I'm curious about what weapon did Bojji use, also suspicious at Despa because why he didn't want Kage to see the training..

About Daida, idk "Sacrifice this child.." the voices is different with that boy but my feeling tell that it probably not Bosse? But someone else.. (Sorry if I'm wrong, i didn't see the comic)

Looking forward to it's continuation! Ganbatte, Bojji!!

Damn, so the Boss sacrificed his children in order to live longer? That's pretty fucked up. On the other hand, Boji is getting a lot stronger.

This shows logic reminds me of Dark Souls. Like, I might not be able to wield the giant club but as long as I have like 7/100 strength and maxed dexterity I can use a rapier to poke fire breathing lizards to death, fall 20 feet without dying, and kick down enemies multiple times larger than myself with little effort after I backstab them.

So with that in mind, my top choices for Bojjis weapon would have to be a parrying dagger, rapier, or dagger. The dagger seems like a more heavy handed shifty eyed weapon not aligned with Bojjis mentality. The rapier makes far more sense as a "princely" weapon and it has the eyes forward and on the horizon that fits his personality but it still comes across as too large and heavy for him.

The parrying dagger seems to get the right balance simply for being a mini-rapier. Small and nimble, more about speed and accuracy, and all about finding the right spot to hit. In regards to the episode, it fits. The pinging instead of a metalic thunking and the way the boulder split wasn't clean as if it mostly broke on its own.

Just my 2-cents. If I'm proven wrong it'll just make me that much more interested in watching. <3

So the elixir that Daida drank was used to resurrect King Bosse and it looks like this isn't the first time being resurrected. No wonder he was able to rule for such a long time. I'm curious to see the results of Boji's training now that he supposedly found a weapon that is suitable for him.

The animation of this episode was interesting to see, with all those dramatic effects and movements. The episode was a sleeper though, I suppose that the idea of using an off-screen training has something to do with keeping the suspense about it, but training with just results is just boring to see, even more if you know beforehand the expected results, it is like watching nothing but beautiful colors moving. The twist with the elixir was kind of surprising though, it makes complete sense with the formula of the potion, but at the same time it wasn't as telegraphed because of the multiple options, so I will give them props from using the exposition correctly

So Bosse is back, didn't expect him to sacrifice his son.

Bojji is training really hard, glad to see him getting stronger, especially at the end of the episode, he chopped the rock into half? Dang. I also love how they tried to prevent Bojji from cooking since he's immune to poisons. What a great episode

Daida is getting brainwashed badly by Miranjo at this point, and that's bad. Feels like Miranjo's gonna use Daida's body as a vessel for her sacrifices.

Finally meeting the right brother, Bojji and Kage have reached the doorsteps of the righteous Despa, and is quite the complex relationship with brothers Despa and Desha. But getting Bojji to be Despa's apprentice to shaping him to be a king, all it takes is money to make the mark, so easy.

The shot composition this episode is really captivating, but it pretty much confirmed that Bojji would never reach the levels of his father Bosse in terms of strength. But since payment was made, Despa taking it upon himself to do the honors is respectable for Bojji's training...if he showed his valiant strength to not be whipped by people at a bar.

Even starting off with simple chores, Bojji mastering strength that way...it has both hits and misses. Making meals isn't one unfortunately, even the Giant reeks the Attack on Titan reference even for a moment. But still, Bojji's really trying his best, and the boulder chop moment was...surprising.

Miranjo is pretty much a villain to get her way.

That was a rather slow episode with your usual training montage but it was not entirely bad.

Btw I don't really feel sorry for Daida, he was totally unlikeable to me. Too annoying and arrogant.

Wondering how the plot will unravel. Hopefully it will pick up the pace.

How narcissist Despa acted at first made me feel like he would be scammy. But Despa actually seems to be a nice guy. Bojji is in good hands. And the thing that Kage saw, if it was Bojji who cut that boulder in half then that means Despa's training is actually working.

I wish they showed the weapon Bojji chose.

Really loved this quote.

The way it ended.

As far as actual events go, it was quite down-to-earth. But still, I was intrigued. Every little movement so telling; every adorable mishap sparks growth! I'm happy that the anime is choosing t hold it's cards close to it's chest instead of spilling everything from the get-go as the manga does.
All that out of the way, the use of 3D space was just so mesmerizing...? I don't know for sure but my guess is that the animators used blender for some of the shots. Lots of folks are now using blender for 2D animation to amazing effect. A big focus in Ousama has been scale, and this episode took advantage of that. Some of those angles must've been particularly difficult to work out... The careful, close-ups are my favorites. IDK if it's in blender specifically or something else. It was very experimental.

A feast for the heart and a feast for the eyes ^_^ Storytelling through those carefully crafted gestures speak much louder than words.

Very interesting episode, and well animated as always !!

Theory :

What if the Demon we saw coming out of Bosse's body, was linked to Bojji to ensure that, as long as Bojji is alive, Bosse could be reincarnated ? (the Demon acting as a "save" for Bosse's soul)

I thought it was weird that Bojji didn't recover his powers after Bosse died, so I'm now thinking that it's possible that the Demon is "sucking out" Bojji's powers 24/7 in order to maintain that reincarnation option for Bosse.

About Despa.. The story he gave us of a man that was mocked, that learned from him and then about people gathering around him and building his Kingdom around them.. that sounded a lot like Bosse's story & the flashback we saw in episode 1 ?

Therefore, I believe Despa was his mentor, might be wrong on that, but it sounds too similar to be a coincidence.

Finally, if my predictions are right and Bojji's life is needed to ensure the reincarnation of Bosse through the Demon, then Bosse needed another son to be reincarnated in since Miranjo said that the potion would have no use on someone that doesn't share Bosse's blood. When his wife died (if he didn't sacrificed her too), he must've used Queen Hilling for that purpose.

Which is also why we never saw Daida with King Bosse, and why he was so tender about Bojji while holding his hand : He doesn't see Daida as his son, more as a way to ensure himself he could ressurect, while Bojji is even more important to him as if he dies, the Demon would vanish and he couldn't be reincarnated as well.

--------------

I'm probably a bit wrong, but that's what theories are for, right ? Can't wait for next week !

I'm not sure it's a genuine theory or you'd read the manga already.

I just noticed (well since the beginning) Hiling's name is spelled in the japanese way the same way as the word healing, and the what makes it even funnier is that she's a healer (as shown in the show) reminded me of tadano hitohito(literally translates to "just a person") from Komi-san can't communicate and that as well was because he is "just a person" cuz he has not special qualities over the regular.

It appears that Daida is dead and (apparently) the demon that was in his dad took his place. If that's the case I wonder why his dad designated Bojji as his successor and not Daida like the mirror bitch wanted. Was King Bosse fighting the will of his demon?

Since Bojji lacks physical strength most likely he will become strong in using magic. How else could he have cleaved that rock in half? I wonder what kind of weapon he chose.. A wand perhaps?
Paying a crapload of coin to Death-Par and on top of that doing all the cleaning and chores of his house was a very good deal for him..
