His sci-fi otaku attitude, inflated ego, and antisocial behavior will take some getting used to... but I bet he'll surprise us. | As always, a great episode. One of my favorite arcs and boy am I happy. I really love this arc, it's my second favorite. The arc AFTER is my favorite though, but that's in Dandadan season 3. I was confused on why they reused certain scenes but it worked and I really liked how they put Kinta in the scenes as well. The opening changed a slight bit so it looks better and it does look better imo. I'm really excited for the next 2 episodes, I wonder how a certain character is going to sound like next episode. 5/5 |
| Not the fatty simp coming in the middle of Okarun and Momo awkward lovey dovey developments and that "teeth clashing". Okarun rizz is real that class president definitely has a thing for him. Even best girl Aira dont stand a chance so just waste of time. Not Midju No.8 in my Dandadan.. Diving from the top of building really could have killed both of them. Idk how elasticity of momo psychic hands work but that could have broker their ribs. Very reckless. |

| I forgot how horrible Okarun's classmates treated him in school in the past. Kinta's attempt to catch Okarun's attention was amusing. But the class prez standing up for Okarun was surprising while making quite the entrance into the narrative. Facing the golden ball was like a high staked game of pinball. Kinta's insight though was timely. This hunt sure turned into something no one expected though. |

gotta say. studio Saru has gotta be one of the best studios out in 2020s anime. The way they handle motion, flow camera panning, the squish and stretch of the characters to emphasize the weight each character when in battle or comedy scene seems basic but they apply a bit cartoon element and to this specific series makes certain scenes look very alien. No doubt makes me want to see their entire catalog to see if they have that very loony tone effect.
Anyway, this weeks episode opens up with a great comedy scene helping build a great character for introduction KINTA and telling the audience he was there FROM THE START using Momo and Okarun's teeth clink scene. LMAO I LOVE IT!

I am making this assumption based on his backpack and different colored combs.
Speaking about his backpack, it shows that he has a very immature perspective compared to his peers. This is very apparent to anyone as he tries to get Okaruns attention by:
A. holding a book next to him,
B. then holding it in front of him with his finger as a signal,
C. and lastly trying to show off his mech figure by flashing it beside him
and assumes Okaruns is popular with the girls, because they(class A prez) were stepping in to stop him from interacting with class B girl(momo). The prez OBVIOUSLY assumed thought Okarun was being bullied or at least picked on by kids in class B. But Kinta was not gonna let his assumption stop NO NO NO. gotta break up the fight, between the two girls that he assumed were fighting over Okarun, he did somehow succeed in doing that though... even though it was fuckig funny n cringy asf. But that lead him to following them (Momo n Okarun) and of course, we're in season two of this Alien/Spirit shenanigans, so shenanigans insued and Kinta got caught (literally) in the middle of it.
Of course, this shed some light for me as well, Momo OUT LOUD yelling *lets get your family jewels* is what lead not only Kinta following them but also having the prez worry for Okarun.
Anyway, rating time!!

Love it, give me 18 more of them please. Like always, this show somehow introduces new characters and it does not feel jarring in the least. As they LITERALLY shove him in between okarun and momo. soon to rival Jiji as BSF for Okarun? maybe so maybe so

In the bench scene you can see the reply of Okarun and momo trying to find each other in the first scene, of course this was a sort of replay to showcase Kinta's existence since the beginning. What I want to note is the bench scene, the somber, mellow drimatic soundtrack that plays as momo n okarun liment not seeing each other and think if one of them is avoid each other to Kinta... whos just chill across from Okarun. and the song is just none. JUST BIRDS. This made me Laught out loud when it played out.
Overall: 10/10

