| I think Hayato was just trying to be respectful to Akane's mother and I thought he did a good job in controlling himself. Also, Akane kind of stood up to herself and made a great cup of coffee. Her mom is right though when she told Akane good luck with all the rivals just before she left. Regarding Akane's rivals, I like Shiragiku for her friendliness and feminine nature and Riho too for her way of being able to talk to people and help out. Looks like next episode may be beach focused, nice. |

Don't talk about the stuff you don't know anything about. the girls are the most surface level character out there. Hayato has way more layers to him compared to other characters in the series. You can't make a proper argument my guy. |

If it was any other protagonist then I would’ve probably dropped it. Nowadays for me, the girls aren’t enough to carry a series. |

Hell, Hayato was one of the reasons why I was interested in watching the show in the first place with how many manga readers said how he was a really well written main character, and personally, I found myself in agreement with that statement. I can't say that you are ignorant for saying that about here because I haven't been paying much attention to what people say in these discussions too much, but believe me when I say that in other discussions, people are in it for mainly Hayato. |

It's not good writing to introduce a problem and resolve it right away. Felt like girl of the week checklist. We will get another girl drama the next week. Her strict mother was persuaded way too easily, she didn't even require any assurances and simple coffee was all it took to change her mind. While I liked Hayato's general approach, trying to make Akane stand on her own, he rushed and forced her change on the spot in the end. Compare with Oregairu and Yukino's complicated relationship with her mother. Miles difference. Showing that persuasion didn't work at first would resulted in much bigger payoff later on here. I think the direction of the episode was pretty decent but I guess they can only do so much with subpar source material. The worst thing? While they try to portray MC as ultimate chad, he still chickened out in the end when Akane got close to him at the pier. He basically reverted to classic anime trope harem protag there. Hey at least he's better than that domestic kanojo MC lol |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| Yoooo let's go, Akane get's to stay!! Would it've felt more serious if this went on for another episode but I don't mind. Oh, and apparently her mother knows of Hayato's family? Probably met his grandma in the past at some point. Who knows, they could've been friends or something. Kinda wanna know now actually... Anyways, solid episode, Akane best girl, what more can I say. |

| Best girl ep is here! I like how Hayato took more of a passive stance and let Akane handle her own problems by convincing her mother through her actions instead of letting Akane rely on Hayato to save the day like what happens in most other series. |

| It's the usual family responsibility drama but the way Hayato and Akane handled it is superb, not only Akane's mom willing to let her do her stuff but even approved of the inevitable marriage proposal lmao |
| Instead of standing up for her, he teaches Akane the more important lesson of standing up for herself by pointing out that Akane's mother is right with not committing to her dreams. What was that reaction to Hayato revealing his name? Could it be that the man Akane was supposed to marry was Hayato all along? |

| Akane's was acting way too out of character in the first minutes, and in fact... however, the second half was actually pretty good. Yes, it felt unnatural to have her mother presented like a supervillain with single-colored eyes (and noticed how they now look normal after the "switch") and a cold ruthless attitude that suddenly changes into good and understanding because the coffee tasted good enough. Yes, the other girls HAD to suddenly crash the meeting (even after the happy ending) because Ami is Ami and gave obviously an imperfect report of what was happening. But... what if she was actually already ready to live her daughter's life and she was just testing her to watch if she's ready and willing to go through it? Yeah, i can understand criticism for how the subject was handled, but for personal reasons i enjoyed the execution, including the usual part "what i'm expected to do vs what i actually want to do", Hayato making Akane understand how she needed to be the one facing her fears, it's all something i witnessed somehow in first person when i had half my age especially (sort of). Hell, i've been through "ugh, those dyed blond hair..." comments too, by coincidence (i still have them and as long as it stays possible that's final). |
