Ishikawa explaining his situation to the other guys was pretty damn funny.

Yoshikawa was so damn adorable this episode.

Poor council president, but not gonna lie, I would be both a little creeped out yet fascinated with that many bugs on the wall. Remi has a cool dad (if that actually is of her dad, I believe it's her own collection).

The proposal was pretty surprising, especially with the final episode lurking next week. I wonder if this is going to end with graduating. Honestly feels like that a S2 is probably not happening.

CloverWorks rushed two of its adaptations this season, the promised neverland and horimiya. Although at least here everything it's kinda more of the same, so you won't notice if something is missing.

What a nice and cozy episode. I remember the confession from the manga and I couldn't wait for it to be adapted into the anime. A nice, heart warming confession with beautiful visuals and relaxing music, they nailed this scene!

Now that's the Horimyia I liked. Hilarious and engaging on character drama. But at this point, in order to get an 8/10 of me, they must do a really powerful ending. Other than that, it will stay as a 7/10.

We get to see Yuki and Tohru together after the disastrous rejection of Sakura (I will never forget that), and you know what as much as I hate the circumstances that leads to this episode, I think their interactions are really cute and they're yet to find a way to connect and blossom as a full-fledged couple. Also Tohru's (I guess) maid/landlord whatever is giving Tohru the warning usual (as it should). And Yuki is blushing the hell out if things were to go the "intense" way, it's too early for all that Yuki.

Sengoku with those love tips, you know he's near pro level on his knowledge bcos of his relationship with Remi. And yes apparently hes afraid of bugs and other exotic insects, nice way to make your girl cry. And on the other spectrum, apparently Sakura is a Buddhist, nice info there.

The holiday season is upon Horimiya, and Akane is looking HOT without the glasses, and Yuki's onee-chan is really interested in the hot lad. Idk why but its kind of possible for them to be shipped, although you may never know Sakura is there vacant. And on Shuu's case, coming from last episode, he really supports his beautiful imouto, and I just can't resist her charm.

Lastly, and it's been a while we get to see some proper scenes of the two, Kyouko and Izumi! I can't believe that Kyouko's parents heavily accepts Izumi, real life hurts like a-. And hey the gang is about to graduate next spring, and thinking about the future sets in. Similar to a scene in a previous episode, our Horimiya couple walks in the cold night as they promise each other that they will still continue to love each other. Hitherto, and Forevermore.

And I'm surprised that Kyoko is the one that confessed for marriage, that's a big thing to say! Now we know they're set for a married life, and the New Year scene was sweet. It's been the best episode in a while, and next week will be the last. I want to see this show end sweetly, because it has made me realize that my life in reality is really sh-

I actually loved this Christmas + new years episode and I thought it was really sweet. The Yoshikawa segment of the episode was really enjoyable and the whole scene with Miyamura and Hori really gave off the same feeling that the series gave off at the start and I liked it.

It honestly felt like a really solid finishing point (also 12th ep so it works out) but I'm not complaining that there's more next week and hopefully it'll be good.

ÎAh, the Christmas and New Years arc. <3

Miyamura is just a part of Hori's family now. Loved Kyosuke and Souta's reactions when they heard that Miyamura couldn't come over due to his busy schedule.

Yuki and Tooru were so cute. Gotta love Tooru's mom (Edit: Sorry, I really thought she was the mom at first. My bad). Enjoyed the moments of the other couples too, such as Remi & Sengoku and Chika & Shindou.

Then of course, we got that proposal of Miyamura and Hori at the end.

If the buildup and the pacing in general was better, this would have been a better episode. But there's just too many relationships and development in general for the jumpy pace to be acceptable here. It's just jarring. There are good moments that make me want to enjoy the adaptation like the proposal, but everything just comes across as lacking or forced, even if I don't necessarily hate the characters myself.

So the little box in the OP may actually be a ring box after all, huh? Anyways, there were like three episodes where the main couple didn't receive any focus and now they talk about future and propose marriage to each other? Eh... guess I shouldn't be surprised given how shallow their relationship has been handled so far but still.
As expected, Miyamura proposing marriage to Hori felt as unimpactful as the times when they first kissed and had sex. Honestly, I haven't seen a relationship being developed in such hollow way in a while.

Also, wait... so Ishikawa x Yuki is the ultimate pairing then? Damn, that's so undeserving.

we been saying this has been rushed from the start even me and many other anime onlys felt the pacing was way too fast ,i thought this was the finale with how many characters they were trying to fit in for a typical see what everyone's doing on new years

overall cute episode..if i had been reading this for a few years and then they drop the marriage proposal i would've been way more hyped here i'm just like uh that's a bit too fast but i guess not that soon for this show lol

So they are getting married, what a perfect romance anime this is!

That was a fantastic episode! Though I honestly thought they were gonna save the proposal for the last episode, wonder what they will adapt in the last episode, kind of worried that they'll probably end it next episode, well I guess it would be fine, just wish they would adapt in an ova or something all the other fun chapters they skipped.

"Miyamura belongs to everyone" he does indeed, our boy deserves the love he has been getting. Yuki and Toru were pretty adorable this episode in Toru's house, and I can understand Toru, for now he is satisfied with how things are, maybe in the future when he's ready, they're ready, they can officially date each other. Sengoku not wanting to go to Remi's house because of the bugs was hilarious. It was nice seeing all the characters in Christmas, I love all the characters in this show, pretty heartwarming. Really looking forward to the season finale.