The fact that they reused scenes from episode 5 last season but included Kinta's POV into it is kinda hilarious.
| @LordKenji3011 l No it's cheap. Animation quality has been consistently sliding the entire season. This ep was particularly bad. That opening sequence with fat boy was not meant to be comedic, but was so poorly done it had me laughing at it. |

| @KingShisui Probably because Kinta is a complete moron when it comes to social interactions but he seems to have keen observational skills and knows to keep out of the way in the corner of class 99% of the time, whereas Okarun is in the middle of class and an easier target. |

| Kinta god is here. The true MC of dandadan is finally here, hes always been here, we just havent seen him. First introduction to Rin, i still dont get why Okarun gets bullied all this time and now a pretty girl talks to him she steps up to her… Then we have the Kintama/Kaiju, looks like they had to change the design slightly from the manga. If people think we have introduced all the main characters, u couldnt be more wrong. Only a couple of episodes left. And I hope that we get confirmation of S3 |

| This new guy seems fun. While similar to Okarun, he serves a more comedic purpose it seems. I had major deja vu at the beginning of the episode, it took me a minute to realize it was a flashback and we were just seeing the new guy's perspective. The after class scene reminded me that the best part of this show is Okarun and Momo's relationship. The nerd and gyaru couple is becoming one of my favorites. |

| Well I didn’t really like that they just reused scenes from an earlier episode with just a handful of additional Kinta moments thrown in, rest of the episode kicked ass tho. Kinta is kinda nutty but the fun kind, he reminds me of Sakamoto from “Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto” but if he was more of a nerd and had trouble with the ladies, poor lad thought Ken was getting the chicks with dirty talk but they kept him in the dark throughout the whole episode without correcting him, maybe he’ll find out one day lol. Also the class rep bit was funny, she’s over here batting for Ken when there’s no reason to be at bat in the first place, although it makes me wonder if she likes Ken or something, maybe we’ll get more on that later or maybe it’ll be a one-off thing, you never know with Dandadan lol. And the golden ball chase was a really good time, I liked the fact Kinta’s speculation played a role in how they figured out the trick with the invisibility, also him running through all the rooms was cool too, I just hope those were all vacant rooms lol. But just when it looked like they defeated the golden ball, it becomes a whole ass kaiju, alright lol, no idea how that happened but sweet, the upcoming battle with most definitely be an epic one. |
| Terrible episode with an even worse character. I'm struggling to believe we actually just got this clichéd tropey guy as a main character. So episode 9 ends in the exact spot where chapter 63 does, but episode 10 stars with a nearly 7-minute retcon flashback that didn't happen in chapter 64. Then, after the opening, flashforward back to the present, there's another full minute before getting back on track with the manga and starting exactly where we ended last episode. So episode 10 actually starts 9 minutes in... This episode had absolutely atrocious direction which caused the entire episode to feel like a flashback. |
| Who is this dashing gentleman with the thorough morning routine? Who is this absolute unit with a collection of glasses for every occasion? Who is this cultured aficionado with the jet propulsion backpack who sings classic Mecha songs on the way to school and immediately quiets himself when people are walking right next to him? And he was there from the beginning! Kind of! He was there during the iconic morning greeting moment with Okarun and Momo in season 1! He was there during the Okarun and Momo hunt! He was there for their first kiss! he's been there all along! Now he wants Okarun to pay attention to him! If flexing non-copyright infringing plastic models won't work, he'll just declare Okarun his enemy! All so he can get the deetz on why Okarun has so much rizz that he's able to pull the hottest girls in school and have a girl running up to him to talk about "Family Jewels" in front of people! A girl who is just happy to know her guy has friends. Is this a new contender in the Okarun bowl!? A bespectacled cutie who is even willing to stand up to Momo to protect Okarun and flex her duty as a class prez? Though thank goodness the tension was defused by talking about our resident perv's weenie! What is the key to spicy talk and attracting women? Too bad that only Momo is allowed to utter "family jewels" in her presence but that's not going to stop the guy from following Okarun and Momo getting caught up in another one of their crazy fights! A wild floating ball has appeared! Momo used grab! It's not very effective! Especially when it's not a floating ball at all but some kind of invisible presence that's throwing Okarun and Momo around like ragdolls because they can barely see what they're fighting, let alone where they need to hit. Look the perv may be a perv with no idea how to talk to women, and he may be a hardcore Mecha Otaku who will literally yell "JET STREAM ATTACK" out loud, but he's also a sci-fi afficionado who is able to pinpoint cloaking technology when he sees it! Effective enough for Momo and Okarun to hit it with their tag-team attack! Perv totally earned getting hit by Momo, which he is super into! This wasn't just some floating ball...IT WAS A KAIJU! The lovechild of Gomora and Red King! And it's gone Kaiju size! Where's Ultraman when you need him? |
