Ten Ten - "Come at me!" Yes that was awesome :D

Choji became pretty epic at the end, wonder if he can summon up that form at will now? His insane amount of chakra must come from how much he eats...

what a beatiful friendship between Ino-Shika-Cho and their ancestors :))

They are deservedly stealing the spotlight from the friendship between Naruto and Sasuke. (By the way i don't think they are friends. i just said that because Naruto says it...sigh.) You may notive i didn't add Sakura, i didn't forgot guys, i just don't think that selfish gal is anybody's friend including Ino

Why do you guys complain so much bout flashbacks, the flashbacks adds more depth and substance to the characters and their relationships to each other. Besides gives the series more of an emotional vibe. Do you want to this to turn out like bleach? none stop battles with no real reasoning behind any of them accept for the fact to just kill and move on.
I'm sorry, but for one thing, those flashbacks didn't add any more depth to any characters that wasn't already clearly visible without wasting two episodes, especially for anyone that's been watching the series from the beginning. For another thing, while Bleach may not go as far as Naruto on character development, it's not completely lacking, and there is plenty of reason behind the battles...

Are you saying that saving the world and afterworld is meaningless unless the hero is really just trying to save their friends? Because if that's the case Bleach is chock full of that too... (Mind you, I didn't even watch the last season of Bleach since they had finally wrapped up the original story, so I'm not a super fan boy for Bleach..)

Frankly, I am really hating how this war has turned out to be 70% flashback for one battle after another, most of which anyone who has been watching from the beginning is already aware of, and the characters we didn't know about are barely any more important now than they were when we didn't know about them...

I hope they cut this flashback garbage out soon, because I don't want to finish Naruto feeling the same way I did with Bleach - begging for it to just end already, and put me out of my misery (still love it, for now, but it's getting tiresome..)

god that was excruciating.. two whole episodes of Chouji whining, then Chouji flashbacks, then Chouji whining some more, and some more flashbacks.....
yes " flashbacks adds more depth and substance to the characters" but the point came across after five minutes yet they dragged it for forty.
Also the fight itself was rather lame and unimaginative, they beat Asuma with a very simple distraction tactic. I'm generally dissapointed at how this war is just about the drama of the reanimated people, which is important of course, but where are the good battles? this is a fighting shonen anime remember?
My sentiments, exactly.

At the top of this we've got a guy who wants to brainwash and place the entire world under his direct control in order to recreate the world in his own image and bring about his own version of peace, but no... crybaby Choji is what adds "depth" to the show... LOL

Am I the only one who thinks this Shinobi War arc is boring as hell? Now It's all about the relationships between these uninsteresting characters. It's like I'm watching a soap opera. The excitement is gone, I like when they reveal secrets, political shit no thanks.
I had a feeling it was just going to be a flashback festival as soon as they started reviving allies. However, the fact that we have to also deal with flashbacks for the nobody villains we had never before heard of, on top of double episodes of flashbacks that conformed with what we already knew, is well beyond ridiculous.

I'm just glad they actually ended this fight. I was positive they were going to cut and end the second Choji got his resolve...

the episode was pretty good but I agree with a lot of people when they say there were too many flashbacks I could have done without the flashbacks from the previous episode tbh. I like watching Choji's story it's very inspirational. Was wondering if there were gonna be more times with his butterfly transformation so I was pleased. =) Can't wait till the next episode.

I more or less am trying to get some input from some people so your reply helps in that regard. Because i have not really seen the anime series like most of you have, i am just a huge fan of the original manga that kishimoto layed out as well as the " original" series of naruto. Anyways i did see the episode regarding Kakashi, Zabuza and haku and personally alot of people did the same complaining during that point in time but i thought that was part was adapted well. Even the flash backs showing the original team 7 facing off against haku and consequences that naruto had to endure during that time were more touched based upon and had some actual new material that helped resolve that certain plot element in the story.