That felt like the end of the season. Pretty satisfying way to close it all off for now. The actual last episode better feel more conclusive than this, because otherwise it's just going to feel weird.

Ok maybe I'd have preferred there to be some central storyline for everything to wrap around, which the first couple episodes could have been a set up for. But I also don't mind how it actually is, a compilation of a lot of cute couples doing cute things and mix in just a bit of drama in there and some more cute moments. And that's not cloverwork's fault, that's just how it is in the manga. As far as I'm concerned, cloverworks has done an exceptional job of adapting this series and even adding a bit of their own flavor to the mix. Does it follow the manga to a T? I don't know, I didn't read that much of it actually.

Now you can't call it "rushed" if there's no storyline TO rush. Even still, it kind of just FEELS a bit rushed; can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's because apparently the anime has skipped over several chapters, in which could have provided better pacing, idk. Whatever, it's almost over, and I can say that I had a good time watching this series. Hovering between a 6 and a 7, guess the last episode will decide where I stand. If the last episode really hits home, easy 7. If it ruins the sense of closure that this episode gave, 6.

My problem with how sporatic all the scenes are still remains. It isn’t so much a problem in SOL shows, but it is a problem here because they are trying to develop a lot of relationships at the same time. As a result, big developments like Miyamura proposing to Hori does not feel as impactful because we hardly saw any development in their relationship the past 4 episodes or so.

I enjoyed this episode more than the last couple, yet I feel it would be much better if they didn’t rush it as much.

Yes, I felt the same. Miyamura's proposal didn't have much of an impact for me because my head was focused on the other couples. I was enjoying the idea of developing each couple but then Miyamura and Hori did not develop much with the passing of the episodes. What should have been an impactful proposal, it ended up not even being.

Souta & Kyousuke loooololll they are like that in the manga too but it’s so funny to see their little obsessive actions over Miyamura be animated. I love Souta he’s sooooo cute

We also got to see Tooru’s place. Art isn’t a strong point in the manga, neither is it in the anime, but I do like the colouring. Especially this episode it brought out the winter darkness & coziness of the lights during the shrine visit well. Sort of parallels with the insecurity of Hori’s thoughts of the future & the warmth & security Miyamura brings her♡ Pretty atmospheric!

Tooru being content with what he & Yuki have now. I really like their relationship. 暧昧 — the state of relationship status of being more intimate than normal friends but not yet lovers. It’s evident that Tooru likes her but my best boy is pretty laidback & easygoing & definitely wouldn’t pressure her into anything.

Wonder how the anime is going to end off........

Another episode hindered by this show's terrible directing. On paper, the moment when Miyamura proposes to Hori should be a hugely powerful moment. In practice, however, it just falls flat for two reasons, the most obvious of which being that their relationship is incredibly shallow, poorly-developed and arguably toxic. They hardly have any chemistry at all, we've scarcely seen them interact with each other since they had sex and those interactions were just Hori forcing her kink onto Miyamura. As a result, the marriage proposal just feels entirely impulsive on Miyamura's part and it's hard to get behind that.

The other reason that I've kind of touched upon already is the imbalance in the show's focus, focusing almost exclusively on our titular couple for the first 8ish episodes, then almost entirely on the side characters since. Because of this, they've hardly interacted in ages so it feels like their relationship hasn't progressed at all since then despite the show's claims to the contrary. The show's direction would have been better if it had better balanced the titular couple and the side characters' screentime so as to better pace their developments and keep both sets of characters consistently in the limelight, rather than having half of them practically disappear for large stretches of the show. This is particularly important here when the show is trying to develop so many relationships concurrently.

The pacing suddenly increasing its step. Can't believe this wholesome rom-com will be over, next week.

The graduation always become such a fear for most of a teen couple, especially when they seek for a forever relationship. Not so surprising if Hori thought about that very hardly, even forgetting a warmth nuance in her family, everything could be over in the next year....

Good thing that Miyamura-kun simply took the chance and let it flow as simple as possible too. No need a heavy thought, just said it asap. A marriage proposal has been said, and yep, its a better statement instead of fooling around in the temporary status.

Tooru and Yuuki? That's kinda an underwhelming end checkpoint. Tooru denied the fact and decided to keep fooling around with her. Its not too good, boy. Different 180 degrees with their best friend in the other side xd. Meanwhile, the other characters had their own special times. Poor Sengoku spent the special time against his fear of bug. Yanagi spent the night with Yuuki's older sister. A better choice? Idk to whom Honoka went after receiving the cake. But, Hori-san family reaction toward Miyamura always make me smile.

Sorry but I beg to differ. Apart from it being like that in the manga too, it wasn’t really a “real” proposal. They didn’t actually bring it up again significantly/actually get married while still in high school. It was more of his awkward, but sincere way of assuring her that they would be in each other’s future. But I do agree it might not have translated as well on screen!

He popped the question... my heart can't take all the sweetness that this anime is giving us! There were so many cute moments between the couples this episode and every kind of love was displayed!

I loved the scene with Ishikawa & Yuki. They clearly have feelings for each other but they've decided they don't need to rush into a relationship because they're happy the way they are and I think that is so awesome. What's 'normal' and other people's opinions don't matter as long as both people are happy!

Damn, I was expecting a lot more from the last scene. I thought they would end the season with it and adapt the
before. It would have made for a much more emotional and convincing scene. The direction could have been a lot better too.

I guess they're probably gonna skip right to the end of the manga now for the WHOLE next episode. IMO if they were gonna adapt it they should have just given it 5 minutes at the end of the final ep.
