| I'm a hundred percent sure if I married a black girl my family would have a problem with it, nothing drastic, but I know they would think less of me and be apprehensive about it. It's probably why I could never date a black girl seriously (thought I have dated them before). Most Italian families are pretty heavily racist against black people. My best friend is black and I had to tell my Grandmother to keep quite when he was here because she's like super racist, but that mostly has to do with the age she grew up in. Oddly enough I think they would be fine with any other race though(Arab might be hard sell though, but it would really hinge on if she's a practicing Muslim probably) . My mom really wants me to marry an Asian girl for some reason and my Grandfather really has no qualms with Japanese, Germans despite fighting in World War II, he really just dislikes black people. |

A lot of people actually think that I don't like black people (I'm black, bruh) but that's not it at all. Come to my area. White people galore. Actually, two of the biggest crushes I think I've ever had have been on black people. But generally I seem to go for white people more. I think that liking someone outside of your race is always a little bit more difficult since you're not aware of their views on things, and sometimes they're really ignorant. To add more to the pot, one of my biggest celeb crushes is Asian, and in high school I had this Asian friend that had the hugest crush on me. it was really annoying actually, since some people thought that the reason that I didn't like him was because he was Asian. The real reason is because he was just too much of a friend at that point. The guy that I have a crush on atm is white. When I was younger, I had a really huge crush on a brown guy and a Spanish guy. I actually don't understand ruling out an entire group of people. I don't understand people who believe in soulmates who only date a certain type of people. I just don't understand it, and I don't think I ever will. I will say though, I don't think that people who say things like, "Generally speaking, I'm not attracted to so&so" are racist. It's a preference, just like hair colour, eye colour, height, etc is a preference. /2cents |

| IMO as a black guy, I haven't met many black girls that are worth the effort. Most that I know are all ghetto chic and have no real substance to them. So I guess they're just boring. You find that with white women too but not with those I've met. All of the crushes I've had were of people who i thought were interesting to be around rather than someone who is attractive. I don't think I've had a real crush on a black girl but I'm open to it. Hey, I might not have been in a relationship because of it, but at least i know what I want. |

| I think there is nothing wrong with interracial relationships, but my opinion is biased since I am a black man married to a white woman and we have 2 beautiful kids. We are raising our little pandas the exact same way that we were raised and that is to not see color, but to see people for who they really are. I never tell people I married a white woman, I just tell them I married my best friend and leave it up to them to see that she just so happens to be white. |

I live in a rural area that is... how you say, homogeneous? Yeah I'll use that word. Anyways, there just isn't a lot of choice in my area. And I plan on living here the rest of my life (after my formal schooling that is). Another thing is just the ancestry thing. They have to ask questions like "Who am I?", or similar identity questions. It seems unfair to put them through that kind of potential hardships just because I really liked their mother. Or, looking at the genetic perspective there can be complications such as diseases more prevalent to one or another race. Thankfully both sides of my family have great pedigrees and I would want to chose a partner that would give my offspring the greatest chance of success. |