So naturally something like that would not bother me. Now are the remaining flashbacks that they are showing kind of similar to the " kakashi, haku and zabasu fight. Or they completely different, just recycling old flash backs that we already know full well.

That is kind of what i am tying to understand here is the transitioning between the anime and manga and what differs in that regard.

I do know that even in the manga, some of the fights i thought were kind of rushed and pretty cliche like mifune and hazo, or gintaku and ginkaku, but after naruto entered the battlefield, the entire arc took a very different turn, so from them on i have really really enjoyed reading it. That part is coming up soon in the anime, and i hope the animation stays consistent as well, thats another thing ive seen alot of complaining bout is the animation is horrid. Not a good thing when your dealing with a final arc that has some of the most intensive battle action sequences. So i am kind of worried bout that my self.

The flash back thing i can kind of get used to, its really not as bothersome to me as it is to some people, but i can understand that being a nuisance if your watching it weekly. But if your watching whole seasons's at a time, it just kind of likes flashes by you in an instant and doesn't detract the over all experience as much.

By they way, what was that for a fan Tenten found? Who lost it there? I absolutely can't remember this.
it was one of five legendary weapons(it belong to sage of six paths) used by ginkoku and kinkoku brothers it can use all five elements by the wielder but use a wast amount of chacra.

what was the epiphany that Chouji had that finally turned him around? They didn't state it explicitly. What specifically gave him the strength to change in an instant?

He came to the realization that he was doing himself and Asuma a disservice, as well as insulting everyone around him, by holding himself back in battle. It's also a reference to the common idea that a student should surpass the teacher when they've mastered the art or style. This is something of a plot staple (a trope or cliche) in martial arts genre.

Ahh diaper headed Choji is there anything else he can complain about we've been through being to kind and he goes on about would he find someone to marry! So I am sure there was something else! Honestly almost ANY other character I would've been fine but Choji is probably my least fav character.

So heartbreaking once again though =[

That was the point of the episode. Does he needed to be called a FATSO every time just to react ?

It can be overwhelmingly hard when you need to get rid of indecisiveness or procrastination and need to face your own long standing issues.

Anyway at the end he evolved much more than expected.

Well 2 Sarutobies down... but at least is nice to be reminded that 2 will make up the next generation.

I can't believe they stretched this trash to two whole episodes...

The entire plan for those 3 to fight Asuma was stupid because he wasn't a top tier Shinobi. He was skilled but he wasn't a Kakashi, Akatsuki, or Kage type of fighter. Without plot armor, honestly, 5 random people teaming up should have able to beat him. He mostly was just fighting with a Kunai and had one technique.

lots of ppl here just didn't like the fact that the "war" isn't acting like one, war is merciless, full of dead bodies, lots of battles, while what we got 'til now it lots of flashbacks and character development. i believe that the simple reason for that is kishi wanted to do battle part I style than continue doing only akatsuki battles, before going full drive, i understand it kinda frustrating, but since i love character development i can't really complain.

my only problem in this ep (and the previous one, since this was 40min ep originally) is choji being too much "nice", yea yea i got the message at the end, but it's just stupid matter in the middle of deadly war, people dead on right and left and choji now have the time to think of the past, the whole development worth though the end.

seems that naruto entrance gonna come soon by the preview, can't wait :p

Seems like Team 10 is the author's second favorite team after Team 7. They seem to get a lot more screen time and back story. Chouji is not my favorite character, but I do appreciate the episodes that show depth to characters aside from Naruto. Yes, I even liked the Mifune/Hanzo episode.

I've actually been enjoying these past few episodes without him, but it seems he's coming back on the next. Too bad HAHA I might be the only fan of the show who's no too fond of the main character XD

Yup Choji is now one of my favorite characters, i relate to his struggle as a kind and a scared person and it really spoke to me how sometimes u just have to take the first step to overcome an obstacle even if u feel afraid or u can't do it, but it's easier said than done in real life.
