Evangelion. First I read the manga and maybe I watch the anime with very high expectations because I really love the manga, but I dislike the animation (too old, too ugly) and the story (that is different from the manga in many aspects) and the anime can´t show the characters thinkings what turn in a big difficult to understand their personalities. I can´t deal with the characters theirselves (very different from the manga) with annoying and plain personalities (wtf with that asshole shinji?)

Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Negima, Love Hina, Ichigo 100%, D.N.Angel, Tsubasa Chronicles, D-Gray Man, Tokyo Babylon and R.G Veda should all stay manga. These mangas are not too good for an anime adaption. And the second and third ones...... It just doesn't interest me.

Angel Sanctuary wasn't very good either :/ But the Love Hina manga was sooooo much better than the anime in so many different ways. Over half of the story was lost and overall comedy mood just didn't exist in the anime. It was painful.

The anime was great at the start, when it followed the manga. When it went all it's own way however, it turned bad. Quite bad.

Agreed. Even I could tell that it was ....bad after a certain point.. Not that I know what the rest of the manga is like (since I'm just starting it), but give me a couple of days to get up there and I'll know.

Violinist of Hamelin. My god did it have some of the worst animation I'd ever set eyes upon. They completely changed the back stories of the two main characters for no good reason and changed their personalities. The humor from the manga was done away with making the anime one of the bleakest, depressing plots in the world. Story elements were chopped up and distributed willy nilly. Scenes that happened near the beginning of the manga some how got moved to the end of anime. It should've at least been a 52 episode series, possibly longer. The anime only covers the first arc and the beginning of the second yet the pacing was so god awful. They got to the second arc mid-way through the anime and then decided to drag out the events the second arc as long as they possibly could to the point I wished they'd just ended th series at the end of the first arc. At least that way it would've had a slightly more satisfying resolution and the possibility of a second season which the ending they did choose killed any chance of.

Hahah, saying that this show was 'animated' is being too generous :) It's really just a radio drama set to still frames with the occasional bit of animation during key moments ^_^ ;; that is what happens when you have no budget whatsoever ;_;

I still liked the Hamelin anime, but it really is totally different than the manga, and the manga is much more fun. But the anime does have amazing music. The Hamelin movie matches the comedic tone of the manga much better.

The anime was an original. The manga for it was released as a promotion for the anime - the anime is not actually based off of it ^^

Of course, TRC takes the cake. I couldn't watch more than 3 episodes. And, as much as I love Revelations for sticking to the manga plot, it's animation isn't much better. You can totally tell which scenes Beetrain did for it. But, it just feels great because it's better than what we've been given before...

Only anime I could think of that I thought should never have come out was Ichigo 100%. It went far passed the level of altering the manga, and the OVAs afterward, although they were truer to the manga, pretty much messed the series up further.

There are others that kind of piss me off because they always cut short from the manga like Kenshin, Berserk, Gantz, Air Gear, etc etc... but they didn't make me feel as if they messed up the manga version as bad as the Ichigo 100% anime did.

Augh... Too many to count ._.
The Fullmetal Alchemist anime wasn't really entertaining as the manga.
Bobobobobobobo- WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LEAVE THOSE THINGS ALONE!?
InuYasha-The manga is a lot better than the anime and the manga isn't discontinued...
Neon Genisis Evangelion- Some things are better left UN-TOUCHED!!!

And the list continues. But those are the major ones T_T

I'm so glad that Production I.G took over and made the OVA for it. The OVA is just 1000 times better than that horrible fillery anime.

Also, Fruits Basket.
If they didn't intend to continue it they shouldn't have started. Plus the secret about Akito, ppft.

i thought the anime adaptations were messed up as well. the first attempt failed at design and completely destroyed the story with the demon thing, but captured the general ideal pretty well. The second attempt completely destroyed the story plot, but its design looked amazing. they should really tidy it up and try to make another attempt and animate the school festival arc, since i really want to see that animated.

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.. The manga is actually pretty good (if you like the genre) with nice style and all, and the anime has horrible big eyes and pointy faced charas... Not to mention the one monster /week format which goes through until the last episodes.. with a horrible ending that so differs from the manga... If the people that made it didn't plan on making it good, it never hould have been made...Geez..

URGH, Gravitation! That was the WORST adaptation I've seen in all my days. So many awful changes and missing characters!

Second, Strawberry Panic. The manga is so much lighter, and more fun. Where as the anime is so ANGSTY. Aoi never passes out in front of Etoile, which REALLY annoyed me, the way she was portrayed made her seem weak and easily manipulated, the relationships are presented ALL WRONG. The characters are pretty much reversed on themselves...

Sorry ^///^ I guess this adaptation really got on my nerves xD

Tsubasa Chronicles, definetely. My favourite manga became a terrible, terrible, terrible anime. Let's hope Tokyo Revelations is good....

Most of CLAMP's greatest mangas have terrible anime adaptations. So I'll add RG Veda, Tokyo Babylon, xxxholic and X to that.

to sumarize: Love Hina, Claymore. That and, Hellsing (tough the OVA makes up for it), Zombie Loan (only because production errors caused it to be shorter).

Have not even completed the anime and I still agree: Death Note, D. Gray-man, Tsubasa Chronicles, RG Veda, Tokyo Babylon, xxxholic and X .

Hellsing was disappointing, but I think it was due to the fact that it remains unfinished. Although there is a new series titled, Hellsing Ultimate. It's a re-telling. Four OVA episodes I believe, the fourth not out yet. I have seen the first three. Hmmm, better but not fulfilling, in my opinion.
