@Triggerfish124 Gotta disagree there. It won't appear in this season but there's cases as horrifying or more than this one and Keitaro is targeted in some. The poor dude sure gets no time to rest.

This anime has had some unsettling and twisted episodes, but today's episode was on another level.

The whole backstory of the father and daughter was twisted. The cliffhanger at the end was just too much like I've never felt this disturbed after watching an anime.

Strange, I was always told the mouth was safe, and even if the girl swallowed, there was no risk of pregnancy. Good thing I have anime set things straight,

This was all kinds of grotesque.

Dad argues with mother and pushes her and she hits the kitchen counter and dies.

Dad and daughter get called murderers.

Meet a guy and wheelchair and somehow the daughter was like yeah the only way for us to go in heaven is for me to rape my father and then commit actual murders until some angel is born.

That creeped me out way too much. I hope Eiko will be fine. Btw Kei's sisters are cute.
@MegamiRem Agreed, kawaii imoutos. I was surprised to learn he's got twins & also a little brother too?!!?

I don't believe we've seen both sisters until now right? I think they only showed 1 earlier in the season?

I like the series so far picked it up on a whim and I generally don't do horror anything. It's pretty much psychological horror, the main cast has too much plot armor imo though.

Between being main cast's and having Yayoi's dolls and ghosts as a backup I never feel like they're in any real danger. It does have some pretty dark idea's and situations that happen.

Feel bad for the ghost's themselves mainly, that wandering ghost got rekted entering that house just to be used to show what happens.

I did feel like Eiko just going to the grave to confirm herself was a bit weak. Makes sense that she would be really pushed to her limit now, but holy shit, this is gruesome! Like, every single thing about this.

Also, Yayoi should really start to bring more than one doll. Eiko is getting possessed and snatched away routinely relative to how often she is invovled

I think Eiko is the perfect candidate to suffer all the ghost nonsense considering her personality and her past actions, but damn even I felt mildly bad for her this time.

Phew that was a pretty wild episode.

I feel sorry for that family winding up in such a mess escalated even further by the same people who were behind that hand that was in the lake at H castle ruins. I wonder if the old man was actually honest or not on what the ritual would actually do.

I kind of feel like the fetal ghost entering Eiko would have been creepier without the external face parts, it just made it a little silly looking. Sudden pregnancy should be body horror enough to stand alone. I am willing to overlook it crawled into her mouth instead of up her uterus since it is a ghost anyway.

That was a pretty good last scream coming out of Eiko along with the birthing illusion. Made me feel really sorry for Eiko how much horror you could feel she was in through this even though she gets a bit of a kick from these things.

On a lighter note Keitaro's sisters are kinda cute.

All along it's been Kei taking all that shit and she's been gaslighting him like nobody's business.
Now she finally gets a taste of all the fear that she craves for, Congrats

My favorite scene was Eiko asking Keitaro to join her at the gym after seeing how scrawny he is. I do love how their relationship feels pretty real and sweet if you ignore all the horror and stalking.

Why didn't they just send Keitarou? He can't get pregnant. No lets just ghooooo.....st! Eiko proceeds to get (orally) impregnated twice by some deceased spirit form incest babys.

Argument and a tiny push resulted in a fathal accident.

That daughter must've been very mentally unstable though to somehow go along with the proceedings:

Random old scary guy in a wheelchair: ...shows up out of nowhere, goes on about some ritual with angels and shit, that'll magically solve all your issues!

Daughter: ...you know this guy seems pretty trustworthy! "just need a little hump with my dad to fix this whole ordeal, huh".

Dad: "no, not with you! (proceeds to not resist)".

Daughter: ...gives birth to incest baby "lets kill that baby (kills born incest baby)".

Daughter: ...somehow it didn't work yet, you know what! Lets just continue anyway (proceeds to die whilst furthering the ritual).

(deceased, in spirit form) Dad and daughter: "lets kill some spirits and impregnate others with our dead incest baby!".

Jesus christ, what the fuck did I just watch. Does make you wonder what happend for that daughter to go mental to that degree, with that smile she defintely didn't seem to be 100% ok.

If my theory is correct, those "angels" are simply the spirits of the dead babies she killed. Whatever spirit coaxed the mother into doing all of this clearly wanted to sow as much despair and misery as possibly. This episode was really a new level of messed up.

Here i am thinking the previous Anna spirit was the very mess among the mess. Those daughter spirit must be enjoying those ritual very much from the beginning till the death, huh?

The alien-doll spirit helping a lot since the day one, wonder why Yayoi took a favorite over him. Kinda unfair tho since he's getting all the screen time as a graduate. I need to know the kitsune spirit and the monkey-robot one!

Also, Keitaro revealed to have cute twin sisters and one little brother. Why you hide them up to this point Keitaro? Smh

Easily the most messed up episode so far, oh damn. That was so disturbing, I knew this is a horror, but I really wasn't expecting that. Oh and that cliff hanger is just pure evil too. I guess we'll find out next week what happens.

Oh and Keitarou has 2 younger sisters and a brother??? I think this is the first we've heard of them.

Something tells me I won't be forgetting this episode any time soon, damn.

I think it easily enters the top 3 of the strongest and most explicit episodes of this anime, why is it so underrated? ._.

Even though it was foreshadowed that Eiko could get pregnant as what happened to the female officer she proceeds to go in, and later on when Yayoi asked Eiko if she wanted to proceed Eiko says yes 🙄 She really is deranged but at least the desire for Keitaro to carry her like a princess is keeping her going lol.

Anyways, I kind of missed Keitaro in this episode as he and Yayoi make a good ghost fighting team but at least it was revealed that he has 2 twin sisters and even a younger brother, interesting.

This episode was on multiple levels of messed up—I mean, a "pregnancy curse?!" How the hell did the author come up with that idea? I thought we had hit peak horror with the Old Old F Tunnel from a couple weeks back, but the manga had to hit up with this chapter, along with the build up from the last episode. Not to mention, pregnancy is already a painful thing to go through or even watch, so having that elevated with the possibility of giving birth to a baby spirit with an enormous head is inconceivable.

Other than that, the recollection of events seems pretty traumatic for the father & daughter, and as a result of those course of events, the cycle of violence continues. The daughter in particular seemed genuinely desperate, though the scenes under the futon and in the shower were next level insanity.

Overall, I've got to say that this episode raised my heartbeat a good amount. When I heard from manga readers that this was going to be really messed up, I didn't believe it too much compared to what I witnessed. Welp, Eiko's scream was great cliffhanger to leave the episode off of, and next episode will be a set up for something greater, back again with the God.

Also, has anyone else noticed that fetuses & babies are starting to become a common theme for this series? I wasn't too sure about this hunch, but Episode 17 somewhat reinforced it.

Wow!!! That was really disturbing. The tragic backstory went to places I would’ve never imagined this anime going to. It’s such an excellent story. The angel fetus reminded me of the botchling from the bloody baron quest in The Witcher 3, just giant sized.

I want to preface my next statement by saying that I like Eiko a lot and I hope she gets through this but if she gets killed off either here or at some point down the road it would put this anime on another level. Hopefully that doesn’t happen because this show is headed towards legendary status regardless. Can’t wait for the next episode.

I think most of the ghosts/ curses are folklore of Japanese or other Asian tales.
I mean have you watched Jujutsu? Our main protagonist Yuji-kun basically is born from Cursed Pregnancy of a women.

Excellent episode, as usual. Show has been consistently great.

We already saw the author is good at keeping temporary consequences varied and exciting. My only concern is that we will see little permanent, weighty consequences... I hope we do, eventually, as the threats escalate.
